First is Esochemical through 60 roulette (fitting name for the place) been running it all day to rush my relic I get a Drk, Whm, myself as a bard to break the tediousness of grinding as a tank and a Drg. Right off the bat Drk doesn't have Darkside I ask them nicely "Hey can you please put Darkside on?". Get ignored. So I can't vote kick him...wonderful I look at the healer throws a Regen and uses Medica II and spams Cure II he's always oom asking me for a ballad after every pull I'm doing the majority of the AoE because the Drg...Where do I even start with this guy I'm sorry if i'm being mean but they never used Blood of the Dragon or Heavy Thrust or Disembowel just their 1-2-3 combo. I ask the Drg "Please can you use Disembowel or something! tank chimes in "God you're needy aren't you?" The attitude in here is so bad the Drg just responds with a /laugh emote. First boss is dying SO slow I ripped hate in an instant, tanks yelling at me in party chat because he can't hold threat since he has just Grit no Darkside and no actual tanking accessories. We get through the first boss after 2 wipes (I had a lot of patience since it was right before reset) we get to the part with the nodes and the adds I tell the Whm can you please DPS, use Holy responds with "lol I can barely keep the tank up I can't DPS" ugh make it end already! Get to the second boss and I use quelling strikes, get my DPS going and the healer lets the tank die: que raging at friends, healer spamming heals on the group spamming Medica II demanding Mage's Ballad or i'll get kicked, we wiped because I was tanking the boss, healer didn't have Swiftcast and never bothered to rez the tank. I ended up leaving since we were in there for almost 45 minutes I couldn't take it I took the penalty and just went to bed i'll just get the esoterics tomorrow.
The worst part of this whole thing though was the Dragoon was a mentor....I just can't even fathom that he never AoE'd, never used his toolkit how do these people get into dungeons and think it's okay? Worst part is they all had 220-240 gear so they have done the expert dungeons. -

Just, just wow. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I just can't with people. Just now did a Weeping City run with my fc friend, and we had a healer who barley healed me, and when we were at ozma wouldn't eat the orbs. I asked if they could help out and they said they did so basically lying to us. I just can't with people.

And it annoys me to no end when DRKs won't use Darkside. Especially at level 60. You lose access to some of your most important skills, and your most potent combo (DA + Souleater). Like, why?! And with mentors, the amount of good mentors I've encountered in this game is not nearly as many as I should be encountering. :/ Pretty sure most mentors just want the shinies that come with mentor status, and no actually help people. -

I wanted to try my hand at tanking and had the urge to finally, after many years, give it a shot. I was terrified of queuing through Duty Finder alone (thank you, thread) and asked in FC chat if anyone would mind tagging along with me through Sashtasha. I quickly got both DPS and a healer (none of whom I really knew) and was good to go! I was nervous since they were kind of "strangers" and this was foreign territory for me.
What followed was the most comfortable and natural run I've ever had. Tanking wasn't anywhere near as horrifying as I thought, and I quickly picked up a "second nature" relationship with it. I learned to switch targets for emnity, when to pop cooldowns, and how to position. I only lost a single mob, and even then, it was quickly retrieved. They were all so patient when I had some blank moments, and no one ran ahead even when I paused to get my thoughts together. It was wonderful!
Here's to hoping my luck continues on my quest to becoming a Paladin! :D -

I have so many Wiping Shitty stories, I don't even know where to start. But my latest run featured, among other things (with me as BLM):
- Me: Wait, why am I tanking Forgall? -face gets bashed in, dies-
- Wiping to Forgall, and I'm literally the last person left alive, before the adds chew me up.
- When Calofisteri died, I was the only person in my alliance left standing. Everyone else wiped, another alliance picked up one of our healers, who used LB3, and then everyone else died again somehow.
Walked out of there with 4 comms, as a BLM. The whole run was so ridiculous, I can't stop laughing somehow. -

Been running Weeping City to try to get the last item in my caster set.
Run it over 10 times since Tuesday and it only dropped once, and another caster got it.
The main problem is that some tanks seem to be aiming for gear that drops for the first two bosses. The last 4 times I've run it, the a tank leaves right after the first or 2nd boss.
We had to had to do the 2nd boss minus a tank because none would come.
I wish there was some kind of extra penalty for people who leave within 5 minutes of a boss being defeated. Like abandoning your group immediately just because you didn't get what you want should count toward your once a week gear drop. Or something...I don't know...
Had a similar incident in Weeping City. My entire team died in Ozma with just me (WHM) left alive with two Singularity Fragments on me.Quote:
