Abyssea is coming to xiv.
No it didn't FFXI still has like 2000-2500 people on a server at peak times. Most people who didn't quit weren't butthurt over their 75 gear being obsoleted found Abyssea to be really fun and gave you so much to do. I still play FFXI because of Abyssea. Had the game become stagnant with nothing new added my FFXI subscription wouldn't still be active.
Have you seen the trailer, is specifically shows Dalamud hitting, and it says how the only way we survive is being sent through time to wait, then we come back.
Also Zumi, the maws weren't just in Abyssea, they were in the past as well, looking exactly the same, this does not mean Abyssea will come to FFXIV, if it does I know a lot of people will quit. Atomos looks very similar to all the other Atomos incarnations, with some differences as he evolved so to speak.
Also for anyone who doesn't know Atomos is a gravity type mob/summon/whatever which is why he can suck people into his huge mouth, and in FFXI he had the ability to move you through time, if there was a linked maw, working just like wormholes.
EDIT: Stop calling Atomos a Carvernous Maw that was just FFXI, some people need education on FF games it looks like. Atomos is Atomos just like in all other games.
Quest name:

Monster of Maw Most Massive
So i presume some monsters will go out from Atomos..
Copy Paste.. damn...
SE should stop letting their Mobs looks similiar to their previous alter-ego's. /sarcasm off.
What i'm more curious about.. he's popping in certain Zone's... weather effect's changes... Is he actually fightable? or will be? And what is that new item for from Alchemist Recipe.. i wanna experience.. NOW! D:
Yea they were introduced as a way to go to the past [S] areas. However they also became the entry way to Abyssea which is a major part of FFXI endgame for the past couple years. People used the maws for abyssea in FFXI on a daily basis so that is what comes to mind.
Actually, in the trailer it seems like something emerges from Dalamud, like some sort of bridge. It doesn't exactly collide at all, at least not in its entirety.
I would have to agree with you on Atomos though, I do not remember Cavernous Maws being linked to Atomos aside from the design. Though I wish the dev team would have remodeled Atomos altogether instead of using the FFXI rip and having everyone go nuts and saying Abyssea is here. xD Besides, weren't Cavernous Maws introduced in WotG? Not Abyssea? O-o
I know, all jobs lvl 99 in 2 weeks (less actually) all geared in no time, Abyssea is just easy mode, give me a good old Dynamis where one wrong move would wipe a linkshell, or (in the case of windy) one wrong move meant the rest of the run was almost impossible any day over "Lets duo this with a WAR and WHM" and the awesome "You can't proc GTFO and level something useful" yeah loads better when my SCH and DRG struggled to get into fights just cos they couldn't proc as well as other jobs, and oh yeah "we only want as many jobs as we need so there's less competition." so much better.
My english is a bit bad, and i can't understand something correctly, so please help me ^^.
This mean that the reward from the hard and the normal one will be the same or what?Quote:
Completing the sidequest "Living on a Prayer" unlocks both "Rivenroad" and "Rivenroad (Hard)" repeatable battles. Please note, however, that no further reward will be issued for completing the former.
I'd assume that the to-be-introduced quest "Monster of Maw Most Massive" will probably involve Atomos, and so they could actually be referred to as "Maws" as a nickname they'd be given like in this title. It could be about something else entirely, but familiarity in names is something that's likely to have happened here (that added nostalgic feel and so on). It's not exactly unheard of.
Nah, I'm feeling the same way. I just can't see myself giving up my stonewall earrings for this. Now, the crown on the other hand...I'm very interested in seeing that. Curious as to what the stats are.
Not sure if you're just being facetious or not, but we already have plenty for that. Goobbue, legacy, legacy chocobo, possibly primal weps. Sure there's more, that's just off the top of my head.
when you think about it..
"A realm reborn"
"A realm"
"realm"
...Atomos will take us to a new realm
My linkshell refused to believe me when I told them I was in walk mode and got mauled by trees anyway. ;P
Now I have proof.
"An issue wherein players with Walking Mode switched to "Walk" would still be detected by sound-sensitive enemies."
I dont get why they'd have an easy mode in the first place then if you get no reward :P Just skip that and do hard mode.
75 was the cap for many years. Seeing the years worth of work get replace so easily is depressing. It's like Vannilla WoW to BC, your gear was good still if you did endgame, but eventually your purples get replaced by blues, if not GREENS. BC to LK was the worst, though. Unless you had t6 gear, or sunwell gear, the first greens were immediate upgrades.
Thats why the whole "Gearing up to be better is what this is about right?" mindset is wrong. People have worked harded for the 75 year. When it became useless.. people were bothered.
