Translations (JP to English)

I rather Quest grind.. then killing the same mob 100 times before I head to the next camp, and I love storytelling, Quests give you that.. not killing mob after mob. Don;t get me wrong I love a good Camp and kill stuff.. but Killing stuff for a farmer or Saving a young lady from a Dragon Mission/Quest to me makes the game better.

Everyone needs to enter for the gear design contents that's up now so we can design for other parts in future!!

I'll enter my stuff once my stupid carpal tunnel syndrome is completely gone from both arms/hands....

Behind the FFXIV stage in gamescon2012 our secret base is like this. (In article Mocchi posted you may of already seen it.)

吉田Pがステージ上でプレイしているのは既にご覧になったと思いますが、ステージ裏では3名のスタッフがパーティメンバーキャラを操作しており、ライブデモ中に4人パーティを編成しています。ちゃんと現地（ドイツ）で操作しているのですよ！
I think you already saw YoshiP playing on top of the stage but behind the stage 3 staff members are controlling the party member characters and during the live demo they are making a 4 man party. We are controlling it at the location (Germany)!

下段の3枚のスクリーンが各PCのもの、中央と写真左上にあるのが吉田Pの操作している画面、奥の大きな画面が、会場スクリーンに映しだされている映像のミラーとなっています。
The bottom 3 screens are for individual PC and the center and top left in the picture is the screen YoshiP is controlling and the larger screen in the back is the mirror image of what's being shown at the stage screen.

本日は現地時間で14時半、16時、17時半の3回のステージが予定されています。無事に遂行されるよう皆さんの念をお送りください;)
Today at local time 14:30, 16:00, 17:30 we are planning presentation 3 times so please wish us luck that everything goes well ;)

My only concern is the extent to which quests become 'lifeless fetch stories'.
If i walk away from them feeling like i've attached myself to the NPC, and will remember them when i pass through there next, then mission successful.

I think the thing I'm most curious about in regards to quest-based leveling is are you going to be able to repeat those quests over your different classes? Other MMOs with quest-based leveling are setup to play one class per character. There has to be some kind of replayability on each class else we're going to be right back where we began with leve grinding and party grinding.

Is it ever unique to the class? No, at best, it was SWTOR with class-specific storyline. It probably will be where you will have to fetch 14 ash arrowheads for every job and redo the same areas over and over again. Also, think about how long they have had to remake this game. You really think a tight timeline is conducive to unique, fun, well-thought quests for every class? Doubt it.

Hence my deathly fear of quest-grinding.

"For each monster the balance is set where you can defeat by using about 5 weapon skills so, if you think of it as time it’s set so it’s done in about 20 seconds."

So looks like we will not be getting longer fights... just more trash mobs.

I like the idea of story driven progression. I would like to look forward to my adventuring days. ^^
