Tanaka is an intelligent guy. Far too intelligent to think this game would have succeeded.

Louisoux has a Thaliak staff
Alright, just to help in theorycraft, ive put these together:

and

Does this show any sort of logic? lol
Have you tried to pray all the stones in the same time (with coordination)?
..impossible theories begin lol.
Only one has been confirmed we can interact with: n/w of crooked fork. It is done via a new quest at owl's nest in coerthas.
One note about this one-- during the quest, you can only progress if you poke the rock when it is night-time :o
I demand Byregot symbol in OP Post !! (coz he's my Deity)
Also, If the Main NPC (Thancred, etc) and Circle of Knowing (Louisoix, Urianger) doesn't that make them:
-Louisoix - Thaliak the Scholar
-Urianger - Rhalgr the Destroyer
-Papalymo - ??
-Yda - ??
-Thancred - ??
-Y'shtola - ??
-Gerolt - Byregot the Builder ??
Umm.. what, there's only that much that I can think of being Archon. It doesn't need to be all doesn't it ? Moreover, there's still lots to come from the story, the current one is nowhere as much (In terms of quantity) and it's not like they're gonna disappear suddenly from the lore & world when they're the "Gods"
On the contrary, this seems to confirm that it was. I have always assumed it was obvious to everybody that much of the storyline leading to the 7UE, and the advent of Dalamud, was planned from the beginning. Its details seems too consistent with early aspects of the narrative, and even the opening cinematic scene, at launch, had hints of the disaster to come. Tanaka himself mentioned some obscure references to the disaster, and scant hours after his assumption of Tanaka's Mantle, Yoshida released the prophecy verses, as a teaser to elicit our interest, so that we knew the game's best part was yet to come. I highly doubt he and his team came up with the entire fleshed out scenario in such a microscopically short time.
I think Tanaka's mistake was to assume the eternal timelines and the glacial pace he had tamed his audience in FFXI to begrudgingly accept as part of the deal, were going to be swallowed whole by a global audience well into the 4th generation of MMOs. I think he really, really thought that people were, once again, going to be satisfied with just the basics, and this would buy his time to slowly continue developing his large master plan. We were supposed to repeat his meager 4 levequests for two years, while he perfected his game.
McQuaid (Everquest & Vanguard), Garriott (Ultima Online & Tabula Rasa), and Tanaka (FFXI and FFXIV), they all had the same nemesis: Their own legendary status had them convinced that they could really controll the cycles of an industry which accelerates at almost gory pace and that, Saturn-like, sinks its hungry fangs on its own children. Hiriomichi Tanaka, I've always felt, was far too revered, especially by his own company, that he would've been surely granted 2 more development years if he had really pressed the case for them. On the contrary, I will continue to guess, he felt bound by his word and his own status to keep the timeline he had established, thinking the audience that adored him would give him the slack he needed to complete his game.

Congratulations, Dhalmel and everybody else that contributed to this, while the rest of us was trying, with only intermittent success to kill Nael van Darnus, and that Cyclop in Skirmish.
The work all of you have done today, restores my faith in the community, and shows these forums at their best. This is what our potential as a player base really is. Enough with the trolling, and lets focus on this increasingly toothsome game of ours.

Yes! Thank you for the hard work /bow
I really love things like this. Part of what made FFXI so special to me were these small, but carefully put details in the landscape you had to look twice to notice, so naturally, I'm quite excited by this.
It's going to be interesting to find out their purpose. Can't wait!
I'm SO sad right now..why are you people so fast?!
I LOVE exploration, I wanted to participate in finding them...but you already found all of them *cries uncontrollably*
My life in Eorzea has no longer any meaning....
I'll try to find out what we can do with them but..*wipes away tears*
Damn you fast people.
You are still awesome.
Awesome OP and everyone else. That's exciting.
Just had a few questions about this as well.
Did the Collectors Edition come with a map showing where the constellations are that represent the Gods?
and...
does it happen to match up to where those rocks were found?
Mine did not come with a map =(
I have got to say I am pretty stoked lol! I have so many thoughts I don't know where to start. From inception of 2.0 to now, I can say the ride has been a thrill. The 7th UE story really showcases FF style of story telling.. and the fact that Yoshi-P and the crew decided to let the player base "experience" the major change to the game by creating a story line that the player bases gets to enjoy is in my opinion TOP NOTCH.
For me, Sail or Sink... GREAT JOB YOSHI-P!
This is amazing... You all have done a great job finding this stuff out!!
I knew the 12 were going have someone to do with this!
I'ma go hunting tonight :D
Excellent post, even had me searching in between Hamlets. Can't wait for the next sub patches and 2.0.
I visited one of those stones (Azeyma) myself and tried every emote next to them but nothing happened.
(In case someone wanted to try)
ok Question... Where is that Aetheryte in the first Picture?
With the 7UE plot as its been I can see in retrospect that Tanaka had a really good idea. But he approached it completely wrong, and his mechanics etc were not good. I suppose the only way to get the public to accept "no, no, we've honestly got something worthwhile on the way just wait for it", was to get there under simultaneous radical mechanics/world changes and under new management with the promise of even better changes later. But Tanaka did need to go because even with this whole storyline, it would have been too frustrating with all the old mechanics, and the copy/paste world is getting frustrating too.
have you /prayed at the stone of your respective deity? im gonna look for it and see what happens
good thread. 10/10
someone posted earlier that rings with the deity symbols were put in this patch but thats false. just because someone found them in the dats and posted it doesnt mean they are in the game yet. it just means that the devs put them in the system but havent allowed you to get them yet. just like the summer items. on websites you can see that people posted the stats and stuff but the event hasnt even started. yoshi said that the end of the storyline will be strung along in an A/B/C system for this patch meaning there is more to come after just the fight with the white raven. also from the very beginning the devs have said that they wanted you to be able to meet your deity before 2.0. so just cause everythings starting to glo (which is really really cool) doesnt mean you can do anythign with it yet. all the deities if i remember correctly were actually allegans (sp?) who are the people who made dalamund to begin with so it makes sense that they are resonating now that its close by. I for one am really excited to see how its going to end before the world is blown to hell. On top of all of that im even more excited for the crystal tower since its supposed to be the final resting place of the last allegan emperor!
Thank you. It's threads like these that make the official forums worth coming to
Has someone tried praying at all the Crystals?
I just can't wait for the next part of the part B patch notes to say.
"We added 12 diety stones around the world have fun finding them all!" or whatever they had planned and we are all like.
"umm...sorry we kind of ruined your fun and found them allready!"

Not sure if anyone has made a post about this yet, but, Coerthas has some warships flying overhead. Followed them to the Black Shroud zone line all the way from Ishgard.
They make cool sounds flying overhead, too.
I don't know if anyones looked yet but have you guys checked around the "mako" reactors in thanalan jic?
Ah, my bad ^^;
