on topic, give us Hilda's hair & Estinien, & Hythlodaeus!!
Also, Ryne & Gaia. clipping does not hurt me.
sorry, im a doofus
, i think if it had perhaps a small widows peak & a second variant where it's less choppy and more like an even but grown out buzzcut? not that that matters.
the hair doesn't bother me at all but it will certainly favor some headshapes/faces & races over others as mentioned prior.
I like it. it's a risk. i'd settle with it over a lot of the current hairs that miss the mark for me.
and no stress about having to compromise when you wanna wear your fav earrings & you want to wear x hair but all hairs cover up the left ear which typically is where the single earring goes.
what would you do different/about the hair for your character if you were to wear it?
I was playing around with it again just the other day, actually - I continue to actually quite like it in a controlled "suitable outfit in a picture taken at a flattering angle" sort of way, but not enough to actually use it outright.
I think a key thing with it is that it's a good shape from the front and the way the game does fairly flat lighting (for now) gives the illusion that the bottom edge of the hair is the base of the hairline and it's sticking up all spiky, plus the illusory hairline is further forward than the real one. On a three-quarter view it starts to lose that illusion but is still a good shape, but as you get further to the side you can see it's more of a big squareish chunk sticking forwards at the front.
So I'd be keener on it if it actually looked from all views how it seems like it should look from the front.
It would also be nice to get a sleeker shorter version - I did a super-quick erase of the outer edge, and I thought the result looks good, again interpreting it with the illusory hairline:
And this is all just on Aurelie, who doesn't have major issues with the hairline because Midlanders' normal hairstyles tend to be close to that anyway.
Other races feel like they need varying degrees of adjustment. As I mentioned previously, I've been trying to get it to work on my Au Ra as well, and after an initial patch of trying to delude myself into liking it, I can only feel that the hairline is too high and needs to be pulled downwards a good inch or two for it to look presentable, and then it still has the other criticisms as I have given above.
I made this quick edit to adjust the front of it more to match where other hairstyles sit for him. His usually forehead-covering face paint design makes it really stand out just how unnaturally high this style goes compared to the others.
