Give me a reason how participation in an outside forum helps SE test a game that has its own forum. Do tell me.

so the people that got invited to the alpha test was a random thing? or something else? like people that were non-activated players, so they could see the game and hopefully they would come back to play the game and the community would increase? or is something else?
I'd assume Faiyez is referring to the idea that if you've participated in playing 1.xx for the past two years knowing full well that 2.0 is on the horizon and SE needs/wants/has been asking for feedback the entire time, yet you have never once visited/posted on their forums to do so... what makes you think their suddenly going to get all chatty now? Not saying I necessarily agree with that, but I can at least follow the logic.
Show me some " Inactive (screencap)" proof that inactives got in. Until there is solid evidence I will continue to think that only active players got in. ( just like how it's done in a courtroom) SHOW ME SOME PROOF BROTHA!

So probably not 100% random on that part but within those that answered the questions it probably went through the random selection which it needed to be those with 'active' account but we don't know what their definition of 'active' is as some just activated on square-enix account management screen without playing throughout the FFXIV 1.0 or quit at early point and still got in.Quote:
- Selection will be based on the answers submitted in the application. Those selected will be notified by email.
* Testers will not be selected on a first-come first-serve basis.
- Acceptance notifications will be sent to the email address registered as Email Address 1 on your Square Enix Account.
* If you have an active spam filter, please deactivate it or approve messages from the “square-enix.com” domain. - Selections will be made in each test phase, and the number of testers will be gradually increased. - Testers will be able to participate in testing for the duration of the Alpha Test. - You do not need to submit multiple entries for each test phase.
They are going to do the 24 hour testing end of this month so probably that's it for alpha testing?
Could link me to an outside forum, with an acceptance email, and showing that the account it not inactive with any and all account info edited out, like character name, SE id, email address, anything, then the person would not get banned.
Also people are speculating that saying they are in the alpha is in breach of the NDA, this has never been officially announced.
"As stated in the “FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Tester Agreement,” testers are prohibited from publicizing any proprietary information related to the Alpha Test on external sites. In the event that we confirm that infringement has occurred, your rights to be a tester will be revoked and your FINAL FANTASY XIV account will be suspended. "
An ohai I got in alpha hahahahahahaha is not publicizing of proprietary information.
Well, if your going to accuse SE for something they didn't do. Then this is an exception ( though they can probably give damn about what people like on the NA forums think anyhow! :P.) But if your going to claim something against somebody, be prepared to fork over some evidence behind your claim. That's all I'm saying.
Thats what I think happened. Just made a couple groups of wants and dont wants and then told the computer to piss people off :P
Yatta! Success! :D
Yoshi said/"was hoping" to get almost if not everyone (players) in the beta though so, I'll hold my sad puppy face till then.
