Chocobo Dye Experimentation

12th Stage Finished.

Started Othard Blue, 11 Pears to get one new feathers message. Result: Peacock Blue.

:( And with this I'm going to call it on this attempt to hit black or near-black. Stuffing one deepening color at a time to near cap, then moving on to the next, does not work.

Rolanberry Red, Regal purple, and Storm Blue were the darkest colors I hit. Which does not make any sense with the amount of fruit I put in. There is some hidden aspect to at least the deepening fruits. As someone in the "other thread" said days ago.. they might deepen their respective colors and at the same time lighten the other colors, but not to the same extent.

I think it's going to take a method similar to Kerberus' to hit black or near-black. Level the colors out to hit a grey color, then work your way darker. If it's done one type of fruit per stage, you'll have to hit a grey, then cycle through the fruits using a different one each time and hopefully hit on a darker grey every 3rd? stage.

Well, I haven't done anything more yet. Gonna run some roulettes and think about what to do now. Eat a lemon and work on something else, or continue and map pears after Turquoise Green.

I've got went from millioncorn yellow to coeurl yellow unlike others from just feeding the apples, then went to pumpkin orange next time I fed apples

Just fed apples to my Dalamud Red choco, Got the new feathers message after 4 apples. I'll follow up with the results in the morning.

I got Blood Red, and here is where i went next...

I'm certain i'm going to get Dalamud Red, and my dyeing days will be complete...for now

Here is my updated progress, which I'll start from Blood Red pure apple line once more:

Blood Red --> Used 3 Berries = Dalamud Red
Dalamud Red --> Used 2 Plums = Blood Red
Blood Red --> Used 13 Pears = Plum Purple

I didnt think I would be stuck on that loop for long...if I was, it would be interesting. (On a side note, I would say to anyone stuck in a loop just to keep trying the same fruits. You should break out of it eventually, but my opinion is if you keep mixing fruits when you're in a loop...you'll be stuckforeva).

I'm predicting I should probably reach apple green, which then my next step would be to see if I can reverse myself down to Desert Yellow, then maybe go back up the apple to see if there is any consistency. Results in 2016.

When I saw Plum Purple, I was very tempted to see if Berries would bring me up the Berry line (almost like a shortcut to Royal Blue) or if Pineapple brought be back downward (Lavender Blue/Purple)...but I'm staying steady with Pears right now.

Opo Opo Brown --> Used 4 Pears = Moss Green
Moss Green --> Used 7 Pears = Cactuar Green
Cactuar Green --> Used 20 Pears: No new feather message (possible hard green cap? I thought that was apple green?)
Used 10 Berries: New Feather message, stopped.

Decided just to go up berry line now with Cactuar Green, see where I end up. Maybe I end up with Royal Blue?

Anyone mind helping me trying and figure out the route to get from Deepwood Green to Grape Purple?

I see that I can take the deepwood to currant but I'm unsure of if I were to get there what I would be feeding to go from Currant to Grape. Obviously if there's a way I can feed to get me more directly there then I'm all for it as I've gotten 10 other colors from the default trying to hit this.

Update I am currently looping around a little seeing if my back and forth results in similar things... I must say what I have found does contradict parts of the map.

Results for my last session came in as Turquoise Green. Seems to be pushing into blues finally. I'd like to try and find the other greens, but im not sure I can get there with single fruit changes from here. Im guessing another berry proc would put it to blue, so maybe ill try apples from here. Ill report back with whatever I get.

Get to Currant, from there Valfruit "should" take you to Grape. I can't guarantee it though.
