Lack of End Game Content

And this is precisely why I mentioned Mythic+. As I said in my initial post, developing a system that essentially scales dungeons and throwing it unique achievements can be done with minimal resources. The vast majority of it would be reused assets not unlike Ultimate. That's why people keep asking for it every other Live Letter. We're all aware SE doesn't exactly fund FFXIV to the extent they should. Hence suggestions that wouldn't strain their resources. Instead, Blue Mage happened. Even Eureka nearly bombed until they finally added in Logos actions.

The money is rolling in for them on this game. Millions of purchases for every expansion, over a million subs, plus mog station purchases(double dipping lol). Money is not an excuse anymore. They have the money to hire additional devs, and if for some reason they had to pull existing devs to help create more raid content, well, casuals already have more than enough to do, right?

Your sub isn't a commission. It doesn't entitle you to get what you want from the developers. FFXIV formula is "This game should not be a job and you should be able to have a life outside of it." That's not going to change.

The point was making is rewards from certain endgame activities should have next to no impact on other end game activities. IE PvP rewards pertain to PvP, Mini games to Mini games, Dungeons to Dungeons. With the one big exception of crafting. And the reason crafting is the exception, is its goal is to create useful items for a number of purposes.

Which I am pretty sure most can agree gets the end game shaft time and time again.

And its this type of thinking that has made MMO's completely lose their identity, back in the old days as long as an activity was not a 'Minigame" The content appended one another. Now you have this basterdization where everything should be relegated to its own separate corner, with its own separate rewards.

Can we knock off the extremes, please? Asking for a fifth raid boss or a Mythic+ like system hardly prevents you from "having a life outside FFXIV."

Out of curiousity, to those that want more content catered to the top 1% of players that have already completed all ShB content and can get through challenge content in a week that most won't manage within a year.

Would you accept a higher tier (like ultra savage or whatever) or system (like Mythic + dungeons/trials that add affixes and stacking enemy hp/damage)- if it didn't reward better gear? Or is better gear a requirement?

I'm just curious if you want content and challenge, or if you simply want a greater divide in gear from the multitudes?

Wait till the relic comes out then you will be busy for the next year or two grinding them all.

I'm sure opinions on this may differ depending on which raider you talk to. I, personally, would still do it for the challenge. Thing is, once you clear it once or twice, even that ceases to pose much of a challenge from then. Without grinding for savage gear, I wouldn't run clear on it for 8 weeks in a row. People keep making this mistake of thinking raiders just want to lord their status over everyone else. I just want to be the best I can be, and be challenged. I'm not looking to be some kind of elite. The challenges give me a chance to test myself. To become better than I was yesterday. Without a challenge, improvement can not be made. I'm not thinking about some kind of class divide when I run my raids. Without the gear, there'd be no reason left to run anything once it is on farm status. That goes for tomes, totems, savage gear, and ultimate weapons. The gear allows you to perform better, if even by a fraction, than you did before you had the gear.

Mostly, I want a completely fresh and new type of difficult battle content. Not another trial fight. Even Mythic+ dungeons would be something.

Upon further introspection, I don't understand why wanting better gear as a savage raider is a bad thing. You should get rewards that correspond to your work. That's how it works in the real world.

Yeah, because rebalancing already existing assets is a matter of minute, why don't they just push the difficulty slider up, invent reward from nothing and release it ?! As if the same dungeon but with more damage is suddenly making it fun and exciting.

Keeping end game rewards of separate activities separate isn't what made MMO's loose their Identities. It was everyone trying to create WoW 2.0, coupled with class homogenization over time in the interest of perfect balance, and the removal of player choice. Then add in a general lack of innovation for the past 15 years or so... and viola.

The rewards usage in different areas can overlap a little bit, but care has to be taken so that high end PvP gear doesn't automatically mean one can jump in and do high end raids, and vice versa. Different skill sets, and potentially even stats, are needed for both. Does this mean you might have to maintain 2 gear sets for one job? Yes it does. Some people that actually wanted to be really good at the class/job they were playing would maintain 3-5 sets of gear, with situational swap pieces just for PvE content. Then add in a PvP set or two on top of that.

But the reason for reward separation is not everyone enjoys raids, pvp, minigames, crafting, gathering and what have you, and you really should not be forcing someone who despises any one of those to do them because you gated their gear progression for something else they do enjoy behind it. The Biggest Clash I can think of at the moment would be make the Best Crafting Gear something only a top 1% of PvP player could get and make it untradeable/unsellable, thereby forcing a Crafter to grind PvP for who knows how long to get good enough to finally earn it, or just say screw it and accept they will never have the best crafting gear.
