Who can support a community that constantly disregards any sort of improvement in favor of ridiculous "unique" features like market wards? God forbid someone mention any other successful MMO in a thread without getting jumped by the super cool secret exclusive club whose members are the VERY FEW amount of people actually enjoying this garbage. We paid $80, we have accounts to access the forums, we're going to complain. We were sold a pile of crap on a plate, and maybe some members of the community enjoy eating shit, but I would much rather have a steak. I want to see this game succeed, but my vision of this game's future don't involve the armory system, awful repetitive zones, a poorly thought out battle system, or half-assed items and content.

You all whine about people wanting to change your beloved 4.0 game even if it'll be for the better. To me it just seems selfish that you would even want to keep it in the state that it's in. It will already take a miracle to bring the population up to a decent number and you'd rather jeopardize that by having them focus on the few people who have low enough standards to enjoy this MMO and defend it from any and all criticism like its their mother? Gurl please.

Once again the main problem with the developers making this game was the graphics they had. They pushed it to the limit so now its hard to add new things. They got to scratch it entirely if they want any hope of reviving their name which actually died before 14, but we'll get into that matter another day.

Frist you say that rift has endgame at launch, there is absolutly no point in this for a game that takes months to get level 50, any games company wants to make profit out of a game asap, if it takes 3 months to write endgame and it they suspect it will take 3 months to to get rank 50 it doesnt take a rocket scientist to realise the logical thing to do. The problem is SE didnt realise how impatiant the western world is who for some reason wanted to do endgame at rank 1 so the logical course of action backfired.

Also 7 months is not a year, what you dont seem to understand is because they rushed the launch of the game they are rebuilding it, if the code isnt properly commented (i dont know if it is or isnt) the smallest jobs take alot of time.

Also in your post you are contradicting yourself, you say about how long it takes for content, then say because they pushed it to the limit its hard to add new things, only an idiot would not know if somthing is hard it takes longer to implement.

when I am playing on my i5 laptop, i admit my graphics card is fully loaded, but the cpu isnt, any graphics overhaul could affect my laptop, but the content that has been announced would mainly load my cpu more and make my laptop have to make more calculations which it can handle.

Everything you list as "small" fixes really arent, chocobos for example need to be implemented in the stables, thats adding code to the chocobo stables, also an npc to rent em and take gil, then programming in all zones to say where they can and cant go, and (if they want) to implement a time limit on how long you can ride them for which isnt as small as you make it look.

You constantly compare FFXIV to WoW, Rift and Aion, 2 of which have been out for years and have had time to fix any flaws also didnt WoW currently undergo a huge graphics overhaul? the only game you can compare it it to that you listed is Rift, because thats a recently launched game, it seems like these are the only mmos you have played which is why you want a hybrid of these 3 games.

Finally, you are the only person I have seen say WoW's graphics that look like they have been drawn like a 6yr old are better than ffxiv.

Basicly you do want the game to fail and you also want the final fantasy franchise to fail no matter what you say about wanting the game to succed, i could imagine if they made a WoW/Aion/Rift clone the game would fail, people that are playing now like the game but they do realise it has huge flaws, if they want to play WoW, Aion or Rift they would play those not expect FFXIV to be a hybrid of the 3 of them.

Try wrapping your head around the idea that unique and different does not equal good. When a game is fundamentally flawed, total change can indeed equal improvement. Try thinking outside the box, it won't hurt I promise.

The lore is what makes Final Fantasy a Final Fantasy game. Its easier to follow the lore in offline Final Fantasy games because the story pushes it on you. In FFXIV, its your choice to play through the story or not. In WoW, of course you're not going to sit there and read every quest, so i can see where you're anti-lore attitude comes from.

Did I once mention copying other games? I was excited for this game's release precisely because it would be something new and different, but it just so happens that these features are part of what makes the game terrible. I am not saying go back to old systems, but I am saying that the current ones need to be reworked. Even then, bringing back GOOD features from other games will not hurt this at all.

Not really. I just seek the middle ground between the hardcore "Make it exactly like WoW/FFXI/Rift" crowd and the ridiculous "This game is great, it just needs a few tweeks!" horde. The state of this game just baffles me completely. What gets me is that the people who defend this game find the silliest excuses to back up their arguments. For example: In another thread a person plays off the black shroud's design by saying "Have you been to a forest? It's full of trees! You don't see temples every 50 meters". Really guys?

I quit FFXI for this game because I thought "Wow, after 6 years of playing this game SE will finally make a brand new MMO with brand new everything woo 2010". Last time I'll say this. Development on their major changes started very late opposed to what MMOs usually do and start working on their major content in updates even before it's launch.

Yes really you just made that plain. The problem with generalizing people and stuffing them in categories is that you don't see what's right in front of your face. The vast majority of people posting here regularly want the game to improve, we want it to see it grow and have fun with it. But we do not always agree on the same features to be implemented or improved. That doesn't make some of us stupid or blind. There are times I agree with the same posters I completely disagree with on other points. That's normal.

I would like to see this community work together not keeping to accuse and demoralize each other as this thread in my opinion does.

Just because I hate how the world layout is set up does not mean I'll attack the views of someone who thinks it's fine the way it is. I only respond appropriately. I won't just attack any person with different opinions, just the ones who act hostile or rude about it. Sorry if I offend anyone by calling their opinions ridiculous, that is just me expressing my own. It's a forum for a subpar video game, I don't take any of it seriously and I wouldn't really expect anyone else to either.

I can understand that, if someone is rude or attacking another view then it's inappropriate and I can understand why someone might be rude and attack back... but that is also dropping to their level instead of rising above it? We are probably all guilty of doing it now and then, but because someone is rude to someone else doesn't make it right to be rude back.

Also, as you say this is a forum for a 'subpar' video game, you don't take it seriously and don't expect others to. But some do, some want to see this 'subpar' video game improve and succeed and are very much about trying to make positive changes. I take the changes made to this game seriously, I want it to improve and become a game that actually succeeds where other games have failed. I want to look back and go 'Wow look how this game started, and look how much its changed and become something wonderful!'.

If people honestly care about the future of this game then they should be taking it seriously, and I would expect that most of the people who actually take time to be on this forum and interact are doing that because they want this game to improve and take the changes seriously as well.

If no one cares, no one takes it seriously, then why are we here in the first place?

The taking it seriously bit was only in response to the flaming/trolling/badmouthing/etc that goes on here. If I didn't want this game to improve I wouldn't be on these forums and I wouldn't regularly check the dev tracker, letters from the producer, or the patch notes. Trust me, I REALLY want this game to be good some day, but I don't agree with the few people who are against changes (attacking anyone who suggests them) and possibly holding the game back.

SE should just make the game satisfactory now, then add their own ideas later. This may be the only chance we will actually get to throw in some pretty awesome ideas before we get the real release of the finished product. Not everything will be implemented, and we wont agree with everything SE will add, but what is a game where you have everything you want? That doesn't exist in any game, there is always something there to "cock block" you in the longrun.

I would agree if the threads were made with the purpose of spreading said disagreeable ideas, but it's usually threads where people suggest a decent change/criticize a flaw in the game where the crazy zealots jump in and attack.

Make instance'd pve dungeons. For every level and then have heroic level 50 instances.

If you really must add PVP which at this point of time not many people care about since ff is typically a PVE game add battlegrounds and arena. Don't rush it either and take your time, but don't take a year to add one UI change like you typically do.

Nerf graphics? You guys pissed off atleast 50% of the people who wanted to play xiv because the graphics are so intense. Even though the game's shiny its hideously looking. Yes look at the water graphics, look at the nature, look at the copy pasted terrain. Now lets look at WoW, Rift, and Aion. All decent graphical games, but they're all more beautiful then xiv due to there terrain.

Add achievements a small thing, but every small thing matters in an mmo.

Tittles small thing once again.

Add Auction house and mail box.

Now don't listen to the people who say this game is fine the way it is and just needs endgame. These people are people who are idiots in real life and have mental issues and thinks SE cares for there customer base when everyone obviously knows SE could give a damn about there customer base.

Add chocobos its been almost a year and we still have yet to see any. Give it a .dot hack type of mount system where you start with an egg and you can feed the pet and it eventually grows up to be a mount.

My best advice to give SE at this point of time would be to completely scratch the game though and have yoshi go play rift hit cap try endgame and do the same with aion and wow. Afterwards take the things from there and notice how 99% of gamers could give a damn about graphics. Make a game that looks like aion, but has a nice fluid combat system. Afterwards do all the things I said above.

Add costumes that cover over gear that drop from bosses or are given from quests.

Add more cities. 6 places does not make a world nor does 9 nor does 12. Have atleast 20 different areas to go to.

Make it possible to solo, BUT at the same time group to level up so players have the choice.

Stop taking 3 weeks to fix a small UI change or something otherwise you won't get any progress done.

Okay thanks for reading I know many people will troll me saying xiv is fine and all, but those guys are the real trolls because they want xiv to fail where as I want it to be the best it can be.

Criticizing a flaw isn't really making a suggestion though, its just called whining. Suggesting how SE may fix the said flaw is something that is discussable. That is why the zealots attack, because threads like that offer no variable to reply.

Wow people are seriously still crying at this point? You would think FFXIV was the only thing in the world to do. If you refuse to wait any longer then don't and move on. If you haven't drilled it into your brain that this is a b2p beta by now you have issues. The game is free as of now so there is no need to be forced to log on and cry some more.
