pretty much and I'm saying this calmly.
1 there should be casual conmtent and hardcore content. it should just be called content
2 no such thing as casual or hardcore players, we are just players who play different durations.
3 limiting players from content can and will skrew over other players even hardcore.
4 if no one can play 100% of the game, people will quit and not newbies will join. (see ffxi and 2 merges in 2 years)
more explaination to 3.
see if there is only content for a limited group people will form set parties to do them. Soon these groups will fill up and there will be players who can't join because all the groups are full. Then they quit because they have the time to do content but lack a group.
if you guys don't see that then please go look @ ffxi. I missed out on content because I didn't get into a group. Everyone elses group in my time of play was full.
So why limit players when it will just end up skrewing alot of people over.
i did i was replying to your quiestion sorry if I wasn't clear.
I'm talking content as a whole. and your friends were lucky, not everyone is that lucky. Still don;t justifie the "hardcore" right of entitlement guising as a complaint the casuals have. Which i have yet seem. And hate to say my post count should be proof i'm on here alot. I played ffxi as a "casual" and "hardcore" content was very limiting for someone with 2 hours to play.
And this limit was after I bought the game.
I totally agree with the OP. Since I have absolutly no life, job, family, friends, or obligations and can spend all of my waking time playing this game, I deserve to have things other people that have the afformentioned responsibilities should never be able to possess!
Stop crying about it, so your epeen may suffer a little. You should be happy that other players will be getting geared and enjoying themselves. I could keep going on but I feel an seizure coming from the sheer stupidity of the people in this thread.
Effort =/= Skill, I could tuck my junk and wear a dress but that doesn't make me don't make me any better of a woman for all the effort, and time spent logged in (or should I say accumulated XP 'cause thats what we are really talking about) is not the deciding factor for skill in any RPG.
I could be a total badass at FPS games but who do you think will win if I'm playing on dial-up and mo opponent is on fiber-optic? that make for less skill? How much "skill" is involved if I only work 5 hours a week while you work 65 ... you should naturally be "better" due to your time investment and as a result have a better house and a nicer car, regardless of the fact that I inherited 150 million for a family member while you hold up a stop sign at a construction site.
this is troll bait and your a putz, all appearance items should have equal visual quality and attention to detail. sure, higher quality items should have greater complexity (to an extent) but nothing should look "bad" simple because it is low level.
the only entitlement babies I see here are the ones crying for more attention because they have less of a life.
Your post count doesn't matter.
And you didn't really respond to my question:
At the moment, all content in FFXIV is designed and catered to Casuals. My question is What is wrong with having content to satisfy hardcores as well?Quote:
Why is everyone so against letting hardcores have their content too? (yes, most of this game is very much catered to Casuals)
If Casuals can invest the same amount of time to get an item as a hardcore through different methods... what is wrong with that?
What is wrong as we are players we pay for a game and should beable to access the same content. No one is asking for anything easy. You guys are stuck that casual means easy. It don;t always mean easy. You can have fights that anyone can do be hard. alot of bcnm where hard fights and you only had 20-30 min to do them @ minus that bomb one where you had 10 mins to kill it. fights don't need to last for hours to be hard.
Limits actually increase the difficault btw.. like only having 10 mins to kill off a huge dragon with 4 ppl only.
See if you limit content to certain groups you end up also skrewing over others.
pretty much no one is getting it
1 less people who can do the content
2 the less groups there will be
3 the less groups their are, the more people you skrew over.
4 even if you had the time to do the content, with out a group your sol.
5 if your SOL from doing content, then you wil prob quit the game.
thats what happen in ffxi.
so in other words
1the more people who can do content
2 the more groups will be
3 the more groups their are the more people can do
4 the more ppl can do the less likelyhood they will quit
5 the more people who can bring in more players which gives SE more money, which lets SE make better content.
(see WoW)
Again, you're not reading, or at least you're special pleading.
I specifically said that they should make NMs designed for Hardcore players, but they should also make it accessible to Casuals by making it take the same amount of effort.
So if it normally takes a week for a hardcore player to camp an NM and get an item to drop, they should make an alternate route for Casuals to be able to get the same or similar item through "guild points" or tokens of some kind. So... that negates your objections so I ask again:
What's wrong with this?
