You have these 2 reversed. CM is a story dungeon designed for fresh 50's. Nothing difficult and it is easily completed in AF.

Titan is significantly more of a gear check. Without enough stats, you'll get wrecked. As the last fight in the relic questline, it is and should be held to a higher standard. Even in full AK drops I think you would struggle to meet the minimum HP requirements. let alone ilvl 52...

This is fine. I am talking about current content like HM Primals that people like to talk about as if they are impossible, and that may be the case for some people, but more and more people are progressively clearing it, whether it be because of practice or because of gear, or the likely reason; a combination of both. I mean I've done the primals, so it isn't like it'll affect MY experience for THIS content and it's challenge level. My worry is that FUTURE content will be lowered to a level that is overly accessible, which may be the case with Crystal Tower and it being put into the Duty Finder. Having 'casual' content is fine, but having all content overly casualized gets boring.

Given that a lot of the content is based on hard gear checks (like you mentioned) and scripted heavily to patterns with almost no variance (ie Titan pools don't spawn in the same spot, but do spawn on player's location) the 'need' to nerf content isn't based on it being poorly tuned or being impossible, but a player's desire to either a) experience and clear the content before they're ready, or b) the player's inability/unwillingness to improve. Of course, this doesn't take into the 'real' latency issues people are having (ie NOT 100ms, zomg mechanics now impossible), or the fact that there are 7 other people in the raid that also have to be up to scratch.

And you definitely highlight my point when you say BCoB will nerf itself when Crystal Tower comes out and people actually get the i80 gear (I think you got your numbers wrong since DL is i70 and AF+1 is i90). As it currently stands, anyone can voice their opinion, and they have every right to, but altering you game to the 'wants' of a player base that potentially won't be playing in a week, much less when 2.1 actually lands has potential to alter it in a way that will 'upset' the actual subscribers. As I said, leave things the way they are until the free month is over, or even until 2.1 is released, then start altering things based on who is still playing, not those who ditched the game because they couldn't kill HM Titan using DF in AF gear...

The word elitist being thrown around alot but I am not sure everyone understands that not everyone is out to insult somebody. Alot of people run the numbers and it is easy to see that no matter what you do there is a hard cap on all gear based around its ILVL so it is impossible to have mroe hp then <####> or a crit rate of <###> that is factored into the boss fights as well. So for instance magic damage is the highest booster for healing so because of how people percieve and plan the fights they are looking for certain numbers so if your still rocking a jade Crook there is a numerical difference that is easily noticable even when eye balling compared to the GC weps. Its not specifically them being elitist its just stacking the deck in their favor. Now there is overkill like must have Full DL + acc and primal weapon for chimera. People will be tools regardless if given the chance but its not the ILVL fault. As that is just the new level system once you ding 50.

If I'm not mistaken, but don't you need to clear AK to get GC weapons lvl50? So the most you can do is craft/ask a high level Crafter to make your pre relic, and most crafters will want you to get the items for them,

Even if skill super-ceded all gear checks, it wouldn't be nearly as fast. Would you rather party with intensely under geared players who can 'skill' their way past a dungeon taking 90 minutes, or a semi geared / well geared party that can finish it in 45? This is especially important with grinding tombs. Yeah, I can heal a party in AK full of AF and white 45 weapons, but we take an extra 45-50 minutes with wipes instead of a smooth run.

I'm sorry, but a MMORPG starts to die once you give everything to everyone. The first thing you lose is us elitist pricks. Do you know what then happens? People start to lose the point of playing. They will never become "one of those", people with the best gear and coolest items. Once you have it all, you want more, but if there's nothing more to get it's the end. Game over.

As long as there is a goal to become better, get better gear and great challenges to conquer the game lives. People are competitive by nature, even if they try to deny it. Most want to be better than others. MMORPGs revolve around items and usually, if the game is worth anything, getting that gear requires some modicum of skill in the game. That, or ridiculous amount of time. People want to spend their time with other people like them, they don't want to hold hands of people who run in circles during instance runs. Call them elitist or whatever you want, I call them rational.

Is this healthy? Hell no. Now go away and let us enjoy our insanity.

WoW decided to become a huge amusement park of fun and happiness for everyone and it has lost millions of players. If you dislike elitists, give WoW a try, you can have it all in there. There are also many p2w (=pay to win) MMORPGs where you can use your real world currency to gain significant advantage over other players. I'm sure you'll find your game if this doesn't suit you. Or it might be that the whole genre just isn't for you.

As a healer, its way more frustrating to enter an Amdapor Keep, Garuda or Titan Hard Mode primal fight and see that the tank hasn't even looked at a piece of Darklight, much less bought one than it will ever be for me to be told "sorry, you need a little more gear."

Some fights are entirely pointless to attempt of people don't have a minimal level of damage output or health.

I understand putting in a gear check if you queue up to play with random people, but I would prefer there not to be a gear check for a complete premade. Sometimes my friends like to attempt things that are super hard just to see how far we can get.

This was just as awful in FFXI as it is in this game. You couldn't even get into endgame parties in the past few years unless you are White Mage or having a Relic/Empyrean/Mythic.

This is very much needed. It's not enjoyable when you see some level 50 walk into HM Titan with a level 30 ring, or with a level 40 weapon.
