I now have a reply from Canal Digital confirming they might be throttling.
They are requesting details about what ports they should open for the game to run smoother.
Copy/Paste of the e-mail from Canal Digital:

As you can read or google translate they are now awaiting my reply with this information before they can proceede to maybe open the ports they are throttling on this game.Quote:
Hei,
Takk for din henvendelse
Avventer tilbakemelding.

I also have a new ticketnumber to be used in subject and or body of reply e-mail.
Not sure what the intent is of this thread's OP that he sends this information to our ISP or not, but I have sadly quit playing this game as it was unplayable.Code:[ ref:_00DD0qX7t._500D0WmW7w:ref ]
Hope this information can help the other Canal Digital subscribers in the near future.

Started happening about 2 weeks ago and has been progressive worst. I notice it when there was only 1 or 2 rubber band lags in WP but now it seems like every ten steps I take it rubber bands.

Lag will be anywhere from 1 second every 2 seconds, to having 24 second lag intervals with 2 second recoveries. Generally the lag is about 2-4 second intervals with 2 second relieves.
Name of ISP: CIK Telecom
Country of Residence: Canada
When does the problem occur: Almost always. Usually fine very early in the morning, though.
I can't get more than 5-10 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay as of 3 weeks ago (connection was perfect before that). I can see other players and mobs fight as usual (to a lagless degree most of the time) but I have great difficulty in getting my own actions to register (animations play but damage on mobs don't occur, buffs being crazily unsynced and coming into play far after their activation or not at all) and usually I will disconnect very suddenly. The disconnects don't even occur after seconds of inactivity due to lag, as I can be in the heat of the moment and see other players use attacks and their damage numbers pop up on mobs right before it happens.
I'm contacting my ISP to verify the throttling but I believe it is so because of the nature of my lag. I'll post an update later.

Issue has been constant (24/7) for the last two weeks and was intermittent before that going back to September. Has been getting progressively worse every time I try to play. Game is currently unplayable; last dungeon I tried to run, everything froze for 15-20 seconds at a time and didn't level off for more than 5-10 seconds before doing it again. Same issue trying to do fates.
Going to cancel my subscription if the issue isn't resolved by the end of the pay period. So disappointing :\

Hello,
Please take the time to call Time Warner and as to be escalated. Please be polite and specific. If you are lagging and not a Time Warner customer, everything pretty much still applies.
The first person i spoke to in tech support I introduced myself. Explained that I'm not having normal internet troubles but its specifically dealing with an online game. I explained to the woman that I was prepared with traceroutes and links to multiple different websites online with other SoCal Time Warner customers with the same problem. She asked a few basic questions and agreed this is over her pay grade and conected with with another woman that she referred to as "tier 3".
This woman asked be specifics about the traceroute. Gave me an email address to copy paste those traceroutes to the NA data centers and to my specific server. She was very understanding and wanted me to explain in detail the problems i was having in game. Port forwarding was brought up and i quickly squashed that. The symptoms are there regardless of being directly connected or no. The router isn't the factor.
She ended up opening a case on it and told me that this is the first anyone in her department has heard of a problem like this or dealing with this game. She asked, "That i have my friends call in and to please report this issue and feel free to send more traceroutes and links to this specific problem to the email address she provided me."
My back story is:
This isn't me or my problem. Time Warner has had techs to me house half a dozen times for various reason. Brand new RU-6 was run from the street to the house to the inside and the modem. My picture quality is amazing. I'm paying for 10mb and getting 16.25 DWN 1.09 UP capped all day every day. Streaming and any other gaming online runs so smooth and amazing.
Modem is SB 6141
Router is R6300
Neither are an issue and very baller
Except for FF XIV. My wife and play on desktops and laptops. Wired and wireless. It doesn't matter. The entire house is run in Cat6.

- Time Warner Cable
- Los Angeles, CA - United States
- Occurs constantly now. Never rubberbanded with massive lag spikes until a few weeks ago. Now, it's every day during almost all hours, getting worse and worse as time goes by.
- Have contacted TWC to escalate to Tier 3, no reference number as of yet.
This doesn't just make endgame unplayable. This makes doing all content unplayable, except for using chat while standing still in Toll. My Coil group and I had to stop running early last night because my rubberbanding and lag spikes were keeping me from tanking anything for more than 3 seconds.
So, everyone says Tata Communications is the problem, looks like we need to let them know.

- 2-7 second freezes/lag spikes/rubber-banding every 20-60 seconds almost any time I get on. Highly unplayable. No problem with other online games.
*Also note, while running a ping tracert via the windows command prompt to the NA data center, I get an 11% packet loss in just ONE of the two PaloAlto.as6453.net jumps I go through. My ping also jumps from 12 ms in LA, to 102 ms in Palo Alto. There is only a 300 mile difference between the 2 jump locations, why does Palo Alto ping higher than the 90 ms response from MONTREAL, CANADA? Palo Alto is 300 miles away, Montreal is 3000.

lag spikes ranging from .5 to 5 seconds, this happens more while in an instance than any other time, and some instances seem to see more of it than others. Titan it's every few seconds everything takes a nap for up to 5 seconds then plays super speed catch up, then naps again. Coil it's maybe once a minute and the avg. spike is around 1 second. Outside of instanced content I see very few spikes, and the ones I do see are usually around 1 second.
This thread was created at the end of August. It's already December and yet the problem is still rampant throughout the servers especially for Time Warner Cable users like me. Is SE actually doing anything or are they just waiting for people to drop their subscriptions before they start caring?
