EMX has explained the advantage of H IDC P TTT etc. a million times, but play how you want, I guess.

Ahhhhh, after 4 months of wiping on T4. I finally see and get the Allagan Helm... never thought i'de get it! Whats funny is that I made a brand new Darksteel Chain Coif and slotted it with IV's the day of, managed to spiritbind it too and converted it to a savage aim IV when I put on the helm...yayyy!
I'm never getting that helm. I've accepted this fate.
Getting pretty sick of coil now, have never seen the DRG pants or striking ring drop since we started doing coil, like the 2nd week of the game being out or something.
But i have seen the DRG pants drop 3 times when I play through on my Alt whm/blm character. fml
There so much stuff that people are waiting for in my FC to drop from coil for our main jobs which never seem to drop. All we ever get is the same shitty accessories no one wants.
More disappointment is coming tonight i'm sure.
Has also explained it's less than 1% DPS loss. So yeah.
Edit: I do prefer the H IDC P TTT method, but iirc the "old" way was HPF IDC TTT HPF TTT IDC HPF TTT TTT so some people are hardwired for HP.
I also like that it's a consistent flow of 4-hit combos, seems to work into fight mechanic timing perfectly. Like in Titan EX, I'm preemptively moving to dodge mechanics because I know where they come in my rotation. And strangely, flank/rear moves often come up when I have to move. It's like magic =p
Only works if you perform next GCD as soon as possible. If you wait even slightly it will "properly" interrupt. Mashing also didn't seem to work for WAR combos, and I don't want to blow more money testing for if it works on things besides Chaos Thrust.
It's clearly unintentional.
Actually last nights group was the best I had been in, we failed due to me not picking up the adds fast enough :( Healer kept getting gibbed by a stray knight or soldier (whichever one spawns on the south side). It really sucked, the dps was so good - pushed into each phase, all spiders killed in p4, killed knights and soldiers in p5 first, almost got the dread down before p6.. Then I screwed it all up lol
/sadface
I'd get used to using pots outside of combos, just so that when they do fix it you're used to doing it "right" already and don't get caught doing it when you need it...
I believe the Soldier always spawns directly in the middle, and the Knight in one cardinal direction (i forget exactly which since on my PLD i get turned around every which way in that map). But you should be able to queue up a butchers block and pop the soldier with it while running at the knight doing a tomahawk or provoke + tomahawk and getting ready to combo him. But yeah its hectic =\ i know ;(. good luck
I so very much like Dragooning T4 better than tanking lol
Thanks for the tips guys, new week to try again :D
I tried scrolling through quite a number of pages and i can't find the discussion (:/ i swear i am not being lazy), anyway, the reason i asked is because i need to know what is the best combo move set and if compare to mine, what is the impact.
As how i place my skill on the skill bar makes it easier for me to use H P IDC TTT. So if the dps is lower than 1% i can slowly take my time to learn the H IDC P TTT combo (no rush) and if i really mess it up alot, i will revert back to my old rotation.
Well, at least 2.2 is coming...
Another week, another T1-4 with no Gloves, Mask or Ring...
Funny you should say that... For the first time, ever, we got Visor, Legs, Gloves and Earrings of Striking? all in one night... And not the bloody choker of striking again :(
Also, I'm starting to compile those Accuracy Logs from Front/Flank/Rear. If anyone still has any parsings, could you please link your post/repost them? Also, does anyone know if people from the Monk Temple thread also has recordings that they may know of?
Congrats on getting T4 out of the way. I got my first T4 clear on Friday which is nice, but the Visor of Maiming did not drop. Two MNK pieces dropped with me taking the Visor of Striking. Hopefully the RNG treat me much better when my FC runs T1-3 and maybe T4 if we one shot everything tonight.
I've got the visor and the choker from T4...but what I really want is the Garuda ring...but no luck as yet :(
It's marginally, but not notably, weaker. As someone else referenced something I posted before, it's like 1%. It comes down to the timing of the 20s buffs versus 30s buffs. The net result is that H-IDC has better timing than HP-IDC.
No. Nowhere since 2.1.Quote:
As for Fracture, is it wise for me to include it in my rotation? If yes, where?

Save up for Myth chest over the next two weeks, get the legs and gauntlets out of CT. Now, if you start doing Coil and clear T1 and T2, you may get the Legs, Belt and/or Gauntlets. Next Myth is the Feet the next week; get the Helm out of CT that week. At this point, you should have Myth and CT gear in all your left-side spots. Next Myth to buy is helm. Buy the Belt or Gauntlets next, then the next week the other. Again, don't buy the legs, the Allagan is just better. The Myth belt is a good one to get anyway.
Thanks so much for this suggestion(pg 150 #1493). As of today I am already capped with 351 myths after buying myth chest Monday. I got the onion helm in ct yesterday. Between this week and last week in t1 and t2, only drop I got was choker. Right now I got gae zenith, onion helm, myth chest, onion hands, waist and legs and only DL left is feet(ilvl79) going into next week. Just kind of bored now piling up philos for nothing and I cant stand crafting.
So has there been any further work done on figuring out the "true" accuracy cap? I've been very fortunate of late and gotten even more i90 accessories as well as my final piece, allagan visor, so i have quite a bit to play around with heh.
Last I recall, people were testing around 469, 471 (before buffs) and there was talk of the direction you face the enemy affecting the acc requirement. I will go back and reread some of that conversation now but was wondering if anybody heard anything new?
Glad to help.
I suggest getting the Myth Feet next; since you have the Onion Belt, as long as you meet the accuracy cap when you do Coil you don't need to upgrade it (the Onion belt is BiS for non-accuracy fights) so look out for the Allagan belt right now. After the feet I'd say buy the Helm and keep running T1 and T2 for the legs and hands (and belt). Then buy the Myth Bracelets, then Belt (unless you get Allagan, which then put it off more), then Ring (One Allagan is T1 and the other is T4, and the Garuda Ring is Crit/Acc. Get the Garuda Ring if you need accuracy for Coil). After that...if you still don't have the hands buy them (I have yet to see them) and honestly, you should be done with Myth now. Don't buy the Earrings (both Allagan are T1/2 and are better than Myth, and the BiS is Titan's) or Pants (unless you really want them for non-acc content).
Why is Black Truffle Risotto such garbage?? I know none of us have the ability with the current gear out to take full advantage of it, BUT even if we did this is what we get:
Black Truffle Risotto HQ
Vitality, +3% max 19
Critical Hit +2% max 11
Determination +4% max 17
We would need 550 Critical hit and 425 Determination to make full use of this, clearly outside of our capability atm since max determination without food is 372 at the moment. Compare this to Buttons in a blanket.
Buttons in a Blanket HQ
Vitality, +4% max 15
Critical Hit +2% max 10
Determination +5% Max 16
Where we need 500 Critical Hit and 320 Determination to reach its full potential. Now you might be thinking whats my point?
My point is this, i'm going from an easy lvl 47 recipe with mats readily available to a pain in the you know 2 star to require an additional 50 crit and a 105 determination to get 1 point of crit and determination EXTRA from food.
/facepalm LOL SE
[EDIT] /calmly wishes for Determination/VIT only food
Maybe its in line with the next set of recipes, but wouldn't hold my breath there.
From earlier discussions + my own calculations + dummy, HPF IDC TTT and H IDC P TTT has no significant difference in damage dealt over a 3 min fight (but strangely my data says HPF IDC TTT deals 100 dmg more over 3 mins contrary to all the claims of why clipping is bad, maybe I haven't perfected the off GCDs for H IDC P TTT)
But my point is this: H IDC P TTT doesn't use one extra cross class skill, which allows mercy stroke instead of fracture. Factor that additional off GCD skill in and H IDC P TTT should win by a little bit more (i mean 20% is not exactly a lot of time for you to cast a 90 second cooldown skill)
Acc is overrated. I run coil 1-5 each week with 460 acc. During T5 Twins acc is lower than the first mini dragons and snakes. My bard just throws one rain of death for each of those and i dont miss. Same as our bard he runs 443 with food. We both miss 1 time in Turn 5 same we would miss if we was at 482 and it must be an autoattack that misses cause i never notice and combo or jump miss. I will be running with even lower acc this week just to test how low i can really go.
You are aware of these posts, yes?: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...Reborn/page144
According to that, the required Accuracy to hit from Flank or Behind is 458
So yes, Melee players should aim for 460 or thereabouts:
Turn 5 http://pastie.org/private/qpfxgvdvj1hmlkxiwt5tq
Pre T5 with Extremes http://pastie.org/8614681#1
Pre-T5 without Extremes http://pastie.org/private/u93gaqcronr969rbbmh8q
A lot of us have always aimed for 663-ish before we knew about this "Different accuracy for different positions" stuff. And "Flank theory" is accurate, 100%. I have a lot of numbers proving this. Just collecting more data for different jobs atm. I won't have numbers for Twintania, but accuracy does vary from the position you're at.
