The server is full, try again later (1017)

I want to know why someone can log in (friends in my skype tell me this as I'm spamming my 0 key) when I keep getting error 1017.

Ok SE 1.0 was unplayable due to all the issues 2.0 look bad ass now I would love to log in when I want to and not a first seve basis I do hope the server expansion fix the issue as a 1.0 legacy player 3rd strike your out

1 week and 3 days after I said they had that problem to fix... I played a lot and had to leave toon online because they haven't yet fixed it. Got d/c and ofc I get error 1017. Good job making customers satisfied because bought a game but OPS you can't play!

I heard that they put the queue back in, but I am still getting 1017 errors. *sigh*

Actually no, the problem is why there is this.

If this problem didn't exist in the first place, people wouldn't resort to this.

SE failed to create an adequate number of servers with enough capacity to handle the number of players there are. Don't mistake the result for the cause.

i wanna go through the mother f**king wall when it puts me in a damn queue, and then drops me after waiting. This is such BS. This is a great way to handle the problem. Just stop people who bought the game from playing. A+ for effort SE.

So freaking simple..

I can't help but think hotfixing in afk disconnects could alleviate "some" of the problems. But it still doesn't excuse them from the horrible design and implementation of their servers.

I agree. At this point it would be much better for them to just bring the whole game down to fix the issue once and for all. Even if it were down for an entire day, as long as this problem is being fixed, I'd bet most people would be ok with it.

Tried it twice already over the last two nights, did another one last night with another idea.

Really doesn't do any good when they get pushed off the page with all the NEW posts with the SAME complaints already being pushed in existing threads like this one.

Seriously, they scrolled to page 2 in less than 10 minutes, page 3 in 30.

Gave up trying to get a conversation going where we could offer suggestions. All anyone wants to do is vent their anger and ask about getting a refund or other compensation.

Well im now about 20 hours in on both downloading and trying to log in to this stupid game compared to about 1 hour of gaming this is really getting to be ridiculous I am really regretting giving these people my 80 dollars for the CE. I am confused about this 1017 message are you supposed to just let it sit there and you will eventually get in? or are you supposed to keep closing it and trying again? because their message about this subject was very very vague

It used to be that you got put in a queue and all you had to do was let the message sit there. Eventually you would start moving up the queue and the message would start refreshing, counting down until you eventually log in.

Now they've put some ridiculously low caps on everything, and you just get bounced to the Server is Full message and have to bounce back to the start screen and try again. The queue is still there, but we are finidng that unless you are close to the top (like 10th or less), you may get bounced out.

Word of caution: don't just spam X or the 0 button without checking your screen after you try to log in--you may actually get into the queue and if you hit X or 0 at that point, it will kick you out of the queue.

Lost connection and now 1017 ERROR for over an hour.....Why ohh why does this still go on ; ;

oh man... soooo close. Got Queued at 27 just now, one refresh, and then 1017. Better then it's been since Saturday night, but still needs work.

Getting queued a few times here and there, but keep getting bounced back with 1017.

Starting to look like this is roughly when it starts, just a little before 8PM eastern.

looks like im not gonna be able to play this game until they make the upgrades because my only time for gaming is during peak hours I am finally giving up trying to log in after an 2 hours of spamming x on my ps3 while playing around on my laptop ive had enough definitely telling my friends who were considering this game to not even attempt to play this

I love it too. Especially when I get the queue and then get the 1017 error. Even better when my friend turns on his computer next to me after I have been trying to get on for 30 min, and gets right on.

Get in a que every now and then but right back to 1017 after a few trys. ><

Servers full I can deal but this broken queue system is just cruel.

I really don't care about the way us Legacy Players are being treated. I think that we put up with enough baloney that to be denied a chance to play now is a slap in the face. The people in charge of this project should have known damned well how many Legacy players there were, they should have known, or at least estimated on the high side how many people would want to check out the game at launch. Give me a break. I'm sure the devs and the people responsible would have had some idea of what to do, but it seems they don't.

I don't need to hear excuses about how it's working as intended because they are intentionally limiting logins. I don't care about how other people say 'they weren't ready' 'they didn't know'. Oh really? Whoever it was that 'didn't know' should be fired. Sorry, that's just how it is. Yeah, this is just another post by a realtively anonymous internet rager but still, we played this game at 1.0, it sucked, but we played. Some of us even played XI, I sure did. I put in a good four years in that game.

Maybe they'll get these issues fixed soon enough, and maybe after we'll be very happy and never speak of this again, but really, to tout how important us Legacy players are, to advertise how much love and effort and determination they put into making XIV a better experience, a better game for everyone, well, if everyone can't play, I guess that's like breaking a promise.

I really want to play this game. Yeah I guess I could go outside and let the bright yellow ball in the sky warm my face, or spend time with my family and friends, or go play another game, but if you had tickets to that big concert or to the game of your favorite major league team, and got to the door and the door was closed and locked with no explanation, you'd be angry too and want to rant at someone.

there is no defending SE right now a larger WORKING Queue is needed PERIOD

I'm not sure whats more irritating though the lack of a queue or that your returned to the title screen so even spamming is annoying to do

So someone mentioned sitting until Bahumat started blowing crap up... 2x now that has worked to get me into the server. Prob just dumb luck but I find that interesting.
