I'm just surprised that there was no comment from Yoshi P regarding the reception of BLU on both JP and NA communities. I remember when Bard in Heavensward had a huge thread regarding their cast times and am surprise they haven't replied yet. If their plan is to keep BLU completely as a limited job then I don't know if I should continue to play it. I might as well accept it is not for me or my partner who loved BLU to be his main but can't.

I hopw the people enjoying BLU have fun!

blue mage could easily be made to work nicely with all of the other jobs by doing the following:

1) can only use blue mage if you have acquired all spells

2) restrict some spells for use only in overworld content. ie tail screw, missile, lv5 death, doom

3) introduce premade loadouts for each role that have some slight customization. both this and the first point i made would serve to eliminate the argument of "but what if they only have water cannon????????"

That seems like an easy line to fall on, easy PR management speak. Of all the the social areas I've seen, reddit, OF, facebook a few times though I hardly look at that often, and once via google translate, it seems consistently mostly negative (with some positive, yes). Not that I'm saying it's impossible but it seems implausible from at least seeing negativity majority about it in social networks and even sometimes negativity in NN (in game mentor chat, where you imagine people would be most positive lol), and to me it appears a comment like this is more like trying to shush the fires "shh you have no points, we made it perfectly, shh now, only sleep" xD- while also telling everyone there exists no fire (which is why I said it appears to be PR speak, since we see companies do something like that so often).

I suppose if they use leveling data as a form of enjoyment they might think there are more, but I've leveled blue mage to 50 and disliked it mostly and am almost 60 (less energy to level it now that I know how they're designing the job), and I still have feelings against it. So if they counted me as a positive because I've touched it.. then that'd be faulty info.

Same. My blu is 60 and I know all the spells but this update has done nothing to convince me that this is the better way to have blue mage in the game. I don't mind that it's in the game but now I want a real job version even more.

I just think people have given up on the idea that BLU will become a full job. So I'm not surprise one bit. It's the same deal with healers and genderlocked races. People apparantly on the forums are a vocal minority and people touching BLU means it's successful on it's own.

It's more that the discussion has been had ad nauseum. Constructive criticism and various degrees of "THIS ISN'T WHAT I WANTED FUCK YOU" have been given to the dev team. There's not much more to talk about. If we get Blue Mage as a real boy, it will be sometime during 6.0 at the earliest. Not to mention, people actually do seem to be enjoying this outing of BLU much more than the initial launch, myself included, so I'm hoping that will make Square at the very least consider something to the effect of a Duty Finder legal template system. At some point. And let us get to level cap.

When blue mage was added and pretty much since, I had no interest and barely touched it (level 17). Even with the level 60 additions, I was still completely uninterested and I thought the patch was entirely irrelevant. But... some healer thoughts I read a few days ago kind of turned that upside down, except not in a way that had to do with the job concept/identity. Once upon a couple days ago, I logged into another character that didn't yet have it unlocked, it became unlocked (level 1), then logged out at level 57 some time later. Continuing the next day (today) doing lots of things as level 60. Right now I'm feeling like I could rank these experiences above all the other experiences I've had since Heavensward. Without even really thinking of being "blue mage", and what that even means or is about, all the spells I have so far (I think 48), options, choices, trying things, switching spells, solo duties, synced party duties, stages, and the significance of the experience of playing the job as I've progressed and prepared it (healer oriented) has brought me to here and now. It's not something I would normally do, but I even skipped all the cutscenes and speech in the quests, except for the (last?) quest I had following the last level 60 stage because the stage was like a climax of it all so far and I really enjoyed it. If not for this, I think I would be upon the brink of not playing at all

Right now I think BLU is a lot more fun than it was at 50 and feels a lot more fleshed out. But it’s still not the “OP job” that lets us solo old content with level 5 death as was told to us.

Right now I honestly feel like it seems more like a hybrid regular job and it still feels like with a bit of order and restrictions put into place it could easily fit in to the trinity and work in current content.

But ignoring the topic of it being limited or not, my only major gripe with it as it stands is the spells that are useless outside the carnivale. I was really hoping they’d realise how stupid of an idea that is and update some of the old spells to be relevant. I understand with basic spells like the elemental moves that are just 220 potency attacks with different elements, but spells like loom that are just outright useless or primal spells that are just worse versions of other spells except for their element or attribute (garuda vs. Ifrit or ramuh vs. Titan) need to be buffed/changed.

Blue Mage needs duty finder. The potency of its spells are not op. I get really tired of doing fates and grinding useless mobs to lv;l that's what dungeons are for and /tangent for the record making less of them per patch is unacceptable. Your basically just spamming one new one per patch either expand the roulette to include previous dungeons or replace with something else entirely. /endtangent

Blu don't need a DF, he just need a increased level and be like 10 level below max.
What is it needed for anyway? Leveling? You can get a blu from 1 to 60 in 30 min when any friend is helping.

I like doing the level 60 treasure chests, because you can join as blue and deal the most dmg in there.
There is any special fate below lvl 60? Join as blu and be OP.
Also doing raids as full blue group and faceroll through it is so much fun.

Blu just needs more attention and a little bit more relevant in higher content.

Also, please make it able to join Eureka as Blu when he hits level 70, I want a full Blu BA run.

Lock blu out of ultimate and the current savage and just make it 80 ffs.

I understand that blu has the potential to make fights trivial, but noone cares about blu if you keep it this far behind.

Such a waste of potential, id love to mix up stuff by going blu for eureka or stuff.

I just want better diversity of damage options

How many 220 potency attacks are they going to give us?

In all honesty adding Blue Mage to the savage roster would be nice considering their adaptability to any given situation (Setup/Pre-battle), allowing them to change their Skill/Spell List according to the instance. As of the moment you 'can' technically play with a normal party for savage raids (With the only way being Party Finder or a group of friends) to experience old content together with one of their members being a Blue Mage or all Blue Mage party. However I do want to point out that they can play in a group content together regardless of roles, and it really won't do a major impact on the battle even if they are Synced to the level. However the 'OP' Spells can and will kill adds of the raid instance like XXXX of Meracydia in Coil of Bahamut. However when it came to Alexander raid, none of the adds (Goblins being the exception) are affected by it, because the mobs there are machines meaning Level 5 Death or Missiles/Launcher won't work on it.

Though in dungeon instances there can be issues arising when Blue Mage can potentially use spells such as Level 5 Death, Missiles and Launcher on a certain bosses that can mainly affect mid-bosses of the dungeon (if they can be affected by it), and not on some certain final bosses of the dungeon instance. In all honesty, that is fine in my opinion as they are just trash mobs you continuously pulling until you reach the boss. This is because in recent times many players are mass pulling which is both a boon and a curse in the game, since experienced players do it often and it may or may not confuse new players in Duty Roulette. Its good, because we can make up time for it and quickly rush to each bosses. It is bad because of miscommunication with new players, they can be a new tank or healer and they may not know what you are talking about. Experienced player have the responsibility to help and teach new players as well as adapting to their pace to help them slowly enjoy the game, it doesn't matter if you are a mentor or not as a community we have the sole obligation to welcome new players with open and understanding arms.

As for Ultimate fight, I believe the 5% Party bonus is somewhat necessary to help easily clear any sort of Ultimate content, though I would like to point out that they need Limit Break to even get past certain mechanics (The Minstrel's Ballad: The Weapon's Refrain (Ultimate)). In which case, its better to remove the Limited Job status as it has become a full fledged job by then. Besides that Ultimate Fights are about Strong DPS output with consistent survival against the mechanics of each of the phases.

Implementing and releasing a Limited Job System half done is not the best decision that favors both parties being SE themselves and the Community. As it turns out we have a few people discontent with the Limited Job provided as of now as well as the fact we cannot participate with current content with the new jobs. If Beastmaster and Puppetmaster were to be release, I can confidently say they can be implemented as a full fledged job without the need of the Limited Job system in place. My reasoning for this being that Beastmaster can do something similar to that of an Egi system but with emphasis on their pets, while Puppetmaster is more less about customizing your puppet and sending it out to battle depending on its setup which make make a new sub menu option specifically for that class like what we have for Blue Mage and its spell book.

In all honesty, Limited Job system is a money sink system which should be abandoned. As if we implement Blue Mage as a proper job, we will still have the same results. In a normal party they aren't as strong as the current classes and it may be an good temporary solution if they feel they have to rush it. As for balancing the class, it can be done via patches as there have plenty of patches ranging from ARR till now adjusting the current classes potency or changing its description/attacks. Blue Mage can be given the same treatment without the need of the Limited Jobs system.

To Quote a famous Game Designer, Producer & director. "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad" - Shigeru Miyamoto. The saying can be applied to what we have now. A rushed system already have some people dissatisfied with it and left a sour first impression. If Limited Job was done differently and maybe just maybe implemented well, in that reality I would defend it with my heart. However with how it is now it has really left a sour note on a great game with fair bits of criticism. I will continue to play the game regardless of the Limited Job system being there, just because one part of the content soured my experience, doesn't mean it ruined my whole day enjoying other parts of the game.

To end this post on a happy note, I do hope that Yoshida P. can hear us out about our concerns about Limited Jobs and maybe rethink this idea through and with a hope no longer continue the Limited Job system and instead continue to create more and more new jobs normally with each having their own exclusive side content, as the Limited doesn't dictate weather or not the job will have exclusive side content.
