I thought of one more off the top of my head that you forgot, im sure there are a few others too.
"Farm group, lootmaster is for _____ only."(usually _____ is a crafting mat, but not always)
Translation: You can trust me, honest.
Expert Roulete Fractal down in under 15 minutes.
And what a pleasant bunch of people to run with too :D
It's a good day.
This weekend will be a weekend of alt adventures. Taking my BRD alt through 2.x right now (whoo, almost to 2.4); was doing roulettes, and I got Stone Vigil in Leveling. Alright, not that big of a deal... until I realized that I was in a party with a bot PLD and a baby CNJ healer that didn’t realize job stones don’t auto-equip. They had their stone, but it wasn’t equipped. Can’t fault them really, since they didn’t realize their CNJ gearset didn’t have it registered, and they had unlocked BTN, I believe they said, before queuing in.
In all fairness to the CNJ, they actually did really well for being a CNJ in a level 41 dungeon. Very receptive to advice and we even found a use for Repose, because the tank was a bot that would Flash one and then single target one mob while popping every cooldown he had (actually, he popped Rampart, Sentinel, FoF, Tempered Will, and Awareness before the barrier had even dropped in the beginning—that was my tell we had a bot on our hands). :v Had some wipes because extra things got pulled, but still managed to brute force our way through most of it. Was just annoyed at getting another bot tank in a dungeon this week. First was on my own CNJ alt, and now on my BRD alt. Even on Hyomin, I’ve only gotten 1 bot ever in a dungeon (healer bot... we aren’t counting Frontlines here), and that was back when I first started playing this game.
Bah. Oh well, onwards with 2.4!
If I had to take a wild guess, the bot just kept grabbing mobs, and you can't kick in combat.
I guess I have a story where people thought I was bad but I wasn't because I couldn't do something?
Was in Rath normal, first ever attempt, I died. I laid there. Someone told me to just return. I was like "I don't have that option." Then they started to explain it to me like I never died before. I literally didn't have a message pop up, or a thing on the side that you would click to get that message pop up.
At then end, it finally came up for me and they're like "YOU JUST DID IT." I'm sorry that I found a bug, I guess?
I've been hesitant on doing Rath Ex because of that issue.
Not really Duty Finder, but my new FC and I were trying to unlock & clear dungeons for a sprout we have in our FC.... when our leader accidentally Q'd us up for a dungeon without checking the Unsnych'd box:
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.n...7F6D2E7C39FD8/
Yes, we got to, and killed the last boss, with zero tank and zero heals while synch'd.
Now for an actual Duty Finder tale:
Got Stone Vigil (Hard) today, my first time. I was a SCH with 110 (not 120) gear on, and there was a tank wearing Ironworks. One of the DPS kept pressuring us to GOGOGOGO and on the pack of 3 Wyverns after the 2nd boss, we died twice because the DPS were AoEing when it was clear that the wyverns just plain hit too hard. I asked them after the first death if we could please focus the Wyverns, but nope. 2nd time we died, one Wyvern had 2% health, and the other had 10% health, each DPS was on their own Wyvern, and the last DPS standing didn't think to switch targets and take the one Wyvern out with him. Literally one or two hits would have killed it too.
They kept pressuring the tank to "PULL MOAR!" even though I was wearing less-than-capped gear and I was obviously still learning the job, because SCH is a job that is pitifully easy until Lv45+ then they throw everything at you at once, AND I was new to the dungeon as well.
Between auto-instigating combat and not rolling on loot, there wasn't much of an opportunity to kick them until we were almost at the final boss. By then, there's not much point; we've done the entire dungeon. I'm guessing the bot was programmed to touch any and all treasure coffers, but never roll, because it also went for the ones in the side rooms that contain the crafting pieces. But it wouldn't roll on them, so we had to wait for things to time out.
I'm not sure if you can kick players when they're KO'd. The bot would never release but lie there waiting for a raise. And then barrel off the minute they were up.
Is it common for people to get carried in the main scenario roulette? Last night one person was running to keep up but did absolutely nothing to contribute to battle. Then again today, same thing happened. : 0
Haven't posted for a long while.
Got WHM to 70. Been practicing with it. I don't mind it. I think I'm not terrible at it.
Do a Tsuku farm with fc mates tonight. Get a co-heal who came in as AST, no biggie. They went Noct, perfect (I usually go AST-Noct in there). We clear. Coheal changes to WHM but I didn't realize until we were loaded in. No biggie, I guess. We clear again.
First run, we get to Zenos:
Coheal: Don't heal this part
Me: *confused because there's a lot of aoe damage* O...kay
One dps dies.
Two dps dies.
We nearly wipe.
Coheal: whaaat? that's never happened before looool
We clear, surprisingly:
Coheal: Kiko do you main healer?
Me: No, blm first, then AST. Why?
Coheal: just watching you
Me: ...ok
So the next run went.. horribly. I died a bunch because I was getting tired and realizing that coheal was not healing much.
RDM raises me every time.
Two dps die, I get them up, I die, RDM raises me, my ogcd heals are on cool down, I'm mostly out of mana, coheal is still casting stone, a medica here or there, aero 2. I get raised by RDM unfortunately right into an aoe and get killed. RDM raises me, I get the fking stack marker on me, ogcds are still on cool down, coheal not healing me up, I die. Coheal continues to cast stone and aero 2. I have no mana, I die again because I'm trying to figure something out. A bunch of dps die. WHM coheal uses lb3. I try to keep everyone up, get turned around on positions and die. RDM raises me. Coheal keeps casting stone. One of the tanks die, the RDM dies. More dps die. Coheal keeps casting stone, casts medica, casts cure on herself a bunch, keeps casting stone over and over and over until she dies. We wipe. I leave b/c I'm pissed off.
Coheal: why do u die so much kiko?
Now, I 100% admit that I died a lot because of my own stupidity and inexperience as white mage in harder content. I've cleared the fight a bunch but I was getting confused and panicking. I accept that. But dude - she cast almost no heals. The odd Assize here, the odd medica there, Asylum once at Zenos and once during the final phase. She's in full 370 gear, including Diamond pieces. Numbers show that she was somehow doing more HPS than me but not by much. Her DPS was /much/ higher though (for obvious reasons). Check her logs, she's 96th percentile for WHM damage but... 11th percentile for Healing (wonder why).
Now, I know I'm not a perfect white mage. I've only been 70 for a week. I'm getting used to the class, but up until this point I haven't had that much trouble. I clear the fight consistently with AST without trouble and I absolutely don't mind being given pointers if someone sees I'm doing something wrong (maybe they think that they shouldn't have to give pointers in Ex content? I suppose that's fair).
Someone absolutely went on blacklist. "Do you main healer" and "just watching you" put me on edge and probably contributed to me messing up, as I was watching what she was doing thinking maybe she knows something and I could learn. In the end, it just.. was horrible :(
Looking at the logs, I see where they did things differently and where I could improve. I know I wasn't keeping my dots up enough and part of that is, I think, I was just.. panicking I guess and feeling very self-conscious over their comments of "I'm just watching you."
I am sorry for the horrible experience :( Honestly 2 WHMs is not the best team in any ex trial or raid but Tsu Ex doesn’t require a lot of healing except in few phases. Btw really often DPS make mistakes and get caught in the “fans” spinning, light or whatever so probably was not entirely her or yours fault (: Anyway most important thing for healers other than skills is to have synchronism, WHM are not optimal in phases when you have to run or dodge but AST/SCH are perfect so that’s matter of adaptation mostly :) btw during Zeno’s AST can solo heal trust me and in add phase the WHM should solo heal so the AST can spam gravity :p
Anyway don’t mind about her anymore just forget it ^^
Leveling my baby RDM, get Dusk Vigil in leveling roulette, whatever.
Get a tank/healer couple.
Most of you can already see how this is going.
Tank has overgeared for this dungeon just by looking at him, no problem. But he dies on the snoll group past the first big furry dude.
Okay... Guess the tank kinda sucks.
Get to the first boss, everyone seems to be low health constantly, I can't help with heals as Vercure is a 54 ability. But we kill it.
Hallway with the large amount of zombie spawns, healer's going bananas with Holy, yay!
But things are still taking forever to die.
We get to second boss, second boss, tank is dropping like a potato, healer dies quickly, me and the samurai who has come in to replace the two other dps who left in frustration before then manage to burst Ser Braindrain down before he turns us into ribbons after the tank dies.
It's at this time I look at the healer.
... Ilvl 37 mainhand.
... ...
We stagger into the boss room, we try it once because, whatever, we may be able to deal with the gryphon fast enough as both me and the samurai have decent deeps.
Surprise!
Healer dies on first gaol, tank dies immediatly after.
I initiate a vote-kick on the healer at that point, it passes (the sam was laughing when he found out the weapon problem) tank boyfriend leaves too, and the replacement tank/healer were baffled as to what happened and even more baffled about the ilvl 37 healer.
Birb went down fairly quickly with 4 competent people.
This reminded me of the Tamtara run I did a few days ago on my alt.
Just quickle glanced at the healer, saw the CNJ class and the Novice gear, "Ok, I go a bit slower, not a worry"
Pulling mobs a little slower than normal and notice my health dropping like the panties on a stonesthrow strumpet.
Muscle memory takes over as I watch the healer....
Cure..Cure..Cure..Cure..cure.... what is this? Constantly running low on MP so I look again at the healers gear... Weathered Cane equipped!!!
I link the item in party chat and say "Dude, you gotta replace that asap" my potions healed more HP than the healer.
Ended up going dog slow as the healer tried valiantly, but struggled on even small pulls. We eventually made it out and got an auto translate "I'm sorry" from the healer.
I can only hope they looked up how their weapon affects their healing potency for the future.
Had some pretty good DPS which really helped get us through
This has probably already been commented on but wow. Wiping to the atomos part in WoD because people couldn't step on the glowy pads is not something I ever thought I'd experience. Mostly because I didn't know that particular wipe existed. Way to surprise me, ARR content. Yes. :/
I wish people were good with rath. If I got a clear everytime I did it I'd have 3 mounts by now. Nonstop trying to get a clear and nothing. People leave after one wipe, or flat out troll and kill people. Maybe rath IS too freaking hard and needs a nerf. I'm broken man. Nonstop for this whole week and every party i try to start fails. I have gotten the worse luck in this ever. I had some progress parties but no clears. And before anyone says it. If I could solo the damn thing I would. I'd have the mount by now. Sorry. I'm triggered, beaten and just done. Extreme sad face.
Steps of Faith today.
ugh.
I Q'd up for Trials Roulette as my 50 SCH. Got Steps of Faith, which was face-palm worthy enough.
The first wipe, we just utterly failed. Half of the time, nobody on cannons, tanks not bringing mobs to the front, DPS focusing on the adds and not even touching the dragon.
So we wipe and we try again, and we somehow managed to do even worse even after the mechanics were explained, and a couple sprouts were getting mad, we were saying things like "use the cannons, get on the chain traps" and they were going "dunno wtf that stuff is!" .... I made a scathing remark about how 3 years ago we passed this stuff with ease and people actually looked up fights they didn't know.
After the 2nd wipe, we vote abandoned the duty and I Q up again.
And......
Steps of Faith.
not.....again.....
At least it's an entirely different group this time.
I held my head in both of my hands sighing in exasperation. I told everybody what we should be doing, and the newbies again seemed clueless.
And then I saw that the dragon was going down at a pretty good clip, and we kill him before he even breaks the last blue barrier.
After me explaining the fight? 1 Commendation. Just one. I'm like "...really? okay whatever. I'm just glad that's over with".
Lmao, I really hate players that refuse to gear up those class properly and it’s frustrating (: The other day I did Keeper of the lake and the healer (I was tanking, PLD ilvl 368) got a ilvl 42 weapon and I was shocked lol it took almost a half an hour pulling mobs 3/4 by time but we made with just one wipe :p
Depends on what exactly we're talking about. Jewelry I can understand, esp <50. If I see a Lv45-49 player, or even a 50 sprout with Level 20-30 jewelry, I just shrug, because that stuff is annoying to get. Now, if it's not a sprout and they're Lv50+ then yeah I kinda expect to see jewelry because I know you can buy jewelry either with tomestones or even the NQ jewelry from Ishgard.
But a WEAPON? Heck no. That's ridiculous. They can at the very least get THAT.
So a little glue, to see if we can piece you back together. Its a different style of fight then most people are used to, and on top of that a lot of people arent good at adapting to changes. A tiny bit of PF luck and youd be done/almost done by now sure. But this fight will get easier. Even if player skill never catches up player gear will. Those attacks that are one shotting the DPS/healers will probly be survivable with another 30 ilvls - you know, the increase that we'll get with 4.4 later in september. And if you set your goal as 4.4 that also gives you the benefit of looking for specific friends to do this with who you can(hopefully) trust not to completely suck. But failing nonstop for a week or two would drag on anyone, so maybe take a day or two off and chill?
Havent gotten steps recently in a trials roulette, but its happened plenty of times. Before the fight can start i typically ask "who wants cannons/dk? i can do whatever" to try to prompt the group into planing it out. If they seem clueless, ill make sure i take one of those roles and explain(short version) what to do. If its really bad and they dont seem like they can get it, ill offer to unsync the fight with em afterwards. Level 70 BLM firepower lets you skip a good number of mechanics.
Just want to apologize to everyone in Dun Scaith raid yesterday, especially my party. (I know the chance for anyone from that raid reading this is very low, but still)
It was the worst performance I've ever put on in this game. Constantly eating AoEs, failing mechanics, etc. I don't know what caused me to play that badly. Playing at 3 AM with lack of sleep was probably one of the factors.
Special mention goes to the healers. I died like, more than 15 times during that raid. And our healers keep ressing me without saying anything, no doubt straining their MP (and patience) because of it. Were I in their position, I'd probably stop ressing after the tenth death. Your patience was angelic, Mr./Ms. healers.
We cleared the raid, but it left me feeling so useless that I didn't touch the DF for the rest of the day.
Thanks for that xD. I seriously am taking a break from the boss for a few days, as you're right. Broken to the extreme. So a break is needed, it's just I rarely go into extremes like this you know? And hearing about Rath and being the huge capcom fanboy I am. I was extra hyped and needed to jump on this event. I just want a few wins and almost killed myself on my PS4 to do it. But you're right, a tiny break will do. - Hug-
Honestly some ppl are just lazy and other are just lazy lol
Personally when I level up a class to have the right gear is a priority, I update constantly all my classes tier by tier even if I don’t play them ( I play some alt in dangeoun and roulette by like I never play NiN or MCH still I have them geared up to 365 xD) like I farm Tsu and I got every single weapon. Probably some people don’t understand gear relevant or don’t care (:
There are days where I'd rather deal with the roulette penalty than dealing with idiots. Today was one of these with my WAR in Dusk vigil.
So first of all, AST and MNK come from the same server and were apparently talking to one another.
We pass the first boss and I start to notice that the heals are kinda weak. I also notice that the AST hasn't used Aspected benefic at all.
When I asked him about it he said : "Sorry no speak english hablo espanol". A comedian huh...
He proceeds to use the skill only once in battle but then called the skill useless. Then I checked his gear and wouldn't you know it...he had 30 lvl gear.
Needless to say that I quit. Also he didn't throw any cards or anything.
I wished I could have kicked him but with his buddy, I'm not sure it would have worked.
Guess you see new kinds of stupid everyday.
I'm starting to wonder if people even understand what a countdown is...
Every time now that I initiate one (10s usually), there's a RDM that casts Jolt at 6 seconds left, or something similar. One of these days I'll just let them eat the Tengu's tank buster...
This game makes me hate ppl...every day I encounter someone who makes this a miserable experience. It's gotten pretty bad lately and I don't know why.
Just had Halatali normal mode in Duty Roulette. Tank and one DPS were a couple if I can judge by there last name. Both of them were above lv 30 and still had no job crystal. She an arcanist, he a gladiator.
I was in there as AST in the healer role cause yeah...I'm a healer. What happens? The mobs take their sweet time dying and after two groups I realize why. The arcanist mainly casts Physick on the tank. Like...WHY? Told her to be a DPS and leave healing to me as I got it covered being in the healer role and all....no reaction and I still see Physick being cast.
Decided to leave then cause I really don't like wasting my time in a low level dungeon because some ppl don't know what they are playing.
It's always Brayflox.
Leveling Astrologian now. Hit Brayflox, first go. As I told my friend: The only thing that flashes more then this Paladin I had was a drunk man in Los Angeles. Constantly losing aggro, I'm having to try and keep alive a Bard whose currently getting her face smashed in by two adds as this Paladin focuses on ONE. It doesn't get better during first boss, we get past. Ok. Keep going, all good. And then the river. The one to the giant Salamander that Aiatar interrupts. It's always right here let me tell you. During my levelling of WHM the tank accidentally pulled one mob too many, got facerolled, and I barely managed to keep the DPS alive before they ran back.
This was a disaster. Unmitigated disaster (they didnt rampart either I think). Lost both DPS at this point, the tank, managed to rez one DPS, someone I lived and had a DPS alive. Finally one of my DPS told 'em "use flash. Liberally."
Why is it always goddamn Brayflox. If we get Dancer as a healer, please oh lord let it be gotten at level 60 so I don't have to suffer my Brayflox curse again.
Kind of like those RDM(why is it almost always a RDM?) that decides to do the ready check, and countdown, for the tanks.
Was helping a friend do his first runs of Deltascape(he tends to not be able to keep his attention on one thing/character for long...but he's getting through the stuff, if slowly), and in D3, a RDM instantly does the ready check(okay, this one admittedly isn't that bit a deal...though I did hesitate until it was almost timed out to say yes), then instantly does the countdown. Both my friend and I were the tanks....I was main tanking, and I was so tempted to just let them tank it(one of our other friends was a healer...she was encouraging me to let them die since we were in PS chat together).
Oh, and the best part of that run...the RDM died to SO many avoidable mechanics...and got turned into a frog almost every single time when you could avoid it.
If he was flashing a lot, then the mobs should have been GLUED to him.
Did he not have Shield Oath up? Two flashes should hold the whole group for quite some time if you have ShO up.
Anyways, I had a dumb paladin today while leveling my AST, only it was Haukke Manor and not Brayflox which is worse in some ways.
The dude used his Shield Wall Limit Break "on cooldown".
The very SECOND that first Limit Bar filled, he used it on Shield Wall. All three times in the whole dungeon.
Though I will admit that in a Brayflox run after, I had this SMN that kept summoning and re-summoning their summon during battle. We'd pull, and they'd throw a few Ruins... and then I saw them casting Summon when they already had Ifrit out. One time, during the first boss, they had Ifrit out, and then they summoned Emerald Carbuncle (lol?) and then they resummoned Ifrit... only to, about 30 seconds later, decide they want to summon Ifrit again.
I was like "..... what is this guy DOING!?"
Needless to say, it took us about 10 minutes longer than usual to get through the dungeon and that was with me throwing as much Malefic as I safely could. I'm willing to bet I was doing comparable DPS that the SMN was doing.
Oh wait, I also forgot about the OTHER Brayflox run, where somehow the PLD tank was keeping enmity and everything, but he was somehow managing to dump ALL of his TP and I watched him for several seconds, and I cannot figure out just what this guy was doing that he was running out of TP. I didn't see him doing his AoE weaponskill. I don't recall running out of TP like that on my Paladin unless I was spamming that "new" AoE....
That sucks. I think I remember partying with you on one of these practice parties while I was learning how to dodge.
I already got my mount and have helped my FC friend get the clear, so if I do run into your PF group, I'll see if I can join and help out. Hopefully I can bring a friend xD
I ran a Brayflox the other day where Aiatar literally knocked itself out of its poison pools* - I have never seen it do this before and wouldn't have thought it possible. The tank simply let the dragon sit in its poison so thoughtlessly. In my experience when I tank it, or have run with others tanking it, Aiatar is safely led around its pen for exercise at the right moments, leaving space for DPS and healer to do their thing. I'm not sure how the healer coped psychologically with the tank's shenanigans throughout the dungeon, but they got my comm as everyone lived, even the tank. :D
The kicker was this: the tank says "gg everyone" in Say at the end. Healer promptly exits, followed swiftly by two DPS. :D
* I say literally. It may be I was so traumatised by the paladin I wasn't sure what I was witnessing.
So for the first time I've been kicked from a dungeon. And it was funny.
Stone vigil with my WAR. Group is composed of AST, SAM and RDM. All speak the same language as me and come from the same server so it's logical to think they were together.
I greet them but no answers and they run off with the AST not casting Protect. When I asked about it he just stood there and seemed like not happy about it but whatever.
The main point is that the RDM loved using Swiftcast to pull packs...and you know the good old Tank saying : "You pull it you tank it /sit".
He did that 3 times, died 3 times.
And I got kicked. Lol.
Hoo boy, this was a fun one. Got Castrum Fluminis in trial roulette, 2 new players. I'm perfectly willing to admit I wasn't playing well last night, either due to being sick or general stupidity. The highlight was when I tunneled trying to get in range to Verraise and walked right in front of the boss mid-tankbuster. Many of the other players could have been dealing with similar issues, so I don't want to blame people for general problems in the trial. However, two players kept making mistakes in no way related to the trial mechanics themselves:
1. The OT (who kept trying to main tank) had no idea how to do tankbusters. No cooldowns, nothing. Every time he tried to grab the boss post-phase change, he'd die to the tankbuster. I have no idea how he got this far without learning about cooldowns or invuln.
2. I was one of three red mages, and one of the others...this poor, poor man. All I saw him cast was Jolt II. Only Jolt II. I saw Verstone Ready pop up on his bar, so he at least dualcasted the stronger spells correctly, but he never used Verstone or Verfire. Or even Impact, which he certainly could have used given all those Jolt IIs.
Between these two and the general problems in the trial (not dodging fans, messing up Lunacy-totally-not-Akh Morn), I had to leave after we wiped a few times and one person graciously ate the penalty. The frustration was having quite the negative impact on my sinus headache. Quick question to y'all though...what would have been the best way to help out that red mage? He wasn't on my server, so I couldn't /tell him afterward, but I didn't want to embarrass him in front of an 8-man trial either. What should I do next time I run into that kind of situation?
I just had the most amazing Levi HM run. He did the thing where the elemental converter was on but not really ready to use, basically trolled us into popping it too early. I'm thinking well, ok, that's a wipe, but no! The PLD Covered me, I was on AST, I got the other healer up, we got the tanks up, and we cleared. It was beautiful, I'm moved.
Good on you, PLD. Good on you.
