acc 506 and balanced det and crit
courtesy of someone from the bluegatr forum
I wish the animus wasn't the worst weapon in 2.2.
For a quick heads up, I never miss on anything so far in t6 - t7 with ~475 accuracy. Okay I also never attack from the front :p
I guess technically the 95 levi weapon is the worst.
But it can be upgraded to 100 to have 28 Acc/40 Crit.
To be clear, the Atma weapon is only ilvl 100 in name. Stat-wise it's exactly the same as 90 zenith and the books increase it up to proper ilvl 100 status(the Animus is what it's called when all the books are done).
The Animus is 40 Acc/28 SkS.
That and the Tidal Wave Petas are somewhat comparable. Most monks favor crit over SkS though. It's saving point is that it may make up for accuracy loss if you buy the chest.
It's a lot of work though for just that.
Not to mention the Weathered Glanzfaust is 40 Acc/20 Det and can be upgraded to 110, making it better that either of the other two.
I understand that weapons from tougher things should have higher item level.
But the way it is now, the relic ends up being for people who don't have access to the other weapons.
I'm going to do all of it anyway, but it's disappointing that the relic is just something non-raiders would use.
Especially with the elaborate book stat progression, which I think is awesome.
It is very wise to continue to do the Relic quests, as they said there will continue to be progress added even in sub-patches (2.25 was mentioned specifically). I bet that are anticipating that no one will have either a full Animus or a High Allagan (or very very few people will have one) by 2.25, and that Animus will get more books to make it i110.
I think endgame raid weaps will always supersede Relics by 5 iLVLs at expected "finished" status, though.
I'm pretty sure I (and most of my FC) will have the full Animus in the next 2 weeks. I'm halfway done with the first book without even really trying for it.
The myth tomes suck, but it can be farmed.
Regardless, people will be getting the Glanzfaust by that time. Maybe not everyone, and that does come down to some RNG (for the 110) but it's also perfectly itemized.
Why does it have to by like that? All they should do is give an optional upgrade to the relic that only drops from T9.
I don't expect them to put the best stats on the relic and hopefully the stats will be customizable in the future.
It gets relegated as a casual/catch-up weapon because it requires no hardcore endgame content. They don't want to do that, because they want everyone to be able to follow the quest line.
A minor upgrade from T9 would at least give it the potential to be BiS though.
(Potential being if we ever get to change the stats)
This is subjective, but I'd much rather have the relic be BiS and evolve over the course of end-game than using some other random loot from a chest.
They could make it optional to upgrade the relic, so only people downing T9 will get that ilvl available but everyone else can still follow the questline.
The relic weapon is meant to be meaningful, but when you're hardcore you hardly get the chance to pick it up.
Of course, that's for this patch mostly. It can be completely different next patch.
Lol if u think about its the same as ff11 when relics got overshadowed by the seekers of addoulin weapon, but then later the REM weapon got upgraded to b comparison to seekers. I think will b seeking much similar updates and patches the way 11 does.
Got my Weathered Gloam Taburd today ^^ but lost a lot of ACC.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-turn-accuracy
Page 2 has someone posting his stats.
Anyway, it's mostly guesswork for now, the set I made can easily have the boots and glove switch out for lower acc.
Also. At first I didn't like the look at all... But now... I'm really fond of it, lol.
I got my ACC back to 476 ... switch a lot of accessoirs though. Though it's too low for T6 (and T5 snakes), but can't change a thing now. :/ going back to deviled eggs food now. D: (always used det food before)
Without food I'm sitting at..
Accuracy 450.
Critical Hit Rate 474.
Determination 306.
I wanted to wait 2 more weeks to get the Pants. With Acc food I'll be @ 477, But I think there is a new Acc food Steamed Catfish and the HQ is 30acc. Only thing I don't like about the new body is the clipping of my hair ; ; so I'll need to redo it again.
The monk leviathan weapons can make up for the loss of acc from the gloom tabard.
Just curious, has anyone calculated out the best first purchase for the new tomes? Figure this week I have 900 so just about anything is up for grabs. Running with EX claws right now http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/M228.
I bought the Ring, and am going to save for a week, and get Tabard next week, here's my gear after I get it for my group still working on T5:

I got the Gloam top, I covered the acc issue with melee hat, earring of maiming, choker of maiming and a hero bracelet, brings me up to 470ish acc and 470ish crit as well.
Weapon is Wave Patas, though I can just wear the Hellish claws as well.

I don't look too terrible I think.
So is the Tabard the best first piece to buy, or is it better saving for the weathered weapon?
The Tabard is BiS as far as most can tell, so it's a good investment anyway. The Weathered Glanzfaust is worth getting over it but only if you have the Unidentified Allagan Tomestone. If you buy the Tabard now, you can give yourself 3 weeks to get that tomestone.
That's not too low for T5 or T6. Only need 458 for T5 (except for the brief time during which you're forced to attack Asclepius from the front while dodging divebombs) , and I haven't missed a single hit on Rafflesia in T6 with 469 accuracy (which I'm p.sure is above cap for t6 as well lol)
Beat turn 7. As for me, I'm getting the Weathered Gloam Brais since I'm still using the CT one. Didn't feel like spending myth on the melee gaskin when the i100 is a direct upgrade.
For you, I'd imagine either:
1. Get the Weathered Gloam Tabard, farm Moogle EX necklace and use some Accuracy food if you're doing turn 5.
2. Get the Weathered Gloam Ring and Belt and farm Moogle EX anyway.
While the weathered version can't be dyed, according to the database once it has been upgraded to the Gloam Tabard, it will be dyable.

Really do not like Weathered Gloam Tabard, it so not monk like.
I straight away glamour it the moment I got it, the High Allagan striking cuirass looks so much better, hopefully my static will be able to start T6 soon
went to t6 with 458acc, realize quite a number of missed (probably 5-6) before wiping in phase2. changed gear for 475acc, no misses so far
