The bottom line is, when did THIS become acceptable fun? Really, in 2012 with all the mmo's that have come and gone and all the examples why is THIS the BEST they can come up with. Hamlet Defense is void of interest, and that is because nobody wants to sink 300 runs in just for a small chance of getting the drop. This is not fun, this is tedious. I don't care if "that is how mmo's work". With all the talk about 2.0 being new and a fresh start and a game changer, this is just one horrible step backwards. Completing a simple task 1000 times is not a challenge, completing a complex and difficult task once IS!
There is absolutely no reason why this needs to be done this way. Why can't we have a series of complicated missions, with engaging story arch's and various path's we have to follow. Adversaries we have to engage in that relate to the independent story lines for the various jobs? Why can't they make use of popular game mechanics and the things we do like and are enjoying in order to implement this Relic gear quest.
So you have 400 Hamlet Defense runs under your belt, that doesn't make you a better player, it just means you have more free time.
Sorry, this is a fail.
~EDIT~
Oh let's not forget...this is the flag quest for Relic so this is just the pre-req for what no doubt will be another even more tedious time sinc with absolutely no time and effort put forth to engage the player base what so ever.
