Monks very weak. Need rebalance

How is he a troll? His last post was the most truthful post in this thread. Those are facts. Monks risk/reward is fine and I don't see why they need to change anything with them. There are other classes that could use love instead of monks. If monk isn't strong for you maybe you should figure out ways of improving or ask accomplished monks for some tips.

My first job to 50 was a dragoon and my monk was out damaging him even before he got full DL. Once I got +1 on my relic like my goon he couldn't touch my monk's damage. You simply cannot beat FoF/GL/TS flat dps increase as a Dragoon. Only reason to bring a goon is if you go double bard for his piercing debuff. A competent monk will beat a goon's dps every time with similar gear. Fact.

I repeat once more- monk is not week in some way, but there is some problems with rotation (remove some skills from rotation), some unbalance skills and buffs- because of this monk is not good and it is very hard to find a group in dungeon for monk. Because all of this there are some ways to improve monks and realy FIX it

I understand where you're coming from but I think it would be pretty sad to remove skills and turn them into a snore fest class to play like a dragoon. Monks feel very engaging to play and their difficulty is rewarded with higher dps then usual. As far as it being hard to find a group we can all work on being better monks and helping fresh monks so that the stigmata about the job will be change for the better.

Our healers prefer to have DRG to sustain dmg than Monk, I assure you.

Healers work a little harder and mobs die faster. Sounds like a good trade off. Especially if you're monk is good and doesn't get hit with avoidable damage

If Monk got buffed any further it'd be more over powered than it already is. And yet Melee in general is getting some kind of buff.

The job is fine. The damage is fine. The only reason people don't think it's fine is because it's "hard" to keep up GL3(intended) it's "hard" to position (No it isn't) , It's "hard" to work in DoTs, and it's "hard" to dodge an AoE and trade a snap punch for a rockbreaker to keep GL3.

If everything that makes up the basics of the classes balance is too "hard" and that is what makes it weak. Maybe it's player error. If you want something easier, Bard is right there.

I have said it TWICE already. My "numbers" come from the FFXIV INTERNAL PARSER. What do you think the numbers on the party icons stand for? That's your parser position. While we don't have access to absolute numbers, we still have access to the position on the list, and considering they wrote the parser for their game I very much doubt they made such grave errors in it, so you must be talking about a 3rd party app.

I also already said why people prefer other classes over Monk: Monk is not a faceroll class. I myself wouldn't count myself as experienced yet, despite coming out 2nd on the hate list more often than not.

This thread is for those, who wants to make monk better and stronger by changing some skills. If you say "monk is fine and no need to be changed" you can leave this thread and never come back

You mean to make it ace of all trades so it becomes the "only viable option(tm)" for melee dps. This won't happen.

Oh, so you're considering aggro list as an accurate "damage / DPS position" value ? Do you know that DRG, BLM have an aggro reduce CD ? If you're not 2nd aggro metter or 3rd you're indeed playing badly as a monk. But if other job wouldn't use their aggro reduce cooldowns, BLM would be first, you know that ? And for DRG, he has also to use it's reduce CD otherwise he is overaggroing like us in some extent. .... This is NOT a correct value metter and this is not a DPS metter but an AGGRO metter which has NEVER been any correct measurement for damage / DPS list.

And for the other one, some damage are not avoidable and "if" we do more damage than DRG, I repeat, he brings 10% bonus damage to bard, this is enough for us not to be selected and if you are, mates are just not optimal.
And if you speak about Mantra, let me laugh about this useless advantage because of sudden death and spike damage tanks take. I'm not kind of monk to say that "everything is perfect", that's all I want to tell, cause it's not the truth ! And while I'm playing good and sky rocketting at DPS and FC is satisfied with me, we can't afford not to think in optimal way as I'm doing comparing DRG and MNK (for example). Don't forget we have only 8 slots in raid for 9 job (at least atm) and we bring "nothing" raid wise.

Thinking as some of you are right now won't benefit us for long, with respect, this is not realistic to tell that "monk is fine" EVEN if I'm very pleased with the job.

Interesting thread. I really enjoy playing monk and in general think it's fine - but I do think it would be improved if GL dropped one stack at a time instead of all at once. Especially in later bosses it's impossible to keep up GL for any amount of time because they disappear/you have to dodge large aoes. It can be frustrating to lose GL completely the second you get GL3, and then have to start all over.

That would be my only suggestion.
