I swear that bow / arrow thing was a Japanese or Yoshida thing though because I've never read a serious thread about it before. Listening to the vocal minority that never vocalized... (yes there is a big thread about it -now- but that was after they removed dem arrows)
Because removing arrows is a huge quality of life improvement that would get people like me, who avoid classes that rely on consumables, to actually play those classes, thereby increasing the pool of players capable of covering the roles filled by said classes?
I never levelled ninja in FFXI. I hated Utsusemi tanking and the fact the job functioned entirely because of consumables. Likewise, I never leveled RNG or COR for similar reasons.
Nova Crystallis Says that, in 4hour to check back at this site: https://twitter.com/Nova_Crystallis
In Reference to FFXIV.
SE is no longer catering to just JP...wish they would realize that someday lol. At least this game doesn't have "JP midnight" crap :/ At least make it fair and do greenwich time....sheesh...
Wait...are people mad that a Japanese event is showing it's trailer during hours that are only convient for the Japanese....I'm shocked and awed at the audacity!
I'm only impatient because I know a lot of other people got to see it already. XD
Trailer is up!!! http://youtu.be/NSohOcew0-8
nothing new again
oh wow... that was really..... not.... smooth at all. what's going on? :(
That's clearly not a problem with the game itself. It seems more to do with how-ever they recorded it because we've seen some of that footage before and it's lagging when it didn't before. Absolutely terrible that they even released a trailer with those problems existing within it though, but I don't think those lag problems stem from the game itself based on previous footage.
Is it just me or does the gameplay look like it lags? o.O Something about it looks...off. :(
La Noscea, Thanalan, Coeurls and Iron Giants, and people complain about video lag? Come on
Looks pretty terrible.
The characters look worse, but the enviroment looks pretty good lol.
I know this is knit picking but does anyone think there is too much grass in the uldah area and like no grass in the grass La Noseca?
Lag is terrible and it's not even from the game. We've seen some of the same footage in the last trailer with no lag and the presentation video has no lag whatsoever.
I wanna slap whoever made this trailer.
I wanna slap ppl tha com.. oh nvm.
Oh no! This reminds of FFXI lol..and not in a very positive way lol
I hope those are not the highest graphic settings.
There is a comparison pics going around with the a scene from the two trailers at the exact same moment. If it isn't stated out right in an article coming up for TGS, it has be on either the lowest settings or the PS3. Its not just the lag; the textures, lighting and shadows are noticeably different quality when paired up directly next to each other. Two trailers all from 2.0. Not to mention the Live Alpha demonstration were noticiably better even on lower resolution then what we got in this trailer. I bet just about anything with it coming from TGS this trailer was done with PS3 capture and as such it could be shoddy capture quality, still early optimization or a combination of the two for the frame rate issues, the actual quality of the render on the other hand, think this is what we are getting for PS3. And if so I think it looks fantastic looking.
Robotic? I shit myself hahaha. I had Starlords live link on in the background and at the sametime that scene came up the live stream started going again.
I was like OH GAWD THE RING!!! THE RING!!!
But yeah.. who ok'ed that trailer? Maybe we are missing some context, like others said - lowest setting/ps3.
hmmm I dunno... PS3 trailer using low spec mode or something??? can't be the PC trailer... I like how the trailer video was made but the graphic rendering itself seems like the previous released video's are better.
Don't worry guys Yoshi-P will issue a trailer retake in his next letter for the fail....
Looks more like something that came up after the video was encoded. The framerate dips also happen during CGI which is SE's specialty...
Time to switch back to Sony Vegas.
This is what happens when you record your game trailer with fraps.
I kid....I kid...

Final Fantasy XIV’s TGS 2012 trailer is here bright and early in time for the first business day of the show.
Though not too much in the way of newness, we can only assume the in-game footage comes from the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Of course, this is simply a guess based on the way the graphics look and Yoshida’s previous comments of the console version making its debut at TGS this year.
A full reveal for the PS3 version is expected next month.
If it is indeed PS3 footage than the graphic quality obviously took a blow. Let's just hope that the lagging is the video quality and not the lacking capability of the PS3.
