Confidence, trust and communication. The three aspects of commitment. There is no commitment to be had if it's lacking either of the three. But while confidence and communication can..be worked out(in the case of communication..depends on the situation), lack of trust is the killer of all things. Unfortunately..lack of confidence goes hand and hand with lack of trust. This holds true for all forms of compansionship and not exclusive to relationships. I gotta keep pointing that out here because the point of this thread isn't entirely about getting with someone on a romantic level.

OK, guys. I think most of you are going all over about the subject whether or not this is for people looking for a rl relationship. As I stated on the blog. There're different reasons why people do it. IF you agree to EB someone, after spending time in game, you BOTH need to establish what the EB ceremony really means to you. You might want just want a friend, but the other person JUST want the items. You might want JUST a virtual relationship and the other person wants a rl stuff. COMMUNICATION. you need to talk about the subject. What you are looking for the EB. If you find out that later on that the other person is creepy or is just ignoring you or whatever, then it is obvious you will stop any type of contact.

You need to talk and say what you want when you meet with the person in game. I see that people are sharing their opinion which is good, but it appears that some of you think that by you saying something in this thread it is enough. It is not enough. If you are shy and end up spending time with a person and the other person takes things on a different tone which you did not want, speak up. In part, it is your fault for not saying it early. I am talking to one person that posted here and it is in the LS in Balmung, but she tells me that she rarely come to the official forums. She doesn't know the people comments on the forums in general and when she did the post, it was out of curiosity.

For you, I have some advice that will carry you a long way should you follow it: Clearly it seems you have some esteem issues(I haven't been following this thread much lately, so). They will listen to ALL of your troubles, but that has be to kept in check*. They will treat you like a king, but you better be treating them like a queen in return. There are nice girls out there looking for a man to save, let them save you - *all your internal issues and whatnot must be controlled or I promise you, you will lose her. (I have to be repetitive)To put it in the best way I know possible if you don't understand any of that - they are looking to turn you around. You keep laying the wrong way despite their efforts, their confidence in you and their ability to help you will deteriorate.

^ 100% this, some really good advice to heed.

When I first started dating, I used to love saying that I was looking for my Princess ^^;
a little quirk I used to make sure that when I found her, I'd do my utmost to fight for her & then keep fighting to KEEP HER.

Of course now the gender doesn't matter to me, guys can still be princess'. ;P

But my point is that whilst your partner can be amazing for your state of mind, you can't let any internal doubts stop you from achieving the happiness that you deserve by pushing them away, always let them know your feelings & when you feel weak, they can be there to keep you going. Relationships are between two people, effort's put in from both parties.
