So during A1 normal, I often find myself spending GK to grab both of the adds during the Emergency Deployment phase, and killing them off. Makes it hilarious when you're yelled at for "not controlling the adds" by the machinist and bard who..couldn't kill their adds while I was over killing two on my own. As for the ninja who was on .5 Oppressor with me, well she kept dpsing the Oppressor, but we were together and I said I was ok taking both adds.
I dunno, just felt like sharing that part of my life tonight.
Eh, so it doesn't really work that well for you o.o"
5k damage difference in 30 seconds is going to get huge in the long run... lol
And yessss, usually in A1 Normal I handle both adds, because the other DPS is usually screaming "I GOT M4DD33P5 M8, u hendle Addz"
For those with latency issues: Did you try http://www.wowinterface.com/download...atencyFix.html ? I installed it last night and during A1 & 2S noticed a huge difference :D I was able to get everything into pot phase (usually the pot ran out before i could hit the 2nd 4th) and in general my CDs seemed smoother and quicker with less failed pops or combo breaks.
I also use BL first - As soon as the Tank pulls. I can weave with BFB but i do get a little delay hitting the GCD afterwards, and i figure it helps the range as our Brd pops all the things just before pull so makes sense for me to help with the dots.
lol, i also deal with both adds during A1 Normal. Its really easy and much more reliable than letting others try to do it - I find only a few can handle them strangely enough :P
Hi guys,
I just have a quick question about gear and their secondary stats. Today when clearing our A3 Savage, I got lucky and got both the helm and the pants drop, which is great, except that once again I'll be overflowing with accuracy if I use the 210 Gordian pants. Last week I had purchased the eso pants, so I'm wondering which would be better.
This is the set with the Gordian ilvl 210 pants.

Set with Dragonlancer's ilvl 200 pants.

So, what would be the better pick?
Thanks guys.
Is there anything you still need to buy eso-wise/what are you planning on getting next (if anything from the eso bucket?
Might be best deciding on what you can swap round, for example: to make up the Crit difference and so you don't lose out too much because of the abundance of Acc.
The i200 pants are higher stat weight than the 210 Gordian pants. If that's the only piece you're swapping in those sets, go with eso pants. Hands down. The crit+ss outweighs the str+det gain.
Went and bought a Cat6 cable to throw onto my PS4, hopefully that will help me a bit.
Just for my own musings but wouldn't the SS weight be negated due to the diminishing return? Considering Andyman Britney is already within the SS value needed for 2.40CD. Not that having too much/more SS is a bad thing, but my way of thinking would be that its better to have more base oomf especially for actual content (i.e. savage). Hit harder with the already 'set standard' speed, than not hitting as hard with a slightly faster speed which isn't enough to add any extra moves to our rotation but maybe makes the general rotation a little more comfortable.
I haven't run math on the diminishing returns of skill speed myself, but the 86 crit alone already almost makes up for the strength and det. Dropping to 730 crit from over 800 is a more significant loss imo than gaining the det and strength can make up. It's personal preference to some degree, sure, but ss IS always a flat dps gain. The only negative to more ss is faster burnout. If they wanna drop ss the more effective way to do so would be buying Dragonlancer's boots to replace Gordian ones. Trades ss for det and doesn't give you 90 more accuracy.
SS gains can't be measured in how many skills are added to a single run under one heavy thrust. You measure over the course of a fight and see how many extra gcds you get before phase transitions.
If you have the i210 pants, and you're working on A4S, might as well use them for the VIT even if i200 pants are theoretically close in DPS. DRG's fortunate enough to be able to survive a messed up Carnage near i210, unlike everyone else (except BLM <3). Well, sometimes anyway.
Our SCH pulled it off with Fey Covenant, apparently.
I dunno. That one piece of gear causes your health to go up by around 225 in party with food. Not sure how tight that kill would be in terms of how much damage it'll do to you, but I've very rarely seen a survival with less hp than that. While I'm all for those lucky saves with messed up mechanics or what have you, I'm a firm believer in the fact that progression should always be about learning NOT to screw things up rather than scrambling to fix regular mistakes.
Brought this up last night when someone mentioned how we could just let one Piston in the last group hit the electricity since we CAN survive it. You shouldn't plan for - or gear yourself toward - mistakes. You should plan for things to go right. 86 crit is a huge swing to lose for the off-chance you could maybe survive a botched mechanic, imo, when the fight is already a super tight dps check. But, I mean, personal preference. xD
Have you seen Carnage? It's the most random mechanic in the game, even practicing it for weeks can still allow a slip up here or there if the spawns and angle are truly ludicrous. Not something to be relied on but I as BLM love being able to survive a botched one.
About A3S, I don't think you CAN survive a Piston going into the water, even if you "survive" it. The boss gets a stack. Good luck for the next 7 minutes!

Is this BiS for A4S ? A friend of mine is arguing ESO weapon is BiS because you need a minimum of 620 sskp to maintain 3 geirk/min but I thought 2.41 gcd is enough for that ?
That's from the fourth post on the first page. Around 590 onward you reach 2.41, which I can confirm is enough to reach 3 Geirskogul per minute and/or double Geirskogul under B4B.Quote:

The set in what you linked.

Best in slot gear.
The difference in weight is less than 1. The difference in stat spread is massive.
alright boys i210 back to lalafell

see you guys next raid tier afk
And here I am still trying to find a raid group...
Wow! No more spending months trying to get the weapon this time Yan :P Good job hun!
Dunno if it's just me but raid teams seem to be rather scarce this time round? Pretty sure coils had much more attention/demand...
And yeah Jack i agree :) My group is working on A3S now - only been in once so still mastering the debuff handover at the start lol What would you guys say would be a decent HP pool to aim for? Also, has the Acc cap been narrowed down any or is the 639 still the best to go for?
Personally I saw a lot of groups, on my server and MANY others I knew of and followed on stream on other servers, eventually disband or reform this raid tier in some way. I predicted it TBH, you produce hard content unlike before, not some crap easy FCoB stuff, and groups as a whole are gonna have to take the heat. Pepsiman alone was the slayer of groups, especially in less gear.
I'm pretty sure the A1 and A2 scene is as lively as ever though.
Dervy has been perma banned from forums (you can probably guess why), so don't expect anything from him here.
RIP Dervy yet again.
That's really sad, Dervy did a lot for the community!
For discussing third party tools?
I've been running 633 and haven't had any real misses. Since your group is still learning, misses aren't really a super huge deal, just try and aim for no less than 630 until you're actually pushing hard at the last phase. That's how I'm handling it, anyway.
Also~ What are some good numbers to be aiming for for the phase transitions in A3S (p1 > 2 and 2 > 3 and 3 > 4)? I'm currently around 1400 leading into hands, 1200 into adds and fell to around 1040 when we wiped to the last set of adds. I feel like I could be doing better on the adds, at least. Any advice anyone can offer?
Current gear: http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/RKNC
for drg right side, should i not buy the eso acc? ariyala thingy showed that my ss will drop from 625 to whopping 582 going from alex acc to eso accesories
Frontal acc cap floating around for A4S is 647, which you need as a dps because like in normal A4 there are situations where you're tanking weak adds, meaning you'll be forced to hit them from the front.
Hey, everybody. I spoke with Dervy earlier today. He is, indeed, permanently banned from the forums. He says that he has some plans for setting up an alternative outlet for DRG discussion, but in the meantime, he has given me permission to repost his guide. This will allow me to update stat weights, BiS sets, and theorycrafting as needed in the future, which I figure is better than our using a guide/thread that is literally impossible to update.
Anyhow, I would encourage everyone to jump ship and post any future discussions in the new thread, which can be found here:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...16#post3315016.
All glory to Dervy. RIP in pieces.
RIP Dervy. (WTF SE D: )
So as to not take over the new thread: RIP Dervy ;.; mastah goon forever
I guess rules are rules but damn SE, just go ahead and ban the players that contribute the most to the community. And furthermore, where is it exactly in the forum rules or service agreement that we can't talk about parsers? Cuz I'm not finding it.
Its not here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/63104

Hi people there , i would like to know if someone knows the best opener rotation for dragoon on EU serveurs since we cannot do 2off gcd ?
Actually i'm 196ilvl and my openers are between 1k4-1k6 but i'm aware i can do better but i cannot find the rotation to do an higher opener. I know there's some nice guide but always on NA/JP serv when they're able to do 2off gcd which is impossible on EU :/
Many thanks !
