:::Petition:: Removal of 1017 and Reinstatement of Global Queue System

As i can not get the forum to allow me to post in general, i will be posting this here.

I propose a petition to get global queues reactivated. I am aware as most are that they will be implementing upgrades to the servers early next week, But untill then and even through that they will have many players who simply could not enter the game due to literally being locked out of the server.

I would like to state that being a avid player and full time worker, those of us who are on peak time have a very very low chance to get into the server with its current setup. It says to "please wait for an available spot" Yet there is no way to determin when there is an availability. This will be happening for many of the players and the only sure fire way to allow a fair equal opertunity to play would be reinstating the queue and removing the lockdown.

Please Please Please SE, give us back the queue system and remove the 1017, There are too many players who are afking in game and no way for us to even out the playerbase =(

With the emense popularity of the game and the huge underexpectations that were given, One can only assume that even with the hardware updates and upgrades that we will still have flooded population on most if not all servers, this is after all pretty much the "go to" game of the year atm. The queue system is the only logical process that would not just limit the amount on the server at once, but also give us players a chance to play fairly and equally instead of being forced at the back of the line due to lack of construct in the design of logging into the game.

Everyone else who feels this way please sign this petition as well

Edit:: Square Enix this is your chance to listen to your playerbase, Ive read many quotes on how your all about the players and yovue done an amazing job repairing the disaster of 1.0. This is in your hands now and the spotlight is on you i only hope that we have enough players in favor of this idea that you would see the consequences of removing it in the first place. Hear the people!

Edit 8/30:: As of 8/30 Yoshida did make a post regarding congestion issues, latency and overall poor preformance of the game. WIth that being said this is more of a constructive thread for potential things that we need fixed in the long run or things we think we would like to see happen. As its already a popular thread this is probably the best place for you to get your own opinions out their.

Once again i can not stress, This Thread is not for white knighting, or for nerd raging, but for constructive implementation and idealistic thoughts that could potentially help see this server through its expected life cycle. Please refrain from posting any arrogant or otherwise inapropriate statements and lets keep it clean guys =)

I completely agree with you on this. I am a casual gamer with a full time job, so the only time that I get to play is during peak hours. I have only been able to log on once since the early access started. At least then I knew that I was in a queue waiting to be able to play. I am glad that there is more interest in the game then they had anticipated, but this is really not acceptable. I am a Legacy member, and have hung out through the pitiful 1.0 release, then the long wait for ARR beta, and found the changes made to be absolutely great, and now here I am stuck not being able to play. This really won't go over well if they start charging me and I can't even play the game.

It's not that they removed the queue system, they have altered the cap on how many get queued. Don't know actual numbers and mechanics, but it's kind of like this:

Before: seemingly no cap on actual number of players--ceiling may have been all registered players allowed online at one time. But, at a certain point, the system would start putting logins in a queue to try to control some congestion. The highest level I ever saw in this queue myself was 252.

Now: The point of queuing starts at a lower population level, like say 3000 players, and then the queue itself has a hard cap. The highest number I have seen in queue myself since the tweak is 182--and I got kicked out to 1017 error.

So, the issue is they have either put hard limits where none existed before, or they have dramatically lowered those hard limits---so, the login process responds as if the server is full now much more often than it would have before.

What we need is for them to raise or remove those new caps.
