That is correct, if you buy PC CE you will not get the 4 CE in game bonus items without buying the CE Upgrade as well. So PC CE $ + CE Upgrade $ for what should be included in just buying the CE in the first place.

This has probably been answered previously... but in all honesty I'm slightly confused. So:
1) I'm a Legacy Member, that bought the 1.0 Collector's edition. As such I'll get all the collector's edition digital items(Coeurl, Behemoth, Helm, Minion) on my current "service account" that has my Main Character on it? And I'll have early access?
2) I want to be able to play my original character on the PS3. I also want the Collector's physical items and pre-order items.
I can pre-order the Collector's Edition PS3 version and register that to my Legacy Account and play my "service account" on my PS3? I won't be able to play PS3 while I play on the PC? But my main Character will have the Collector's Items and pre-order items and be able to be played on either system? So long as they are registered to the same service account?
3) I can get the free normal download for PC ARR version.
1) Only thing you do not get is early access if I understood the post right.
2) You cannot play on PS3 and PC at the same time (assuming you're trying to use the same Square-Enix ID.) And if you want to have the in-game items, then you have to register the PS3 account under the same Square-Enix account with your PC account. (I'm -assuming- you can use your PC character on your PS3... I don't know.)
3) Yes.
I guess that if you activate the PS3 code, log in on your PC, then grab your bonus items... You can just deactivate the PS3 ID on your Square-Enix ID. And with the free trial stuff, wouldn't cost you the 12.99 to activate the account. Nor would you have to pay 70 dollars for the CE then 20 for the digital upgrade... >_> And seeing as the PS3 CE can be pre-ordered from GameStop, I'll just chip some money their way and save myself shipping and handling...
Unless this suddenly because a ban-able offense. <.<
Pretty sure the answer to all 3 questions is "Yes!"
(You're legacy so you get early access regardless of codes)
As for your concerns for being able to play on PS3 - Accounts are cross platform, you'll have to register your service account on the PS3 and you can only register one account on each playstation ID thinger-majog (forgot the technical term). Basically, link your 1.0 account to your PS3.
You can play your account on both PS3 and PC but just not simultanously. Kinda like in XI where you could log in from your xbox or your playstation or even PC but just not at the same time♪
I'm a bit annoyed with this news.
I like many others rushed to pre-order a CE of the game, hoping I could just use the bonus on my existing 1.0 legacy standard account. Today I learn that the CE items are actually contained in the new key they sent me via email, thus eliminating the possibility to add said items to my account.
I want the pre-order bonus, the hat and the minion, and I want the CE items. I know I can cancel my Digital CE, but then I miss out on the pre-order bonus items. Or I can keep the Digital CE that I have so that I receive the pre-order bonus, and then do a CE upgrade when it become available. Thus making the two pre-order items cost 49.99.........
WTF SE? Why can't you just make this easy for us? Different item codes for each item, then your reg key. I had planned on keeping the reg key and giving it to a buddy who would be interested. So by doing it this way you just missed out on an extra sub. What logic is this?
I wanted to link you this page to answer your questions about multiple-PS3 users/accounts.

Important information for those who have pre-ordered the Playstation 3 version.
■Unfortunately, you can only register a single product code (a code that comes with every copy of the PlayStation 3 version) to a Square Enix account. Please do not purchase more than one copy if you are planning to register them under the same Square Enix account.
The only way for you to create multiple service accounts with the PlayStation 3 version is to purchase additional registration codes through the “FFXIV Service Center” website which will be available after launch. Please note that you will need an active FINAL FANTASY XIV service account in order to access this website.
■Friends and family members playing alternatively with multiple Square Enix accounts:
If multiple people wish to play alternatively on the same console, you will need to prepare a user profile for every person. Once the user profiles are prepared, you can simply switch the user profile accordingly.
Please be sure everyone has the following items ready.
- A Square Enix account
- A Sony Entertainment Network account
- A copy of the PlayStation 3 version
■Friends and family members playing simultaneously with multiple Square Enix accounts:
In this situation, each person will need a PlayStation 3 console.
*Please note that account sharing is a violation of the terms of service. This rule applies to the sharing of Square Enix accounts and Sony Entertainment Network accounts.
Thought I had posted this here...
It really shouldn't have happened like this, but I'm glad we found out as quickly as we did.
Today I dusted off my PS3, plugged it into my router, updated it and made my very first PSN account! Even set up Netflix and Amazon Video on it and moved the Roku to the living room! :p
I cancelled my previously placed pre-order with SE/Digital River for the PC CE and happily ordered my PS3 CE from Amazon.
My only "regret" in all this is that I won't have a physical copy of the PC edition. PS3 will only be a "back up" for me, I don't expect to use it much, hopefully not much at all.
What sucks is for the people who don't happen to have a PS3 laying around. Because for them you can't just say "pre-order the PS3 CE". Not going to do them a lot of good. This definitely should have been done differently.
I'm hoping they do something about this, I don't have a ps3, I want the CE items and the pre order items. I don't really know what to do, I know I'll go the digital upgrade route, but I would like the pre order bonuses too without paying out the nose for them.
PlayStation 3 (Package*) $79.99
Windows (Package) $69.99
If you want the physical items that come with the Collectors edition, buy the ps3 version I wouldn't say 10 dollars more is paying out the nose for it. You still get everything the pc version offers but you also get the ps3 version of the game and that grants the ability to play on the ps3. If you don't own a ps3 you still got everything just paid a bit more.
Um you'll need a PS3 to register the PS3 item codes iirc ; ;
I could be totally wrong, feel free to correct/clarify
Edit: Herp-de-derp I read Hvinire's post incorrectly!
We can register the PS3 version to an existing windows account but it's unclear if we can do this via PC ; ;
I don't want the physical CE stuff, I pre-ordered the CE digital download for 49.99, this I thought would net me all the CE items and the pre order bonus stuff. Now we find out that the CE stuff won't be added to our accounts like we thought. The money smart way to do this is to cancel my pre order, buy the standard version for 29.99 so I can get the pre order stuff and then do the digital upgrade when that becomes available. It doesn't seem like that much of a savings but it's crazy to me that SE would do this and actually cheat themselves out of money and make themselves look foolish in the eyes of their fan base at the same time. Fix this issue please SE.
So what because i wanted the art book and sound track from the CE and seeing as i have another account that's the standard edition i was under the impression i could just have registered the In game item codes onto that account, but by the looks of it i can't? are the code for the game and items the same code or something this is sounds annoying though the In game items would be treated the same as the onion helm in 1.0 with it's own code and i'll would be free to registered that to any account sigh....
When will the "FFXIV Service Center" open?
It is my understanding that we cannot upgrade our standard account to a CE account digitally until this is launched. I hope that this service launches soon so I can pre-order my CE digital upgrade to get my in-game bonuses.
Wouldn't it be easier to just send out promo codes to the legacy members for the discounted CE edition? Each code could be randomized but linked to that members account. That should prevent non-legacy members acquiring that promo code.
wow thanks a lot SE! So i'm now stuck with a PC physical collectors edition that I can't cancel as i've already recieved the pre-order code and if I want the items which i've already bought i'm going to have to splash out on an extra digital upgrade? This makes no sense, at least make a website somewhere where i can type in my physical code and you can swap it to an upgrade code or something.
I feel so cheated right now.
edit: it's also slightly ironic that YoshiP is banging on about making stuff in game 'less stressful' and yet every update here is the opposite. First the mess up with the credits and now this.
I understand SE is not willing to give all people who played 1.0 version the ability to upgrade the game into pre-oder status, however, what about just the people who pre-ordered the original 1.0 version? Could we have a digital upgrade at least for them? Or a chance to trade 1.0 pre-order items for ARR pre-order items? I really like ARR items so much more.
I don't think there will be such thing as digital pre-order. Although that would be quite awesome! (Go for it SE!!)
Sill waiting for news regarding those who have pre-ordered from third party retailers and still didn't got the pre-order codes.
For those who purchased the Windows Collector's Edition and just found out that the registration code can't be applied to your existing code -
Please go to this link on the LIVE Letter question thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...339#post997339
See if you like the posted question/suggestion, and then "like the question" and maybe we can get them to implement this and fix the situation for a lot of people.
Why is everyone saying they can't cancel a 90day out preorder? I was able to quickly and easily cancel mine last night. I don't understand. ?
Digital upgrade is $19.99 see source: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/produc...eSpecialAnchor
Can you digital upgrade your account into CE version also after the release of ARR? I do not wish to upgrade my account at this time, however I might change my mind in the future.
If i have a 1.0 legacy account and i add a PS3 FFXIV ARR Game to this FFXIV service account will it add the 30 free game time days of the ps3 game ?
I pre-ordered from SE store (the NA PC CE was not sold anywhere else) and they charged my CC initially but by the time I went to cancel, it was no longer on my card anyway. Even still, they should refund you for an item you cancel long before it's even available or ships.
EDIT: Also, when I preordered it (last week?) they emailed me a pre-order bonus code. I was still able to cancel without issue. I assume that code is no longer of any use. Also, at the end of the order conf. email which included a pre-order bonus code, it said this:So it would seem that any code they sent with a pre-order confirmation email is really of no use until later anyway.Quote:

I believe that SEs thinking is You received all the stated benefits for pre ordering Ver 1.0. By their definition this is a new game and as such the pre order benefits should only apply to ARR orders. The digital in game items for people who purchased the CE for Ver 1.0 is a good will gesture from SE to those people and SE is offering people who purchase the standard edition to pay the difference in price from the Standard Edition to CE addition if they want to receive the in game items. That choice is strictly up to you.
Your situation is the same as mine. You will receive early access on the PC due to the fact that you are a Legacy member. If you pre oder the PS3 CE you will receive the physical items and can link the PS3 version to your existing account. My confirmation e-mail stated that instructions will be sent out allowing you to download the PS3 version prior to the official launch so you can get the benefits of Early Access on the PS3. If you want the Physical items then Pre Ordering the PS3 CE is the way to go in your case. You will get the best of both worlds that way. If you do not Pre Order the PS3 version then I believe that you will only have early access in the PC.
So I don't completely understand this blurb:
~~~
Which of these are possible scenarios when registering copies of the game:
Square Enix Account
- FFXIV Service Account 1 (Windows) < the pre-existing account
- FFXIV Service Account 2 (PS3)
Square Enix Account
- FFXIV Service Account (Windows & PS3)
If they are, does that mean in the first case service account 1 is PC only and service account 2 is PS3 only? Also, in the latter case, would I be able to play on the PC and PS3 at the same time?
Both scenarios are possible:
"in the first case service account 1 is PC only and service account 2 is PS3 only?"
This is correct.
~~~
Does this mean, if I was a brand new player, and I purchased the PS3 version, I cannot play on a PC with my account at all? Or would I have to purchase both PS3 and PC versions, and link them together (assuming that's a possibility)?
I don't think I even need to read the scenario to know the answer to your "brand new player" question. Of course you'd have to buy both PC and PS3 software (and link them if you wanted them to be same account) if you wanted to be able to play on either platform.
If someone who purchased the 1.0 Standard Edition wants the FFXIV: A Realm Reborn Collector's Edition in-game bonus items, is it possible to obtain these by buying the Collector's Edition digital upgrade? Or will it be necessary to purchase the
Standard Edition of ARR as well as the digital upgrade?
okay where do u buy the digital upgrade?? because in the website where u buy the game it doesnt say upgrade
You can't buy it yet.
