Heck I am all for a personal parser, even a toggle one for party finder, but it seems that is not good enough for the pro-parser group either.
For me, less so that it is not good enough, and more so that I can foresee there being a lot of issues with that. I don't see those same issues from coming up with a group parser.
I'd be down for a toggle parser, but it should be usable whenever/wherever. Limiting use will just frustrate people.
Your housing analogy is empty as, at least in the US, there are people still building houses without power tools, they've been doing it for 200 years now. We call them the Amish, and they've had a hate on modern technology since modern technology has been a thing. And yet they are living in nicely built homes the likes of which I wish modern contractors would take notes from...
Hey, no problem bud, I have enjoyed laughing about your raid cred since you popped into this thread. Glad it was a mutual exchange.
Just one last ditch effort to point out how absurd you are being:
By your own admission
Yet you have not addressed.Quote:
i can see how for some people it is a tool that will help them improve upon their rotation.
I want a fair playing field for all and you want to keep ps3/ps4 players disadvantaged. Cheers mate!Quote:
So, if you don't care about hurt feelins, why are you against an official in-game parser?
Just trying to find a some what of a compromise. I know what parsers or more in line people have done with parsers in other games and how it effected the community and would hate to see the same thing happen to this game. At least a personal or toggle parser with SE policy at least is something in the middle. You will never get both sides to agree on either the far left or far right arguments. Man this is starting to sound like politics :)
Let me give you some insight of my POV, as a person who suffers from depression and social anxiety and is currently undergoing treatment.
When someone "calls me out on something", like sometimes when I wasn't on my prime condition and let people die on big pulls, no matter how much I want to see and react to it rationally, like saying "Sorry" or just shruging it off, or even saying "Thank you for the advice" and trying to get better, my head tells me the following things:
You're wasting their time, you piece of s***, get out of the way and let another healer join.
See? You suck even at gaming, you can't even heal a good tank.
You should just delete your character already, you'll never be able to beat Savage like this, not even unsynched.
It's not something I have control of, even with medicine and therapy. When I'm healing I have this feeling that my tank is gonna die any moment and I'm gonna screw up my CDs and everyone will hate and kick me. I never got kicked from anything yet, but I do have a kind of fear of it happening.
This has nothing to do with the parser argument, since even myself would like at least a personal parser to know if I'm doing consistent damage compared to my fellow players, but I just wanted to share because of the "If you have this mentality you are invincible to being embarrassed" wich is not a true statement, at least for me.
FFXIV devs should really give us the ability to use mods easy, like WoW, but that'll probably never happen.
