im not sure if this has been stated yet. but does everyone remember the game were playing? this is not wow we dont roll alts we lvl classes on one character. Most if not all of us have lvled a class we dont like to get abilitys for the class we DO like. how is this different? im sure there will be lvl 50 crossclass abilitys or maybe lvl 45. SO if a person want sto play drk than they shoudl start with pld or mrd for the crossclass skills. They will have to do it anyway in the future. If they want to lvl astro.. well guess what as a whm I lvled SCH to 50 for abilitys and i hate that class. Whats the difference here?

The other day I asked him if he had completed the pre-order of the bundle and it turns out he hasn't (I have been telling him to do it since the sell sites were up). He's waiting to hear news about DRK and some official requirements, since even the information given by SE themselves is being contradictory. Oh well.
He also said that he wouldn't mind to do the MSQ on another job if the devs implemented a way to "reset" your MSQ progression back to 0. (To explain, in FFXI you can choose to restart rank missions, the FFXI version of MSQ, back to 0, long as you switch allegiance to another nation. Your character 'forgets' having defeated the Shadow Lord, and all the history repeats itself).
So, if SE gave him a way to, say, start in Gridania, get through 2.55, unlock DRK, and then "switch" to Ul'dah and make him able to redo all the MSQ back from lv1 as DRK, he'd be overjoyed. Because he really wants to see that story through as a DRK.
And before someone else suggests it AGAIN, no. Watching cutscenes through the Undending Journey is in no way the same thing. Just think of the Instanced Battles we can't even ever repeat (like killing the Inquisitor in Coerthas. He likes that part in particular). -

You can do what I did with Uncharted. Grab some popcorn, pull up a chair and watch a movie.
Also some people might end up kicking your bud solely for watching the cutscenes and lagging behind. I wouldn't but I see people in Dungeon Discussion complain about Prae Prae all the time.

04-15-2015, 01:27 AMBluevannI've explained it to someone else before, but on FFXI you can use Great Sword from the start, because Warrior is a starting job and can use Great Sword. ^^; He just used GS-War till he was able to unlock DRK. And as of now, the news (as you can read from the title of this thread), is that XIV DRK will require lv50 and 2.55 completion to unlock. So IF this is how it'll be, he's gonna miss all the good part of the MSQ as DRK :/Quote:
