I see. Well that certainly leaves it up to interpretation yet again. Figures.
Honestly the "Other" category of the racial distributions they give is so nebulous that it might as well be useless imo.

I haven't completed much in Bozja, but from the little bit I've seen other's mention I've noticed a connection I haven't seen mention. People are noting how a Primal might be summoned by the IVth legion and are speculating Asura based on the portrait we've seen. If people recall Asura has only ever been in 1 main title game, FFIV.
So, from what I gather Bozja is just another smattering of Tactics references garnished with original elements.
Thanks for saving me the trouble of actually watching the cutscenes, kiddos!
Literally only Gabranth is an Ivalice reference and he hasn't even shown up in person yet. It's all original stuff so far
The Dalmascan miqo'te is only said to be Dalmascan in the rare drop profile you can get from FATEs. Neither she nor her background are relevant to the plot going on.
Actually, we did see him in person a couple of times.
One time at the end of the "Return to Ivalice" questline and another after finishing Gangos' first quest.
Unless by "shown up in person" you meant us meeting him face-to-face, in which case, yeah...
Anyways, and back to Llofii pyr Potitus, I'm VERY disappointed that her entry didnn't go into detail on how she became a summoner (which was an Allagan discipline).
Are we meant to imply that they found some of their soul crystals over Dalmasca, which in turn, were given to a select number of mages?
I mean, we do know that the Allagan Empire reached all the way into Othard and such, but it'd have been nice to have some further clarification/confirmation on that front...
I meant in this patch specifically, because yeah we've seen his model other times.
Was Llofii a summoner, or was she just an arcanist? All I saw was her holding a book, I wasn't too focused on her otherwise during the fight.
It was mentioned in both: her own skirmish (protecting her monoceros) and her Field Record entry.
And yeah, she did use a grimoire and various Ruin spells, but she didn't summon any Egis (nor did she use any Trances).
Which is why I was left wondering how she became one, given that even her Field Record entry didn't go into detail about it.
Only that she became a "talented summoner" (somehow, even though it's a lost Allagan discipline).
It's possible there was a typo or communications breakdown somewhere with the localization, does the Japanese/French script refer to her as a Summoner or a mere Arcanist?
If the job description are consistent between languages that it would prove to em that she IS a bona fide summoner. And if she is such than its likely that the Monoceros was a constrct of hers or that she had summons made form different primals (like say...Belias? The precedent was set and Bozja obviously has Ivalician ties)
I've compared between languages, and only in EN and FR do they refer to her as a summoner.
The rest describe her as an elite soldier of a special battalion.
According to her Field Record entry, her monoceros is a real living being. Not a construct.
In fact, it's because of it that she decided to betray/leave her Legion (because they wanted to vivisect it for study, which she was heavily opposed to).
I see so that leads two possibilities
- The French Localizers went with the English script this time (unusual since they are usually closer to the Japanese one AFAIK)
- OR that her summons weren't created yetas they would be vastly different form the Players' (which would make logical sense its unlikely that the Bozjans or most Garleans in Othard encountered Ifrit, Garuda or Ttian). With the possible exception of Belias-egi.
