Im trying not to read to deep into this topic as it will just wind me up , because of issues i had with final fantasy 11.
Not everyone has same amount of time to put into the game, in final fantasy 11 i would loved to have had an ageis or excalibur sword but being realistic , that was never ever going happen for me, thats why i brought gear to spec my self they way i wanted i was a pld with a +2 hp tick regen rate because of gear after so many years of play but what i really needed was more mp refresh tick rate , but i guess that would make things godly for paladin so realism sets in.
I dont mind seeing great gear but i dont want see gear come into game that players will never be able to get even if they play over 5 years to get it , and i dont want see nm come into game that take over 48 hours and not been defeated , even though i only read stories about that one because i never had chance to fight something like that.
That i guess is my hang up about final fantasy 11 , if it comes into 14 i guess i just have to accept it and get best out of game i can like i did with my paladin for ff11.
Also i made the paladin the way i wanted to , it may not have been the way it should be, i say this because in reality i still belive there not perfect way to have a job in ff11.
Do best you can for your play style and dont let other tell you it should be like something else that is lesson i learned from final fantasy 11.
Ok this mini rant over, but seriously i hope game turns out for the best whatever the team does.
And im in a happy mood even though i ranting so dont take me over seriously : )
no content mmo or otherwise should exclude players... why?
simple less players access, less players can do it.
You end up screwing everyone over because of not enough people to do the content.
and stop labling ppl or doing sterotyping casuals.
I had the time ti play ffxi but I still couldn't do most content because There was not enough players who could access it. Why should I get outed from content due to everyone has a full group.
Ill try and be constructive.
If they make everything for what you call "casual", the players with more time in their hands will be done with the game in a few days. This is not healthy for the game.
The best solution is to make large events or chain of events that leads to bigger rewards in the long run requiring to complete step by step every single event in a chain. then casuals can advance slowly while people with more time can advance at a higher rate , the problem with this is that people will be done to fast , unless there is a wide range of activities to do.
This is only achievable if developers update content frequently.
I just posted a topic in quest forumn a few moments ago , about worldwide events where everyone works together towards a goal , this would be good for the game in my view for both types of player.
Th fact that ffxiv bombed so hard is absolute proof that a casual final fantasy game does not work. Chasing warcraft leads to failure. If this was ffxi-2 like it should have been the subscriber base would register in the one million plus, even before the ps3 release.....and this is a conservative estimate.
Thinking otherwise is just a sign of blatant stupidity..
you know ffxi is going thru its second merger not even 2 years after its first.... alot of ppl are quiting the game even befire the "nerfing" bwcause ppl barely could do anything.
also zk i'm not saying make content easy like ppl assume that is what casual just means. Just content anyone can access. the so called hardcores want their own content.... whoch is also not healthy for the game, because even then some "hardcores get outed because of nolt enough groups. Which get full fast.
