I still think the does what he can with the budget he is allocated, and tries to defend it. But there is probably a big problem with budget allocation, and SE not wanting to use more money on XIV since it does well like this. Short term vision at its best.

I felt the same way about Zenos in EW and even before that but there were people that seemed to enjoy him so I had to tolerate him, you will have to tolerate this.

We couldn't mentor her even if the dialogue allowed for it thanks to the piss poor writing. Mentorship involves correcting mistakes, and all of her mistakes happened to miraculously correct themselves in her favor, any strife she may have had with other people miraculously went away the moment she started with her "peace and tacos" rambling, and any criticism of her we did get in the dialogue was met with US being criticized by one of the Scions. We were hired muscle at best, there to be felt and not heard.

Hired muscle that was really only needed when she got abducted, and then she was later strong enough to fight the same group off on her own without any additional training.
