Thank you so much! I didn't know about this.

I believe the one in Namai lives with his mother. I don't know if she appears on the cutscenes because the civil Lupines always dresses the same so far, only one with different clothes was the one from All Saint's Wake.Quote:
Have we seen any female Lupin yet; I don't recall unless I missed them somehow.
I don't believe they are to interested in that to be honest. If event gear and emote rewards are anything to go by, the theme and setting of this game speaks loud, proud, and clear to the Japanese cute culture fans.

I want adult Viera models, the idea of children as a player character race is abhorrent to me.
I rather stay with the small and cute concept versions. Vieras are too sacred to be butchered by XIV's nonsense limitations. Vieras wear high heel footwear and other specifics that will not transition into this game since everything shares the same body. You may as well bunny ears and call yourself a Viera because that's exactly what they'll be.
Leave that beautiful race out of this game and get some work done with the current Character Creation.
I was kind of on the fence before, but the more I think about it the more I want it.
If they make Viera the next race, they better have male Viera. I'm not supporting a all female race. We had similar s*** like that in FFXI...I don't want that again in XIV.

I really dislike this thinking. D:
My comment above was purely tongue-in-cheek to try and point out the ridiculousness of the sentiment.
For better or worse, this game features only humanoid-based characters. Every single race is simply a variation on your basic Hyur model. With that said, I feel the races are distinct enough as there is plenty to set them apart. The different emotes alone are always fun for me when I fantasia.
No, Au Ra are not simply Hyurs that are using MGP horns. The horns look nothing alike. Just as I'm sure if Lupin ever came to be, they'd put more thought into it than simply slapping on the werewolf ears/costume currently in game. Just like I highly doubt Viera ears would look/function exactly like those stiff-ears we can get from the Saucer.

No need to thanks me.
Hey, I had no problem playing as any of the vanilla races. As it is, wearing the Succubus Horns is mostly close to original concept anyways so yeah, you're correct in that regard.
Sure why not. (Oh, are those horns on the side of your helm?)
Plus 1 for this response.
All I got out of it was that you somewhat agreed to a certain aspect, which in turn kinda made your earlier response more sarcastic than ironic.
Not necessarily. They just used a different concept art from the feral ones we see shared constantly.
They likely experimented with different types (viera, draconic race, whatever else) and then decided on draconic/succubi (literally just going off the text on the concepts, before someone points out they aren't dragons) and made a bunch of different ideas based on that. There is concept art of the cutesy Au Ra we got; we do not know if it came after the more feral designs, before, or at the same time.
Plus, there isn't that much that can change about viera. You can give them thicker/furrier/differently-tilted ears, maybe some fur on their skin, but there aren't really any wildly different directions to go like there was with the Au Ra horns and scales.
They're also a preexisting race, so their options are to stay true to it (take Elezen, make them slender and curvy, slap on some bunny ears/tail and heeled feet, incorporate some bunny-like facial features, done) or stray from the concept and possibly leave players disappointed.
This. I don't understand that logic at all, and probably never will. They have totally different bodies, emotes, faces, etc. It would probably still come up even if they went with the super cool design - "they're just a human with some huge horns slapped on and scary faces!"
It's not like they can go all out and make a totally non-humanoid race without severely hampering gear design time. Something like the Lupin could just be modified from the Roe models, but their heads would require a full remodel of each helmet...or just have helmets permanently hidden on them. And then you could make the argument that Lupin are just buff humans with a wolf head...it'll never end.
Here is my support.
That argument's been tossed on Viera fans from the beginning, too. "Just roll Elezen and wear the bunny ears! Boom, Viera!"
Well now that I'm aware of how short Viera really are (slightly taller than Hume's in XII), instead of rolling as an Elezen, you can roll as a Highlander donning rabbit ears :P
Will we maybe see the very first Viera in the last Return to Ivalice raid? Like they did with Yugiri, teasing her with clothes on and later on removing it while also announcing Au Ra?
Would be really fun to see if so. I could imagine also that we get to meet Viera's Lore wise, since we discovered Ivalice in FF14 more or less (map is still named ???), so I would probably say Viera's might come from that place. :D wishful thinking

;w; love this cute bun, let us be this cute bun
I will only be ok with viera being a playable race if they also add bangaa.

Make this race playable and I will switch to them in a heart beat.
Love me some Biera
The Viangaa (the race above image) was a really sassy April Fool's joke.
If they are the ones on the first picture and comes with butt slider I will support. The second picture definitely not. I know this is final fantasy but I'm tired of the lack of aggressive and badass that our races look, no more cute races plz.
A new race would be fun tho I don't see myself ever changing from Miqo. I'd prefer some more character customizations tho so that I don't look like every other catboi in game.
Viera yes please. Moogles could be interesting but we have them already
This race sounds like a furries dream. There’s already cat people, may as well have rabbit people, I guess.
Personally, I’d rather see a dwarf-like race. Lalafel is not it.
Figured it would be the bunnies. SE isn't Blizzard, they're not fond of "ugly"/monstrous races.
