Grats ^_^
Seems like your mount farms have been going well.
I only have Tsukuyomi left since I got every SB primal mount except hers........out of all my 50+ runs, she only dropped it once and I rolled a 2 xD
Tanking in Aurum Vale: never a fun business.
I had possibly the best run I've ever managed through the first room - stuck to the edges, dodged both sets of jellyfish and one of the toads, got to the first boss room safe and sound.
Then we wiped on the boss.
So we've all reset and our MP bars are still recovering - a DRK, two mages and a bard - and I start to type "wait for our MP to refill"..... hahaha no. Off they run. Straight into all those enemies I dodged so neatly. And we end up collecting EVERYTHING.
So, ochu fight round two. It's time to pick up my fruit... except the bard comes over and eats it. No problem, I'll just get that one over---
...she ate that one too.
And the next one.
I think I've worked out who the first-time player is.
Meanwhile I'm running around the room with a giant ochu trailing behind me.
Finally I get a fruit by the time I'm at four stacks of poison, and park myself next to another one that I mark with a "do not attack" icon.
Thankfully it turns out she speaks English, so I can explain afterwards and also for the final boss. But my goodness that was stressful at the time.
It's fascinating how in an MMO where the game is all about co-operation, other players are often times the true end game.
Happens to me from time to time. Since I'm a healer 99% of the time I can stand waaaaaaay away and hoard a spawn spot. In some cases if people don't know the mechanics they may think they are supposed to eat all fruit to trigger something, or that they need to keep eating fruit for some phase of the boss fight.
So I got Nabriales during trials roulette. Easy right? Well the DRG had the bright idea of using the LB 3 right before the phase transition...meaning we couldn't use it anymore on the tear in order to get out. We wiped. He laughed, proud of what he has done and left.
Reported.
Right, it's just a dmg-check. I know it's common strategy to use it on the shard just to be save, but when the party isn't totally undergeared it shouldn't be a problem to finish the phase without any LB.
Same. I accidentally did that too. I hadn't done that place since the MSQ so I didn't know there was a phase 2 like that. People were SO mad. I felt bad. I remember now though, but I never seem to get that place.
Not sure what that is...Quote:

*internet search*
oooooooh... haven't seen that in a long time
but the laughing and leaving part still kind of sounds like a troll-ish thing
70 roulette in Skalla. This was after tactician and invig were used on the same pull. The samurai was single targeting the entire time. Didn't even use Tenka Goken at least after 2 single target combos which I can at least deal with, nah, just Midare all the way, which I don't think they even buffed with kaiten either tbh.
Please, melee jobs.. take goad... and please just use your AoE skills, those pulls took forever. They will go quicker and since I'm on bard your TP will be even less of an issue since I can help sustain your AoE output.

And assuming that most of the party did not retain the debuff after they got sucked in; practically most of the parties I encountered didn't know or bother to stay away from the crack during the transition
That and a few other things are why I often encourage the LB to be saved. I've run that instance so many times since I first joined this game and yet I have yet to have more than maybe a handful of parties actually handle the tear without the need for the LB. If it's not tanks refusing to soak damage, it's people being undergeared. If it's not people being undergeared, it's them not popping their buffs before they get pulled in. If it's not that, it's generally poor DPS or people being new - and so on and so forth. So while the instance can easily be cheesed these days, I never find myself banking on it. It's one of the first 'walls' in progression most players face, and coupled with general player error it's often better to just hit the macguffin button and let it pick up any slack from the team.
I hear as a warrior I don't need TP in Qarn normal, because what's what I was treated to. Sure the party knew what they were doing but near the end with the vaults, despite no one seemingly needing the exp, the ninja kept activating the closest 2 vaults to the final corridor. This was keeping me in combat longer and having to overpower more. Essentially 12 enemies without a break and no goads. I had half a mind to let them die but I put up with it to finish the dungeon faster. This is basically the equivalent of the dps pulling for the tank without saying a word the entire run. I pace myself pretty good in leveling dungeons due to limited tools and TP restoration but if you want more exp, SAY SOMETHING. It is not difficult to communicate.
Some people did not receive a comm this day. I am more receptive to "Hey can we kill the enemies from the vaults?" than people summoning them by backtracking when I already pulled another mob. I had to quickly do the scales myself to prevent them from summoning more. They lost that privilege.
Expert roulette just now. Just see samurai, that know only 6-7 skill of his job - standart 1-2-3-1-4-5-1-6- Kaiten buff(dont know how we learn this) - Midare - restart. All way through The Burn. I try but not see any aoe or dot or just any of 52+ skill. Just how?
Ever had a fight in the Vault last so long against Ser Grinnaux that there were no safe spots to get knocked back to without being in the vicinity of one of those voids that you're supposed to place on the outside of the arena? Ever wonder how fun it is as a tank trying to place the boss in a safe spot for the DPS, only for them to drop one of those ugly puddles right on top of the boss - repeatedly?
"Hey tank, you need to move the boss to a safe spot!"
Oh, how I wish there was a safe spot I could pull him to when I literally dragged him all over the arena because DPS kept dropping their puddles either on me or on the boss.
Doing roulettes with friends, so we have a party of four. Experts first, then queue for leveling... only to discover that we forgot to check who was healing. We load into Titan normal mode with three DPSes and a tank.
But wait! I'm a summoner! I have healing spells! Absolutely rubbish healing spells, sure, but it's either that or twiddling our thumbs until we can abandon.
And off we go. Physick Physick Physick Physick prettymuch nonstop through the battle, DPSes using Second Wind, and we get him down to around 20% before the inevitable death.
Second round, Echo boost and the Physick button relocated to my primary hotbar instead of three levels down. Wiped at 1% when the tank died and I was left running in circles hoping that my Bio spell and Carbuncle would take down his last sliver of health before he took mine.
Third try was wonky and I got caught in a landslide, but on the fourth... Victory! We beat Titan without a healer!
Doing O12s clear.
Party killed m/f before they cast second meteor.
M/f still continue their attack and cast meteor.
Everyone dies except tank that took meteor away.
M/f start transition phase to Omega final.
Tank jumped off....
I'm not sure if it would have worked or if you can even do this but it would have been an interesting experiment to see if your heals would have been a little better if you took off your job stone and did it as arcanist. That used to be a thing in arr content (at least for mrd). I know in low level stuff arcanist has fairly adequate heals but I've never played the base class in that high of a duty. Still, kudos on your success!
So finally got Dun Scaith for alliance roulette (I was getting tired of Crystal Tower raids) and oh boy it felt like release day.
I'm not sure how many people were new but I'd say around 1/4 of them were. So of course they would die left and right which would lead to wipes. And you know what? This made things even more fun.
Veterans explained the most complicated mechanics. Newbies then performed great but of course mistakes happened. That said everyone was just nice and didn't mind wiping as long as everyone was having fun.
The best part though was Diabolos nihil. Due to what I think was panic, lots of people died. Some heal LB 3 went out, bringing back the other two alliances but they quickly went down.
In the end only 2 healers from one alliance, 1 DPS and 1 tank remained and Diabolos was at 20%. The healers tried to rez as much people as possible only to see them go down rapidly desptie them trying to land some hits. And somehow and I will never know how, they won.
It was amazing to see all this struggle, all these people being brought back to life trying unleash their most powerful strike against the boss.
Dun Scaith never fails to disappoint me no matter how many times I run it.
I remember once I got LotA as Tank and someone pulled the second boss before I got there. The result was that I didn't get the Magic Pot buff and thereby don't become invisible, making everything I do ineffective against the boss.
People proceed to yell at me for not tanking the boss when I am literally incapable of doing anything to it.
Not a Duty Finder Story, but:
Killed Byakko-Ex as SAM today for the first time and immediately started farming for doggy. And after three straight kills in a row I've gotten confident: I knew what I need to do, I knew what Byakko is doing, so I was looking to max out my DPS. Everything was going smoothly after the freefall-phase, the party was healthy and LB3 was ready, so I hit the button for some extra-dmg and.. we wiped. OF COURSE we did, because we needed the TANK LB3. I was mortified and everyone was "dude, why do you hate our lives?" and I was sinking deeper and deeper into my chair while apologising to everyone. We killed him again after the failed attempt but my face was still red of shame for like an hour.
Reminds me of early access for Stormblood. People were sooooo patient. I had just returned (again) just prior to that and was re-learning/remembering and very nervous, but everyone was kind and helpful. People just enjoyed learning and helping each other. (I had something similar in another MMO with three strangers as we took forever to learn/complete a really long and involved dungeon, but it was fun.) So then the actual release of Stormblood happened, and almost overnight grumpy and rude people seemed to be clogging the roulettes and more than one tossed out insults over anything and everything.
Note: I *do* get the frustration and impatience present when people just want to get a roulette finished of some instance they've seen 100+ times, even though I don't see it helping anything.
This story is weird cuz....it's one of those times were I was glad I didn't clear a savage raid with the party I've got
So me and a friend put a pf for Sigmascape V4 savage,at the time both him and I only really made it to Forsaken 2 in God Kefka
We get 3 people in the party, one of which is a DRG who was constantly bragging non-stop about their FF Logs and how we were scrubs in comparison and in-duty they were just gloating all the time how "They're not being paid enough for this carry" and they kept this attitude the whole time rather than bothering to tell us anything on how to improve.......I barely resisted the urge to leave the party despite feeling like shit and just bit it and push forward
Thankfully I made it to enrage before the party disbanded so the next time hopefully I'd get a better party cuz......this is one of those times where the clear would've felt really hollow with people shouting "HAAA HAA WE CARRIED YOU" the whole time.
Like ok sure I'm thankful for the help but you don't have to be a douchebag about it
Had a somewhat irritating run of St. Mocianne's Hard for expert roulette yesterday:
No first timer bonus. I ran as monk and the other DPS was a mentor bard. Tank was doing the standard pulls, bard did not use a single AOE attack for the entire dungeon. I was constantly out of TP from using AOE and the bard did not once use Tactician to help me out. Barely saw Refresh used either. This bard only sometimes used any songs (only once in a while on bosses). Fortunately our healer was great and loved to both AOE and DPS.
I mean we killed bosses and cleared without any wipes, but ugh.
Getting ever closer to that end game goal of mine. Oh boy. So today, I got 2 triad cards, Byokko (so now having got all his loot I can now turn my attention to Tsukoyomi), but more importantly, I got Thordan's card! Exciting, I thought it'd never happen. Countless run of that trial and that marks all 2.x and 3.x cards gotten ~Excluding~ Cloud's card (2.51 card) because, well, I'll save it for last.

I hope to be having only 5 cards left once 4.5 drops
My Triad Predictions for 4.5 (14 cards)
Dungeon Cards - 1 or 2 (Usually expert Roulette comes with a pair, maybe we get Aurum Vale Hard)
Trial Cards - 1 or 2 (The next Auspice fight in addition to potentially the Yojimbo likely fight)
Eurika Cards - 3 (The general big bad Voidsent of Hydros, the Eurika Big Bad, loot from the hardcore bonus area)
NPC cards - 5 (Who knows, maybe 1 NPC has cards relating to characters that bridge the story leadin to 5.0 and another covers notable 4.x characters and 1 NPC to win a card concerning our twisted lalabuddy in Eurika)
24 man raid - 2 (Big bad of the raid + the guy before him, because why not, Rabanastre broke the rule of 1 card per 24 man)
Have they ever added that many cards for a patch? I genuinely don't know since I began in Stormblood, but it seems like they only add five at a time from what I've seen.
I'm surprised all of the ARR monsters don't have cards yet, though. Still no Gigantoad card. Then again, Gigantoads gross me out, so I'm okay with that.
You dont need the tank lb to beat the boss.It was the cheese strat when it first came out because people couldnt make the dps check on tiger. But now with the higher ilvls people shouldnt need to use tank lb to clear the boss.
So dont feel ashamed. Its not your fault the dps was bad :)
You ever been in a trial where the healer only wants to heal/rez themselves and their friends, and no one else in your party?
Sooo... I kind-of forgot Ridorana was in Alliance Roulette and I qued as healer. And got Ridorana. While I don't main heal I do heal fairly often (cause que times) and I've done the raid enough for it not to be a pants-crapping moment... At least until the final boss where our other healer DC'd and even though I called it out they pulled anyway (it was early pulls the whole time). Turns out our tank was really really good with their CD's (I assumed my co-heals had been prioritizing them but they were just that good) and the other alliances were good about raising me when I called out that I was down. With the dps as low as it was I was really expecting a wipe but we got through it. The hardest I've had to work for that coin in a while tho. :D
I hate the Party Finder with every fiber of my being
I put a PF for O8S clearly stating (IT'S A CLEAR PARTY NOT A LEARNING PARTY) and what do I get?A trap party where people claim they made it to God Kefka yet keep screwing base mechanics of base form Kefka heck PEOPLE KEPT DYING BEFORE TOWER 1 EVEN SHOWED UP
Somehow,someway,90% of the DPS output came(and I'm an average Dragoon not even a pro raider) from me as the other 3 kept dying
And after so many wipes at the same dumb graven image 1 mechs,I had enough and disbanded
I hate myself so much right now,90% of my PF experience either involves A/People lying straight to my face or B/People blaming me for their mistakes when they mess up mechanics.
........Today was a reminder why I avoided online games for so long,I love FF14 I really do but ughh today was depressing in more ways than one.
I dunno if I can ever clear this, literally the moment I got the fight down and everything starts to fall apart
Tho I wanna thank at least the three that legit tried:A Warrior,a Red mage and a Bard,I'm so sorry we had this disaster of a party
This thread gives me so much life. Here's my story for today:
So I've been leveling BLM to go through SB with since I have leveled SMN up to 68-69 already. Anyway, got Aurum Vale. Great. We wipe a few times in the first room, which is understandably frustrating. The healer was struggling and was called out for being undergeared. Some snarky comments and the healer left. Wait a few minutes and an awesome healer joins and we plow through.
It had been a hot minute since I last played through Aurum Vale and I kept messing up like I had just started the game today. I die no less than 3 times throughout the dungeon, one on each boss if I remember correctly. My brain became overloaded on managing mechanics and keeping track of my MP. A few times I kept Transposing instead of B3 > F3 or vice versa. I was effing up all over the place in that dungeon.
To anyone in that party, especially the healer, thanks for getting me through that hell and thanks for putting up with me all of a sudden not knowing how to play BLM. You guys rock.
