Dragoons... how do you feel post 4.0?

The 4th combo enders are our main source of damage behind auto attacks so it seems that was the best way to buff without doing too much. 70 Potency every 5 GCDs might be large but this is me being hopeful, I'm quite livid atm. No LotD changes, No way to keep up meter and lets be honest this will not close a 10% dps gap. If it does then I will eat my shorts.

I wanted a dragon dive buff q.q 300 potency with a 2min cd is just no bueno...

Well buffs ARE buffs. I wasn't expecting lance mastery. That's a whole lot of derp since it just inflates the problem of BoTD falling off then you can't use 4 and 5 of the combo. I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS!
Like really, all the feedback and freaking lance mastery?

Meh on Sonic Thrust extending BoTD timer. Why? Gerk will get used like every 3 packs and you'll miss a nastrond use between pulls. This ignoring the fact that we preforming a 2 button AoE destroys our TP.

I was expecting lackluster. I got lackluster. Dealing with it but still annoyed.

Thou we can kind of use sonic trust to save our BOTD in a cheese way since it's a 2 buttons combo oh well I survived 2.0 I can..do.this....I think... estinien hold hand!

Lowering NIN's second highest source of damage output, and raising DRG's second highest source of damage output is moving them closer to the same central point. Instead of NIN+MNK being close in damage, it'll be NIN+DRG, because of their support. They've changed the paradigm from 3.xx to 4.xx, which is a whole other argument of right and wrong, and I feel you on that. QoL should be considered, but I also think they're more time-consuming and delicate changes. Things you can't just throw together like potency and percentage buffs.

A buff is a buff, i gladly take it, sure it didnt fix the core problem but hey, better than nerf.

Its like ordering a large pizza but they give you medium size instead, so you complain and they give you another medium size pizza.... Not what i want but, iam not complaining lol

It's unrealistic to compare 2.0 DRG to the current piece of shit it is - if you worked your ass off for positionals in ARR pre and post final coil you could at least do respectable damage.

How they settled on lance mastery and more frequent enmity reduction is absolutely staggering. The only lasting upside to this patch is that junking all those spears when the servers come up will at least free up space on my retainers.

No LotD changes means any fight with long phase changes will still be extremely annoying when it comes to building Eyes.

Potency buffs are nice, so are the QoL changes, but they don't change the things that bother me about the class since 4.0 which is, finding ways to not make all your efforts building Eyes wasted.

Susano Ex, when you're in a party that pushes phases, and maybe Deltascape v4.0 are the fights I'm looking at right now, though DRG will be a bit nicer in dungeons now.

It's a shame though that NIN is much more flexible and lenient than DRG so will actually perform better in fights in general. Also they've made it so that the competition is now for the bottom instead of the top. NIN can also manage agro and I'm pretty sure it is still a head above DRG in damage. Also trick attack is still stronger than everything we have combined (even piercing) by like .2% rDPS. Well a buff is a buff I guess, just a bit disappointed that they pretty much buffed BRD/MCH and we are just their butler.

I did some data on the 75th percentile and 95th percentile of fflogs using the statistics page (these are the most accurate percentiles on average since 75th is the average player and 95th is a good player sans padding) which has about 20k entries for each class on both susano and lakshimi on average (RDM/SAM on 50k and MCH at 7k) and combining offensive utility contribution with personal damage BRD is the 3rd highest contributor behind NIN and SAM if they have a DRG, while 5th without one. DRG is 6th either way, but it's the difference between 6th by like 30 dps and 6th by like 100 dps so I honestly thing this could cause a meta change. MCH is 7th or 9th depending on whether it has disembowel and based on these buffs they might improve quite a bit.

But if you play DRG to be a powerhouse, I've got some bad news for you.... they are firm on their stance and this patchwork fix is just to hold us over until savage is completed, but shows that they are trying to make DRG the new NIN: Super mobile and flexible in fights while being convenient to play (lol) and providing more offensive support.

Mmmm... I don't know about the validity of that statement. Final Coil, maybe. But I'm not going to agree with anyone saying that Heavy Thrust, and Impulse Drive problems were better than this. All opinion, but I think not being able to even begin your rotation is worse than having difficulties with it.
