Ah just realized this, but don't forget they added 1 DET to the spear. Ariyala hasn't gotten around to updating that part just yet.

Yup. I've forgotten to do the same as well. That 1 DET on the weapon won't make a difference though on gear sets :P
The reason why I post the full stats is because of 1) Food buffs take into account base and gear stats 2) pure laziness because it's easier to just copy & paste.
1.5~ str increase for like.. 7m in melds ;_;
it's like 3.6 str and it's going to be way more than 7m in melds
those rings and choker will cost you like 15mil each to meld on average at gilgamesh prices and the earrings will probably be around 7mil.
so like 52 mil for 3.6 str, ya that sounds mega sketch.
Would using the earrings only create a set with more stat weights?
Yeah, anything where you have to chance DET melds and to a very slightly lesser degree CRIT is going to run you some astronomical prices unless you're really lucky. Hell my belt cost me around 6 million and I got the second DET meld on the first shot. 28 Acc IV's to get two successes. I would say shoutout for Gilgamesh...but materia prices do suck so bad here, but I imagine there's other servers as bad or even worse.
ah, i just meant for one piece. overall if you had more piece the str (and gil cost) would add up yeah
i was comparing platinum earrings vs augmented ironworks (since i was about to buy those but held off after seeing the stats)
with iv crit/crit/acc/acc/sks, compared to the ironworks augmented earrings its
-5 str -4 acc +3 crit (0.699) +13 det (4.251) +9 skillspeed (1.782) - 1.732 effective str. if you're somewhat sane and just did quickarm 3, it's 6.138 difference. the -4 accuracy doesn't matter for me, since my end set was gonna have +5 extra over cap anyway, so it works out
edit:
for bracelets, the difference compared to augmented ironworks again, with crit/crit/det/det/sks iv
-5 str -4 acc +18 crit (4.194) +1 det (0.327) +6/9 skillspeed (1.188/1.782) = +0.709 str or 1.303 with quickarm iv last meld
for necklace, difference compared to dreadwyrm
-5 str +6/9 acc -4 crit (-0.932) +1 det (0.327) +19 skillspeed (3.762) = -1.843 str without factoring in the ACC
rings can have variable melds so that's too much work for me w
another week with 0 loot
I'd not purchase a single thing if I were you guys, yet. Especially you Ricky.
Now, I do not know if there's something I've personally done wrong, or whether I've learned something I never previously knew. But it appears that there are calculated DPS losses going absolutely bananza with crafted gear at this point, which is odd, considering their weightings have increased. I believe the issue lies in the decrease of Strength, despite having weightings which are making up for the lack of this strength.
Set 3)
Weighting: 1045.831
DPS: 579.26581
Raid STR: 593.82020

Set 2)
Weighting: 1045.372
DPS: 579.8662
Raid STR: 594.55556

Set 1)
Weighting: 1044.577
DPS: 578.85214
Raid STR: 593.31278

So the weighting increased, but DPS is decreased? There must be a fall off then with primary stats somewhere, where weights are no longer relevant. It does kind of make sense, as weights are only accurate within a certain baseline, and these strengths are waay below/above the Strength baselines used. What I'll do is start recalculating a lot of things. If you've purchased a few accessories already, don't buy more until I've figured this out. But, as I previously said, Set 2) is what I'd recommend, so if you're aiming for that set, you're right on track.
EDIT: I'll continuously be editing this post to keep a log of things.

maybe only the earrings if it's a 1+ increase
