More and bigger beards, for all races/
As I've said before, I'd love it if RDM, MCH, and AST had their weapons split into halves. RDM would have the blade and focus so you could glamour them separately, MCH would have the gun and lunchbox (which, let's be honest, about 90% of the game would immediately glamour away the instant they added an "Emperor's New Aetherotransformer" you could get ahold of).
AST, meanwhile... I know most people think the obvious suggestion would be the card sleeve that hangs at the AST's side, but I actually think it would be way more fun to be able to glamour the cards. Replace them with Triple Triad cards, or rectangles of pure fire or light, etc.
Balance notwithstanding, I'd really love more content like Bozja. And by that, I mean "content where the usual expectations do not apply"; Lost Actions and essences made for some really interesting play.
I doubt we're ever going to get back cross-classing, because this game is already becoming a nightmare to balance (and we've demonstrated, as a playerbase, that we need padded walls or we'll develop a party meta and kick 'underperforming' jobs from PF -- witness the fate of certain DPS jobs early this raid tier).
But Bozja demonstrates they're willing to let us wander off the beaten path, as long as we do it somewhere over there, a safe distance away from raid balance implications.
Remove the Stuffed Alpha and the Stuffed Bom Boko from the retainer loot table :mad::mad::mad:
My choice would probably be more options in character customization. More sliders to adjust the size and position of key features (eyes, eyebrows, mouth, nose), more faces, more facial hair for everyone, a booty slider, more tattoos and individual racial features as well as more shared options, an option for NO bears scales on male Au'ra like Varshahn, ear shape and size options on Miqos and Hrothgar, etc. And then I have a separate request to edit what I consider flawed options that already exist, namely Hrothgar hair highlights being attached to all fur highlights and Au'ra horns shapes being completely locked to one face each. The Au'ra predicament in particular stops me from ever even trying out the race because on both genders I dislike the horns attached to the faces I prefer.
I hope to see at least half of this implemented by 8.0. Prayer circle.
Choose your class' patch version with scaled damage. That's right. You wanna play 8 minute long rotation SMN for the same damage as peepee poopoo 3 button presser SMN? You got it. Now everyone gets to have fun.
One single pane of glass to all retainers, i.e. access to all retainer inventory, ventures, market listings, gil storage, all on one UI window.
No questions asked, dreaming allowed?
Proper instanced housing. No, not the cupboard under the stairs Harry Potter shit we currently have.
- every character above a certain level and MSQ progression is eligeble for housing. That includes alts.
- you choose a location first which is not limited to the main cities but can also include areas like Crystarium, Ruby Sea, Dravanian Forest etc.- the locations don't have a limit on how many players can choose them and if every single player on a server wants their housing in Ruby Sea, that's possible. It's also possible to change location although maybe with some restrictions.
- you start with a smaller house and plot and upgrade it through a housing instance specific questline all the way up to a mansion (if you want)
- through the questline you can also customize the garden size (e.g. combining a small house with a large garden), garden layout (making it longer, attaching it to the back/ front/ side of the house etc), the layout inside (e.g. where stairs are, pillars, windows, door placement etc). You may now simply delete pillars and windows completely. You're welcome.
- the housing menu lets you float items as well as turning/ flipping them around all axes. If you want to flip that table upside down and make the house look as if someone just robbed it, go ahead. Or use the underside of that indoor waterfall to create oddly shapes stone stairs. Items can now be floated into the ground so only part of them peeks through the floor as well
- when placing an item you can tick a "item disappears through walls and floors" box which allows you float items through the ceiling if you want to use the underside in the basement without the top peeking through the main floor
- the item limit is greatly increased, probably low 4 digits
- stable, mailbox etc. are now features you can turn on/ off any time without them taking up a slot
- you can put minions anywhere in your instance and either set a limited area where they roam or leave it completely up to them and have a Shoebill giving you a hard stare from across the instance
- the housing menu has a "placeholder item" feature which allows you to place an item without owning it and see it with the full texture but it appears plain white/ grey to any visitors so people have a reason to buy/ craft furniture but can still experiment freely with full designs without crimetooling or crafting/ buying a bunch of stuff that didn't look good after all. Once you acquired an item you can choose to replace a placeholder item that you already placed, saving you the hassle of moving it in the exact spot again
- the housing menu has a "save layout" feature which allows you to switch between a few designs you finished as long as you have all items in your housing storage (which is also expanded). When chosing one a list of items is shown and anything that's not in the storage is marked red so you know what to put in for a quick switch
And before someone says that it's too unrealistic, no game could possibly do all that... all these features are in other games. Some even have the majority of them all at once.
Some amazing suggestions in this thread so far, which I'd definitely like to see.
Personally I'd also love for the naming of certain spells to return to classic FF style (fire-fira-firaga instead of numbers) and for esunaga to be added to the game, maybe on like a big cooldown or something.
Add some kind of system that actually helps promote RP. So like, an RP LFG menu where you can post "looking for X sort of RP" or "My character is at X doing Y, come RP with me", in addition to having a tab for the venue ads.
OH MY WORD THIS PLEASE THIS THIS THIS. I'm so freaking tired of getting those.
Ah that's possible, I haven't played the first couple FFs but I just remember from all the FFs I have played that fire-fira-firaga... etc. always was a thing.
In any case, I'd argue that just having spell 1, 2, and 3 is not as interesting as having the name of the spell evolve with it.
There's a few things I'd do if I could, but removing level/Role/Job restrictions on Glamour is my #1, without a doubt.
Open world PvP so early pullers and hunt trains can finally duke it out.
Glam book, hands down. Let me see what every piece of gear in game looks like and where to get it. If it does like WoW where you no longer need the item, even better.
Know what would be awesome shared ownership of your home with your alt, and the ability to share and access loot.
This has been said multiple times in other topics, but the spell naming convention the series went with since FF8 makes a lot more sense in XIV than going for pre Playstation era nostalgia because the number associated with the spells don't say ANYTHING about what their use in combat is, often leading to the novice mistakes of assuming going with the higher number = better.
Furthermore relying on 80s and 90s nostalgia with the spell names is pointless since Final Fantasy games, remasters and remakes included, have been using the ra, ga, ja, etc suffixes far longer than the numbers, making it far more likely people are more aware of them than not.
a checkbox that says "override square's decision on whether or not this hat or hairstyle works on limited races" considering how 90% of modders lazily ported over a ton without so much a single alteration beyond slight repositioning and most don't look any worse than when a player with long hair that clips through their armour/weapon.
A once a week guaranteed RNG catch of a rare fish.
It feels like I've been going for some of these fish for years. Actually, I have! I'm still missing fish from Heavensward because the @#$%^ing things keep getting away even if I do get a bite!
If you finish the msq on one character, you don't have to do it anymore on alts.
Updated spearfishing gig
Please
A housing addition.
I would add 60 housing wards to all districts, make the auto demo timer 90 days and limit ownership to 1 personal and 1 fc house (determined by fc leader status) per world region per account. Alts on the same world would automatically have tenant's rights.
a complete revamp of the veteran's reward system with better items.
more events and rework of FATE system(kinda like dynamic events from gw2)
for sure the implementation of unrestricted gear for glam purposes
fix the leveling issue between 61-80
A dating sim minigame for Valentione's Day.
This would make the Puppets' Bunker trash mobs so much less aggravating...
Yes and no. I think the original FF limited spell names to 4 characters; you had, like "FIRE" and "FIR2" and "FIR3", yes, but also Sleep was "SLEP", Temper was "TMPR", Lightning was "LIT", etc. So you could argue that "Fire", "Fire 2", "Fire 3" and so on were the classic, original style, but I feel like it was more "whatever we can fit in four characters that won't be TOO confusing."
And while FF2 introduced full spell names and appended numbers, it was a different thing; you had one "Fire" spell, and as you leveled it up, the damage increased. So "Fire 3" was not the same thing as Firaga, but rather just "Fire" with more damage than it had when you learned it. (Also, I think this maxed out at "Fire 16", so... let's just move onwards, so as not to give the Black Mages any ideas.)
I think it was FF3 that introduced the "Fire", "Fira", "Firaga", "Firaja", etc. naming scheme, but I might be wrong on this.

You have lost 85% of your players in a month
Enjoy.
I want a way to transfer untradable items between alts, even if it has to be severely throttled to stop it from being an RMT issue.
Maybe have a special shop where you can drop off an item and then your other character can pick it up.
