I hear ya.

If someone wants to play with it and post the set here, I'd have no problem running the numbers and posting it if it scores higher, but I wasn't planning to do any of the actual work myself. We have the best crafted set and the best non-crafted set in the OP and those should last us until the expansion.

Lemme kick in some mudra tips:
If your connection falls between 0~150 ping, your Mudra's will have quite the "constant" feel to it and maybe nothing to worry about.
But if it goes to the 200~300 realm, you'll find yourself with some heavy struggle, specially for that Huton you so much needed.

Notice that Mudras have actually 2 light effect animations, first one is a big word overhead with some flashy spheres appearing around yourself, this one is only your client sending the info to the server, there is a second one that is a circle with many glittering lights surrounding your character, this is the server confirmation effect and the moment the "mudra buff" appers in your buff stacks and starts counting down, you must avoid by all means using another mudra before this light appears, specially if you are on a high ping. The higher the ping is, the longer the time difference will be between the first and second light effect.

The second light effect is the same as any buff you can get as a Crafter, same sound effect as well.

it is, however, possible to cast the mudra you want with almost perfect chance (albeit nothing can be done speed-wise), using this detail as a cornerstone.

First, you cast the first Mudra, then wait for confirmation, when Shuriken appears, tab the second and third mudra in a quick sequence (even 0.5 seconds on your mental clock), after the first confirmation, the server is a lot quicker to respond and give you the Huton, Doton or Suiton you want, however it will first show you a Raiton, Katon, Hyuton. By all means, spam the Ninjutsu button until your skill animation happens like 3 times.

"I pressed the 3 mudras correctly but still got Katon/Hyuton/Raiton!! What did I do wrong?!" You probably send the 2nd mudra before the server confirmation for your 1st mudra happened, the comunication client-server was just too slow and the server never processed the 2nd mudra you sent to it, do a quick memory replay and press again the 2nd mudra you sent before to get a 3 mudra cast, which most likely will not be the one you originally wanted, or just throw your card as it is.

Couple questions.

- is it worth getting 491 Skill Speed for the 2s GCD. (Say at the cost of some crit)

- will the damage increase of the crafted set outweigh the loss of LB damage from the lower average ilvl

Unless yuou're using a crafted Weapon, Crafted Gear won't affect LB At all.

Is that the optimum Skill Speed I should have as a Ninja? Kinda don't like the thought of losing so much Crit so was wondering if going with that Gear-Set of mine would cause problems with Skill Speed due to it being only 356 compared to your 393.

I'm talking about that set, it's over accuracy cap by 9, using accuracy food? You want to use food to get to exactly cap or around 1 over. Also 480 crit is kind of really low, lol.

Compare that to the BiS (i130) set http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/OZE0 That gains 50 crit and 40 skillspeed for essentially 50 det and some uesless accracy, and you'll easily see the difference.

I recommended using flint over catfish to land at 534 acc and also push crit a bit more, not sure if you overread it. Besides this, i guess we have a very different interpretation of a "hilariously bad set" lol ^^

I took another look at the set I posted and realized if you switch IW boots for DW and use either catfish or legs for food (only difference in vit), you basically get what is stated to be the non-crafted BiS in the op:

I did not calculate the dex-value of Odowla's set, so I don't know which one is better.

Regarding skill speed, for me it's just a personal preference thing. It's perfectly fine to have no additional skill speed but for me having ~390 just feels better in terms of how stuff lines up.

The skillspeed that you want is higher than 420; less than that makes your opener super sketchy if you use Chloro Cradle's opener on the Aeolian edge. My new BiS gets me 441 so a GCD of 2.04.
