Bard - they broke my job

1) whats up with all the non-bards and pre-level 60s chiming in? If your havent experienced end game 3.0 bard (or mch) your opinion doesnt matter. go troll another forum.

2) 2.0 Bard was the DPS king. period! this is a historical fact. I did turn 1-2 first week with 4 bards, easily.
we were nerfed for this very reason.
Our DPS was nerfed in the form of potency and weapon damage and has slowly gone down since. T5 we were still competitive, T9 we dropped to middle and by T13 we were at the bottom of the parse. Most of us continued to play bard for the reason we were for the most part a necessity and could get parties fairly easily. I personally was strongly considering NIN for 3.0 but heard about WM and figured finally, we were getting a much needed balancing. I was wrong.

3) Yoshi acknowledging the BRD community only means that they are looking into it. Not that your going to like the changes he does implement. So lets keep holding our breathe here.

finally my $.02

*Mobility is why I play bard. (I really tried to like WM but I dont want to be a caster) Being able to turn this on and off without a cast time will NOT fix the issue.

*Increasing WM to 40% would bring us up to other DPS roles 900+180, based on the assumption that WM and Auto attacks were on par. I really dont think the Devs understand that most bards auto attack were 25-28% of their over all damage.

I personally will hold out a little while longer while i save up my Law and Centurio marks, just in case.

I totally agree with you on this point. All the non-Bard/MCH players whining in this thread for no good reason and not contributing anything resourceful. The only thing I see them doing is trying to defend their "top dps" throne.

Alex savage mode is quite sometime away, pretty sure they'll fit us in. Alex normal mode is like CT standard, who cares if they use this to analyse classes lol.

I haven't seen mcn declined from party except when there is already a brd or mcn present. The class will have a poor reputation for a while but only because of poor general representation, which is obvious because the playerbase is still learning this new class. Once all is said and done, most parties want a mcn or brd and probably wont care which they get. Stop panicking.

Some people here seem to have the misconception that we should do the same DPS as other DPS jobs. I only agree that we should do more damage than tanks. War properly played does 900 (can be higher but that's a good average) DPS with very little effort. Other DPS should maintain their relative positions in my opinion.

Can SE please remove the hissing sound or change it? while casting.

Erm...there's plenty of us non-BRD mains who think the design you guys were given was absolute rubbish at worst and very questionable at best. Some of us are even crazy enough to think you should be doing more DPS than the tank.

Chances are what Plumpy's trying to avoid is a stigma setting in, which is what happens when a job is perceived to suck or outright sucks because of poor design/mechanics/performance. DRGs in FFXI were labeled as gimps when the only real issue they had was that their supplemental damage pet was on a 2-hour cooldown. WAR during ARR's launch was labeled as a gimp tank despite being able to tank everything but BCoB. It's understandable that BRD and MCH players are wanting to avoid that happening to them.

Well, you couldn't figure out the changes before you hit 60.
Not everyone is that much slow.

I appreciate every post that contributed the size of the bard complaint. Even the non-bards, trolls and weirdos who actually like WM all helped. We should congratulate ourselves on this upcoming change xD
