Sure is productive discussion about the funny fantasy game we play online, in here.
Wow, this has got to be the most “thin-skinned” take I ever read. There is a reason as children we’re taught the old rhyme “I’m rubber your glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you.”
Essentially it’s meant to teach us to not care what other people say or think about us. My identity isn’t going to be hurt if you call me “Ugly stupidface” or whatever insult there is. I know who I am, and I’m SECURE in my identity. Being hurt by an insult, especially by a faceless Internet person, is just the receiver’s INSECURITY showing.
Bottom line is the American voice actor for Wuk Lamat is not qualified for this role because they are a middle-aged white North American man, doing an impression of a woman, attempting to do a voice for a young latina South American woman, and by their own admission their physical male attributes make it hard for them to do the kinds of sounds necessary for this role.
Regardless of what he chooses to call himself, his vocal cords did not get the message that they should go along.
