So...gonna re-release previous PvP series rewards for crystals or NOT?

While I understand the discussion between "Feast rewards or not" (Though I am of the personal opinion that I understand and respect keeping it exclusive), I think it's important to steer the conversation to the fact that the Series rewards were the ones promised to make a return, and it has still not happened.

They are either not keeping their promise, or the "Eventually" means "any time in the next 15+ years when we feel like it" which is misleading and dishonest.

Have no idea what has been up in this thread.

But seeing it resurface and seeing how things are going on in this game and others just makes me feel like it no longer matters as much what the other side of the conversation even believes at this point.

More so with the addition of "Glamour Outfits".

Players won't even see the names of said items, or even care.

If we look at Garo, Some would feel like it was a similar deal until it returned.

After many months, no one even cares after the fact.

It's literally just code and data that has become cyclical and ever so useless in conversation.

In other games that I played, where there have been time limited things, or Rankings.

It just never feels valuable ever to keep these things restrained and locked.

And perpetuating these draining conversations is the idea that we need to create bloat just for a few useless changes to name.

[It just feeds the ever increasing mountains of/and precariously stacked numbers, code, types, armors, locks, that SE needs to sort for other systems.

The time for discussion will slowly come to an end, just like for other IPs, the change from one title to another approaches.

The less complicated it returns, the less issues SE will have to deal with implementing and updating the Quality and Textures of old items.

Maybe they'll make it a huge deal and splash if it's part of the potential pvp region push.

[It really just is tiring thinking of my alts and the PvP Malmstones. I'd turn it off for my alts if I could. and honestly with alot of things in this game. it should of unlocked AccWide. with the option to withhold for a alt if desired.]

And to make it even more "Special" as ridiculous as it becomes the longer it takes for them to reintroduce EVERYTHING.
you can have the latest and shiniest take longer to reach for newer players as they slog through the old rewards.

Not only have they still not re-added old rewards, or added anything of substance at all... they've made participating in ranked even more stupid... You can't check retainers or chat with FC cause you're expected to DC travel for ranked. If they plan on fixing that, why in the ever living heck implement this change to ranked BEFORE fixing that???

How many more months can they ignore this you think?

Hunh. I completely forgot about this. Since I've been forced to restart on a new account because of the payment processor debacle taking away access to my previous wrong region locked account. I have all the time in the world to wait as I casually (for the 4th time) play through the main story and such.

Hopefully, we'll hear something come the new year between January and February. And if not? Then hopefully May-June. :(

Its kind of crazy to consider too as the promise for old Series rewards to return was announced before the Series Pass system was implemented, mere moments after they even revealed the existence of the system. So its not like this is something that was promised after the fact, but rather billed as a key feature of the Series Pass system and stated to be their solution to eliminating PvP FOMO. Yet its still missing in action a full expansion later. Heck, the slide even has "reward token" as the name of the trophy crystals currency as they had literally not finalized a name for them as of the time Endwalker's launch PLL aired.

It's frankly stunning to read that kind of takes when on the other hand in FL threads you have people complaining about "casual bots" just being there for the xp rewards and polluting a mode they don't even like doing or put effort into. Well maybe if some of this crap was TRADEABLE so we had a reason to do it after getting everything and people who don't like it can PAY ME for it, it might be different. How much gil do you think you could make selling sets of late allagan gear? I bet quite a lot judging from how much diadem gear goes for.

Also that other guy was totally wrong about the weapons being ugly. The tropaios gunblade is one of the coolest gunblades in the game, and most of the hellhound stuff is great too.

I really don’t understand why some players are so vehemently against majority of rewards like glams or mounts being tradeable.I like pvp so I have majority of the stuff I want, and I’d love to be able to earn some gil from all those marks and crystals I don’t need. While at the same time I’d really like to be able to buy some of the stuff from the content I don’t plan on ever touching personally.

The big advantage is that people only doing PvP for those rewards wouldn't feel the need to.

There's Rewards for partaking in content, and there's rewards for being forced to partake content.

And then there's Rewards for being forced to take part in the content in a limited time window where only a few people will actually get a chance at obtaining it. Most of which are alts, WinTraders, and minority of actually determined players who earned it.

Nothing wrong with the Rewards being only obtainable from Trophy Crystals and Wolfmarks.

It's just an extra bonus for partaking in PVP.

As with all Content and Gamemodes, The Main Priority of it, is to be fun, or enticing enough for those who like winning against other players. (Which for the more extreme of those players, the title and Seasonal Numbers is the Memory that counts. <though personally, I would change the seasonal number to how many times you've reached a tier, rather than the season you won. That way those with a Higher Tier Number would be more impressive than just a clone copy for having reached a tier during a time of play.> XIV Platinum/Diamond/Crystal Tiers is much more impressive that simply reaching that tier during Season XIV)

But back to Rewards, I see no reason for it to be tradeable or sellable.

All it does is incentivize those see the game as a marketboard minigame, It isn't.

Just like Certain new content will have issues when it dries out.

The focus should be on the content and the enjoyment. and The Rewards should match the content as well.

Feast/T100 is better off dead in the past.

Once again, a promise isn't indicative of a denial.

And at a certain point you have to stop caring what others desire for it to stay that way for it to grow and evolve.

Games already decade old, if it won't change with people asking for half-measures or adjustments.

Then it'll have to be with Full Exact item codes and No-Replica Names.

It would also save them money and space with reusing assets. Some items may have been discarded and missed by players who had been around that time.

It isn't just for players of today to enjoy.

It's also such mixed messaging. Veteran rewards used to be a thing for people that subscribed for a longer period of time. Years later they just discontinued that entirely and made them all available to purchase with Achievement points. I guess it's okay to screw over people that subbed a long time, but not screw over PvP Feast win-traders. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(as someone that actually earned the veteran rewards way back when the OG way, I don't CARE that it's easier to get them, just using it as a similar example for "diminishing value" of an older item and ignoring FOMO)

They discontinued the veteran rewards because there were people who were like "I don't want to have to sub for 4 years to get the Leonhard outfit, I want it now". Probably only to use it once and/or never play the game again a month after they have the outfit immediately.

I'm new to the game and I don't quite understand.

I thought it was a rumor, but apparently they announced it and there hasn't been any news since?

It was part of the official announcement of the current reward system, which was implemented a little under 3 years ago. They have said nothing about rewards becoming available for trophy crystals since that live letter.

My eyes about rolled out of my head when they posted the community team PVP stream...

To be honest even 5 years is a reasonable time for battle pass rewards to come to a vendor. After all, what would be the motivation to grind out the 25 ranks in pvp if you know the rewards are coming to vendor soon? Look at Fortnite, their battle pass rewards never come back. That generates the fomo to go and get the pass done.

I would if the cost of the vendor was sufficiently high.

Imo, time-gating content/gear in YEARS or even months is the worst possible thing.

I believe the best solution is to take the sum of the battle pass to 30, or maybe 35 if we want to be mean, in crystals (or the equivalent in those tokens you can buy with them...). Then simply charge the player that sum in exchange for whichever season's battle pass you want.

It would incentivize people to do the battle pass rather than slowly grind out the (current) battle pass for crystals.

I mean the bigger problem is people that *do* want the rewards because FLs are such a slog for anyone that's not regularly doing them. The bad targeting alone is enough to give someone fits. There's a difference between a palatable grind and a mildly infuriating one, and FLs definitely strike the latter for me. But I'm an RPer and I love emotes, so p a i n it is.

Yea but tbh, can you really say you want something if you cant even bother to do something 15min a day even if you dont like it? I hate FL too, without question im general not the fan of PvP in Final, but i still do the 15 min hell for a nice glamour i like, so if this is even too much for the people, no then they dont deserve the glamour

The Question isn't about getting people to do the battle pass.

it's to get things to return in the first place.

Why the hell are yall trying to make other layers of gates on content that needs to remove its fomo, and focus on entertaining and enjoyable content, maps, modes.

[They will add rewards regardless, and SHOULD rerelease past rewards in a shop, without much change or excessive costs.]

We also don't need to worry about A lack of players. People are incentivized to farm for every, Single, OUTFIT GLAMOUR that exists. and PVP has a whole ton of them.

We don't need to charge for past Malmstone Items, We only need past items to return as it was back when. Just upressed and with the same name.

[Do yall even know, how long it'll take for players to get all the trophy crystal items, if they start fresh?

WAAAAAAY LONGER if they are getting the 30k from the malmstones, and then having to collect 20k exp for every 1k afterwards.]

That's not even counting the Wolfmark's Outfit Glamour-able items.
(Which hopefully they find away to allow Tiered/Ilvl Gear to be used for Outfit Glamours. cause i want to just condense and shove garo into my Wardrobe already.)

Bump/Resurface.
Focus on what matters, it returning. The System already incentivizes and can support it.

Just needs more engaging modes and Content.

Rewards Come Naturally, If it's the Mode is Built for it.

Adding my voice in here as I made an alt recently for roleplay and having fun in baby content again and his character absolutely needs the /linkpearl /slump /determined and /handtoheart emotes. As it stands characters made after these pvp series are past just.. CAN'T get these essential emotes. There is literally no way, not even with real money like the event emotes on the mogstation one year later. No linkpearl?? Slump he'd use all the time! And /determined is the iconic WoL emote. These aren't extraneous fluff rewards; they're essential emotes. And they are in the game but completely inaccessible to new players and new characters.

How do characters made after the pvp series that have past get these? It's been years and we still don't have the promised way to get these rewards.

A super easy fix would just be to put old series rewards up for crystal rewards. Then you'd still have to do pvp for them, and it would solve two problems in one with the crystal rewards overflowing with nothing to buy.

Hot take : We should get a new PvP Battle pass/rewards ever 2 months and not 4 months.

Still hoping this happens as I've been waiting patiently for the Archfiend armor set to come back :(

for the most part im glad ive stayed for every reward. (lets be real i was gonna get it anyway while farming alpha wolf) but also. i discarded 2 items that prevented me from turning my pvp glams into a set. (the ugly helmets) because i had no idea back then theyde do this.. why is there no way to redeem them or buy them back

To be fair, any updates involving Series Malmstones happen during major patches (X.1, X.2, X.3, etc); subpatches like 7.16 in terms of PvP are mostly for Ranked Season cut-offs and balance adjustments.

7.2 liveletters still a while away and who knows if they eventually mention it. I'm not holding my breath yet though.

Just checking in to see if we had news. Come on, devs...

They should at very least communicate their plans with the old rewards and well, rewards overall.

Are we going to get them back and what way will they be aquired? Are they ever going to make any of the PvP currencies actually worthwhile?
