Amdapor Keep and Wanderer's Palace Adjustments

So, after just finishing an AK run I can say that the speed run thing is pretty much done for. I'm not particularly concerned, as I figured it would happen. What they did was make all of the mobs run at almost sprint speed, hit slightly harder, aggro from further away, add a magical door that doesn't open until certain mobs are killed. They also added a few mobs in certain places in the dungeon. I wasn't even able to make it all the way through the first hallway before the first boss before dying, which I was usually able to do prior to the patch without even getting hit once. While I'm glad they fixed this (it was a pretty obvious exploit, regardless of how you people feel about it or not) I still think they should at least add some minor rewards to killing these mobs. Grey item drops, random allagan bronze pieces, etc.

You don't actually need AF2 though. Binding coil can be done with Darklight, and AF2 should be seen as gear to put in gaps where you haven't had the allagan gear drop from binding coil

2 Person per chest get now 7 pieces, 2chests in amdapor so 4times the change now u get 700Gil and i just did a run where we tested if we could still speedrun it (all doors closed u need to kill some key mobs, like smr , dullahan/gargoyels, Sucubus till the bossroom open) and died a few times - overall Gil repair was 498Gil.

So u really cant complain at all about the repairs now, u will still have +gil from one AK run.

I agree with the change just not the way it was done, as many have already said if I am going to be forced to clear trash mobs MAKE IT WORTH IT! im sick of the time spent to earn things argument -_-. especially a PUG where some don't know what they are doing (takes even longer) at cap the only reason people run AK or WP is for tomes and relic quest. funny thing is this is effecting the people who where complaining about others advancing to fast more than the people already geared and relic ready for BCOB.

im just glad I only got H-garuda and H-titan left for my relic with my DL gear half complete

Sooooooooo.... is there any point even running AK more than once now? I mean philo stones are faster from castrum and it's easier. Theres the gear drops in AK but you dont need them to grind castrum and why slow your philo speed down to acquire gear that isnt as good as the gear you get from the philo stones themselves? Doesn't make sense. As for Mytho stones it's faster to run Garuda with a good team, you can beat her in 7-8 minutes for 7 mytho stones and a garuda wep which is great, not to mention shes way easier than keep once you know what you're doing. You can get 80ish an hour for 8 people as opposed to 4 and get garuda weps which is probably the best you'll get pre relic. So really AK is kinda pointless now unless I'm missing something? Same applies to WP as far as I know

Well that's dreadfully boring. Guess I can play some music or watch TV during these runs, nothing different from usual except I'll get to watch a full show instead of only 25 odd minutes of it.

Has anyone yet considered that this is an hotfix?

I do agree that the trash mobs should give *something* rather than a real wall inside the dungeons.

Most likely most of the content developers are working at 2.1, see SE's attitude. They are going to put a simple thing as Market Boards in 2.1 patch, and not in the current patch, while it could simply have been done.

I would not give up hope yet, I am thinking SE has something nice planned for in 2.1.

No loot on trash ? BORING.

Im glad they are doing something about the speedruns, but they should make it more rewarding to be killing all the time stuff. The dungeons as a whole could just give more allagan tombstones, but the chests also need to giving more than just allagan coins, especially more than those cheap bronze ones. Id like a possibility of crafting mats out of them as well, and I mean the ones that cost tombstones. Also the humanoid enemies should give more than 1 gil. Idk even know what they were thinking with that 1 gil nonsense in the first place.

For the time spent yes, its more efficent to run other dungeons

Pro tip: devs implement trash to SLOW YOU DOWN so you don't clear content stupid fast and cry about running out of things to do a month after the game comes out. Trash doesn't have to be rewarding. Why do you need a reward to kill these easiest npcs in the instance?

Even with or without the speed run the n00bs will still fail hard on the Demon Wall cos they don't understand the concept or moving when purple shit is beneath them!

I heard they increased the drops of the tomes is this correct? Anyone know what the new numbers are?

Also, not trying to start the 11 to 14 comparison, but does anyone remember getting your relic or AF2 in Dynamis? Yes it's going to take some time to get the best gear in the game currently, but that's what makes it worth it. Yes for the most part ARR was suppose to be a more casual FF MMO, but the harder content (end game content) should not, in my opinion, be that easy to get, trash mobs or no trash mobs.

I don't understand why so many people are celebrating this change. All they did was make the game more annoying for the majority of the player base.

Let me leave you with this; if you were getting people to rage quit from your runs before, they will still rage quit now, and it's not 20 minutes you just wasted it will be closer to an hour.

The whole point of entering a dungeon or instance is to kill whats inside and get the loot, are you saying you want to skip the killing and just have the auto win button ... really ?

Make it worth your while, how about you play the game as it was intended instead.

How is not clearing trash gives you an auto-win button? You still have to kill the bosses, which is obviously much more challenging than killing trash mobs. If you can kill the bosses, you can kill the trash mobs, period. The only difference is that now clearing it takes much more time for the very same rewards, aka time sink.

Players will always find 'unintended' ways the company couldn't possibly think of. But SE has been known to force 'their' way down our throats, so this was expected.

You should replace 'unintended' with exploitative. You can't really describe skipping three-quarters of a dungeon as anything else.

People these days seem to forget thats what trash is... nothing, its worthless. The whole purpose for going in a dungeon is to defeat the bosses. People were able to skip the stuff thats supposed to make it rewarding to reach the boss. And now that they can't skip it they cry like the little spoiled brats they are.

Your reward for killing the trash is getting to fight the boss plain and simple, nothing more, move along.
