Two of my friends payed for early access and can't even get onto a server. Promising a service, taking people's money and not delivering goes by an unflattering name. Apologies which aren't accompanied by action are hollow and meaningless. At the least, tabling a coherent plan of action with a timeline would give players who have handed over their money, some closure to this period of frustration.
That's exactly what I'm hoping for. The customers and end-users I deal with would be really pissed if all I ever did was hand out generic apologies. Sometimes I tell them too much and it makes their head spin, but at least they know I'm on top of it and they're in the know.

Finally a real answer to the problems we are experiencing. More worlds early next week.Quote:
However, the second half of the announcement regarding increasing the capacity of our data centers was meant to also encompass North American and European data center Worlds and not just be limited to Japan data center Worlds.
How about...

We deeply apologize for causing concern amongst the North American and European community due to our lack of clarity. Capacity will be increased for data centers in all regions.
Seriously Bump ada Bump lets go
No idea how anyone can think this kind of behavior is acceptable. Take our money and give us what exactly? I should be able to log on whenever i want, not just in the very early AM. I know the Dev team has it tough but being left in the dark really doesn't help much when you're so frustrated from hours upon hours of 1017 issues. Some get to play and the rest just have to wait it out, although most of us payed the same amount for the game. And another thing, how did they even allow the servers to fill up past compacity to begin with? Did they not keep an eye on the numbers?
Finally got to play, but maintenance came up an hour later. YAY! lol
BUMP again... this is pathetic that we cant log in to our characters and have to wait til next week for new servers AND this weekend is labor day weekend when people just want to relax doing whatever in the game. Im really tempted to just return my 4 copies and take my money back to blizzard and play WORLD OF WARCRAFT. Such a great game with massive potential thrown out the window because of a simple server fix based on number of copies sold, this should have been done BEFORE LAUNCH. With that said you owe players a lot ...more so to the legacy players who helped support this game. damn shame... on the other side thank you Yoshi and devs for recreating a fantastic game.
This is the 2nd day of release, they released a product that most people havent been able to play since Early access day 1.
Our free 30 days shouldn't start ticking away until they resolve this problem. Its completely unacceptable.
I disagree. The faster the free 30 days runs out the faster all the pretenders will be gone and we'll be stuck with the dedicated players that won't just flock to the next shiny thing.
While that is true i don't like spending money on something and not getting what was entitled to me for my $.
I think anyone who works will agree that all tho $30 isn't much Id still like everything that was advertised to me in my purchase. If the company i work for Charged someone full price then only did half of the job that was quoted we would get sued.
Bump Bumpty Bump Bump!!
Cool. Got in after work, 15 minutes later the game crashed and have now been stuck behind the 1017 monster for 45 minutes. Sigh.
yay labor day weekend here in the US and guess what, WE CANT LOG IN...of course Square doesn't care the jp servers are up and running with some minor congestion problems that they fixed over night. instead of posting well were off to play see ya in the world or all these posts of little issues that wont come in to effect til next patch how about everyone works together to fix the afkers and gold spammers causing the congestion. What point is there in being able to sort your inventory or any minor "quality of life improvements" if you cant even log in.
The sever expansions are coming this week. It's not that easy to just throw in some random code without testing it. It would likely take longer than a week or two to even implement an afk kick. We all know how much QQing goes on around here; if they implemented something like that this quickly and it caused another server bug, everyone would by crying about how SE screwed up again.
If they beta tested longer than just 4 weekend phases then they would have been more prepared is my opinion. The last beta test should have started far sooner and lasted at least a month and not just on the weekend. Then they could have been more prepared for this. I get what you are saying but the we didnt expect this excuse is getting dry.
I did not notice anywhere on Yoshida's posts whether there would be free server transfers to the new servers. Anyone?
Point is this has gone on since PHASE FOUR...that's just inexcusable, I didn't complain in phase four as it was just beta. They knew the numbers well before hand, afk kick should have been tested in phase 4. Servers can be leased and already have a 72 hour burn in test done on them, it doesn't take a full week unless the company is building their own and only working 8 hours a day. You can lease then clone the storage over once you have your own servers built and ready. If this happened where I work and these people were OUR customers we would be working around the clock to fix this. Regardless of what business your in too, that's the way it works. You do EVERYTHING with what it takes to satisfy the customer and their issues so you can keep making money. This alone is going to cost them paying customers, people will leave find something new and forget all about it.
This is REALLY testing my patience... My only day off from work and I STILL can not log in after countless attempts after my shifts.
I am so close to throwing in the towel.
double post**
I live in Japan and play on Japanese servers and I can't login either (for the past 2 nights), our primetime is just as bad as NA/EU primetime, and yes its very frustrating and my patience is running thin. But the argument of JP servers are fine and never have problems really need to end.
Why they cant' even just put a queue to login, instead of just letting use keep bashing our keyboard, and mouse.
This is stupid! SE is screwing this one up again like the previous FF14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've had the extact same issue and have been unable to enter the game, please give us a timetable for when we can expect the new hardware so we can plan accordingly with our friends.
If you're Legacy will you still be able to move to less congested worlds?
First the NA/EU Servers, now it's the JP Servers- and this is now after many people decided to move to the JP Servers as they appeared more stable.
Square, I thought you couldn't afford to mess up a second time with XIV?
Indeed. The earlier issues that affected only the NA/EU data centre have been resolved (yay, progress), which leaves the congestion issue.
My current concerns are that while they are clearly planning to add new worlds to alieviate the congestion, there are two other things that need to happen which have not been discussed by SE:
- How to get the existing servers uncongested by getting players moved off them an on to the new servers.
- Addressing Lobby Server capacity so that it can actually handle the floods of login attempts that follow a datacentre crash, or even simply planned maintenance.
I shall be forcing myself to patience for the next week since they clearly have some things in the works. We can re-assess then.
(Also, in my opinion, open beta was far too short to properly pick up on and resolve the bugs that have only just emerged from the woodwork with the Phase 4 updates.)
I had over 10 friends brought the game and played together, but up to today, best i see is only 3 friends online. Some have said they are quitting.
THIS IS SAD!
Yup playing on Tonberry, today 1017 strikes so hard.
