Because that's how argumentation points work. If someone says this is why I believe x, for a and b reasons, adding c gives more reason to believe said argument. That is what is called evidence. Having more or less does sway judgements. Similar to irl, there are people firmly on either side of a debate that can't be shifted, but there will also be people on the fence that see valid points on both sides and actually nitpick on the amount of compelling evidence from either.
