You don't need to be 1490 in Lost Ark right now. It is completely unnecessary, and significantly more expensive (whether you are spending real money, or gold+mats) right now than it will be if players just waited until more content is released where ilvl being that high actually matters.

If that's a lot for dailies. Let's think about how long it takes to do your savage reclears every week, how long does it take for you to cap out your tomes every week. To do your weekly 24-man. How long does that all collectively take in any given week?

yeah you dont need the entire full set of endgame gear to raid even on savage. Thats why there's the minimum item levels as barrier to entry so that its a lot more accessible to get in and start raiding with whatever items you have that meets those min requirements. I've so far completed all current EXs, P1S,P2S all on my main job's ilevel at around 580. With Lost Ark it just seems like the barrier to entry is a lot higher and if you dont have all of the best stuff then you're not raiding period.

lost ark is actually fun but the pay to win aspect kind of kills it for me. i remember some streamers interviewed some lost ark whales and the whales said they spent about $10,000USD on the game. thats crazy.

That does sound interesting. So it's an ARPG? Does it have a story?

It looks visually great but I don’t like the isometric view and I also dislike how the combat functions more like a fighting game reminds of Diablo or other games.

The story and voice acting don’t seem great either.

I hate the lack of outfits in the global version of Lost Ark, idk why Amazon refuses to put more outfits in the cash shop u.u They miss the chance to sell a shit ton of outfits when the game had more than a million active players

I think you can buy most of the cash shop outfits with gold in the marketboard anyway

You don't even have to wait for that to happen, you can just get the cash shop currency by trading gold directly for it and then buy the thing you want off the cash shop without spending any money.

Fair enough, but I would say, at least for the moment, the game doesn't feel too heavily in favor of P2W players. At least not yet, not to me.
I think it would also depend on what kind of content you're trying to consume, but that's semantics anyway.

It's less cheese than EW story to be fair. Nothing can be worse than that , especially moon part and yoshi obsession with bunny ppl in this expansion...
Monster design also seems to be more diverse and impressive compared to re-colours of same mobs from arr across all expansion.
And ALL Lost Ark cutscenes are fully voice acted.

Game might be pay to win... but ffxiv was forcing Hrothgar to buy fantasia to change hairstyles plus they having massive shop on website, so would say that SE is also greedy asf.

Im sorry but Ive seen some of the cutscenes in Lost Ark and the character, writing/dialogue are just awfully generic and atrocious. Even current WoW's story is much more interesting that the odd generic mishmash of fantasy elements of the day.

ESO voices everything too, but the drawback is it's the same 5 voices. Makes you forget who you're talking to sometimes. Voice acting is still pretty costly. I appreciate how characters in XIV get their own unique voices.

You would basically do everything minus the raids. So that's collecting Mokoko seeds (collectibles you find all over the open world), doing your dailies and weeklies (minus the raids), sailing events and do islands. Trade skills can be fun. They're pretty simple but they have a daily cap.

The islands are all very varied, and they're hit-or-miss. There are islands ranging from a Resident Evil themed island to an island with snowball fights. E.g.:

It is really fun IMO. BUT you will finish them at some point and you will have nothing to do because vertical progression is gated by raids. I would only recommend players who don't want to raid to play Lost Ark if they are OK with not having the best gear and mostly doing horizontal progression. It's not a casual-friendly system. But if you don't care about your gear score that much I think casual players will have a good time. Just go in playing it for free then quit when you reach the point where you have to do raids and start grinding a shit ton (tier 3 and beyond).

You literally could get two free powerpasses to boost two alt characters to tier 1, PLUS there was the knowledge* transfer system to boost more, and now they added another free ilvl 960 (tier 2) powerpass to the game. What do you even mean "+50 hours"? :confused:

Yeah, Lost Ark actively encourages people to invest in multiple characters but it's very generous in terms of allowing people to have the tools to catch up with a second or even third character even if they tire of their 'main' or the initial class they chose doesn't click as well as they thought it would.

When the novelty of playing a berserker wore off for me, I decided to play something a little more twitchy - and settled on a deadeye. I caught up to my main character quite quickly and now consider my deadeye to be my new main character.

if lost ark is so much better why come back?

You clearly haven't experienced the FFXIV encounters people talk about then, Ultimates > Mythic raiding.

If you want to still feel like you're in Lost Ark, I'd recommend going to Pyros, 3rd Eureka island. Bunny fates are farmed by packs of bots, this'll make you feel right at home. ;)

Gameplay-wise, Lost Ark is far better than Diablo, both in terms of fight design and combat rotations. Progression-wise? That's more arguable, but there's certainly a lot more side-content, at least.

I've done my share of savage, extremes, and I've admittedly not touched Ultimate because FFXIV's gameplay loop doesn't hold me like that. I'm playing FFXIV, at the moment, because it's not an aggressive time vampire that has a 30-step long checklist for me to do even basic endgame content.

Also, FFXIV's encounter design is constricted based on how sluggish the game is, where WoW's encounter design is much more freeform due to the gameplay being crisp and snappy.

Depends on which diablo you like. Its ARPG combat but with MMO CD's. Its more akin to D3 than the slower D2. If you prefer D2 then you probably wont like the fast pace of LA.

In WoW you've got AoE being dropped on the ground with the same color as the floor lol.

The raid design and mechanics in WoW are completely outdated imho, that's not even getting into the issue of Addons and how the game is designed around them essentially being mandatory.

Oh that's definitely a turn off. I left my games gated by raids behind with EverQuest. Also not too hot on tradeskills having an artificial cap. I tradeskill more in games sometimes than I adventure.

Eh, Diablo is a fun romp for me and something I've done with my husband since co-op D2 days. I don't really need crazy fight design or combat rotations for that style of game to satisfy me.

Once they got rid of the stupid auction house, D3 felt much more like a Diablo game and hubby and I were able to enjoy it.

This made me laugh way more then I should have....

People still play Bot Ark? I tried it and from 1-50 I didn't even see a single human being but thousands of berserker bots speed hacking and no clipping around despite having to sit in a queue of thousands thanks to all the bots. Not to mention the amount of UI pop ups for various currencies and other nonsense made me feel like I installed some malware. Just an all around horrible game that should honestly be banned for its gambling mechanics alone.

Also, not really sure why people are shilling this game on another games forum but I guess they're desperate for human players.
