It's ultimately meaningless in terms of FFXIV as deaths on a global scale are considered a positive way forward according to the writers/developers. Had these actions been relegated solely to antagonists we wouldn't be having this discussion. Instead, we now have a central character who is glorified, celebrated, and marketed for it.

The point is, genocide in the world of 14 is very complicated, a lot of the time its used as a way for the protagonists to pave the way forward and isnt really judged. If AU's aren't real then it's a massive thing to consider. I don't think a few can make an decision like that for that many people. It's just not ok. I'd prefer the characters understand that horrible things that happened in the past and try to do better in the future. Not do other horrible things to "fix" the wrong doings of the past.Quote:
