If you are not experiencing any of the issues that the OP is experiencing, I'm glad you're having a good time with Endwalker. I truly mean it. It's frustrating to get disconnected out of the game or repeatedly 2002'ed from the queue until it resets your position, even within the 5 minute grace period. I really hope you never have to experience this.

I had a great two days of Endwalker. But today, I couldn't play at all. It started with my game crashing in a trial. I logged back in within 60 seconds of crashing. The game had to log me out to put me in a 4000 person queue. My party voted to abandon because I was one of the two tanks and the tank queue is particularly ferocious right now.

During my queue, I got 2002'ed at around 3500, which was fine. I requeued easily. At around 2500, I got 2002'ed again, and again, and again, and again, AND AGAIN until the game completely forgot I was in the queue at all. 3 minutes had passed out of the 5 allotted. My new position? 5000. I'm wired to a fiber internet connection, so unfortunately, WiFi is not to blame here.

I got a headache from the ordeal so I'm just going to sleep it off and go back to work tomorrow.

I agree with you OP. I expected them to solve the queue issue, not give us free game time. Free game time solves nothing. It is a way to silence people. Too much negativity around expansion release does nothing good to the overall image of the game.

Fixing the queue, on the other hand, will calm a lot of players. Knowing that once you log in, and get in queue, that your position is saved and you don't have to worry about it. Some games even show the expected minutes/hours for you to get into the game. So you can go on about your day without worrying about getting disconnected.

Or you could not be playing on a potato machine and potato internet? There's a thought. The actual world servers are performing phenomenally, with only the log in server having issues. If you're d/c'ing while already in the game, chances are that's something on your end at this point-- unless SqE specifically says, "Hey, this world server's been having some issues we're on it." Once I actually make it into the game, its been really smooth sailing. No lag. No disconnects. No longer than usual loading screens.

Now, if you're living within an area that has shit internet then you have my condolences. But at that point, that's not Square's fault.

I'll be frank; Balmung is a congested server. Anyone from the congested popular servers should've expected this.
That aside; have you tried world visit at random? It helps. (when login)
While it is annoying, I don't think the harsh comment was warranted for this launch aside from overpopulation which is always a good thing to have many players is the only downside, it's like Yoshida Naoki has spoiled his players so much that we can't even have patience anymore.

That is easily said for someone like me, I get it.
But know that everyone has to deal with it the same way.

EVEN those who make this game and play the game deal with it.
TRUST me that if they had a solution they'd not solve it tomorrow but TODAY.
Because of the problems they had; unable to fully fix this, they enhanced other areas.

I feel for you all, and myself because it does test our patience. But what I wrote above, I said it harshly to myself when I got to the height of frustration myself, and I found myself feeling guilty. The devs, everyone, has worked so hard, it's a bad luck within fortune (I do not speak English first language, so please excuse me if this saying it a miss!)

I hope everyone who is frustrated will feel serenity soon. I handle it differently; i log in before peak, and I go to bed during peak for the time being ^,^

Looking on bright side....in 10 years of my FF play i had Very few DC, the PS4 have less lag than my Pc and i belive everything Will be fixed, we never had a pandemic like this before and shortage of semiconductors. I belive that FF14 team always guive theirs 100% love in development. If this wasnt true, this MMO wouldnt Live so mutch to see the sucess that is today.

At 17.20 I get a 2002 error as ~#2100, so I close the game and log back in, and get's greeted with yet another 2002 error - This goes on for about 5min before I get into the game. What OP said is not unreasonable. I just lost my queue number 8 and I have to do it all over again. This is not acceptable to me. If I get DC'ed or lose my queue to an error I should be able to hold my queue number or get a priority queue if I try to reconnect right away.

First off, he is paying for a service and that does make him entitled to the service. You are not using the entitled meme correctly.

Secondly, you do not even get his point of view. He is complaining about the lack of measures, not the long queue waits. If you DC and attempt to log right away you should get priority in the queue. If you get an error while in the queue you should be able to hold your queue number for a few minutes. There's no excuse to have to start over and wait another 4-5 hours to log in.

If you have no standards for the services that you are paying that is on you, my friend. I think that you should have higher standards, but you do you.

Wow someone's an entitled little baby.

None of us like waiting to get into to play this game. It's actually a statement of how much we enjoy it that we are so emotionally vested so aside from log in problems which I have too. You must be happy with this game. This is a temporary problem at best.

Read what he said again. This is not about waiting in the queues. This is about the lack of measures in the case of DCs or errors that cause you to start your queue from the beggining.

remember, you can always, always play something else while wait things be fixed in 14, mutch diferent than blizz that force you stay online long to value their game...like Yoshi said, go play something else, then come back as you please.

Here's my games sugestions to settle instant gratificantion need: Destiny 2, Division 2, Asterix's games, Mario Kart style games, Mir4...SWTOR, Soulworker (great anime MMO, mutch better than bandai games).

I agreed about the dc issues. I had about 5 while waiting my turn. Would be cool if square fix the problem with players holding place hiting dumies to not disconect, or dancing doing nothing to hold theyr place.

This right here is what I experienced today. I came back from work, logged in around 2pm, which I was greeted with a 2k que. 1 1/2h later, I was able to login - just to see my client crash to a dx11 error.
I have been in a 4k que now since 2 1/2h and Im currently at 1631. I can imagine, these type of things are hard to track and might actually get abused by some people. But is it fair after all the wait? No, and I do not wish this type of situation to anyone.

I dont live in jpapan, but i imagine that working there must be like: you need 100% and if not suceed with 500% your out. I undestand that every job in any country demand excellence, but in japan must be waaaay mutch preasure.

I read the original post thank you. My answer remains the same. I also have gotten errors, and have been put back in the queue which I admit is very annoying. So I sympathize with OP but I am also a realist. We were told we would have problems. I can only hope they fix the issue about saving your place in the queue or any other error people receive. I think the way the OP worded the title and post was very poor.

You have no idea. For those of us who have lived this, Yoshi's face in the Live Letter where he announced the delay spoke volumes. They've been in "Death March" mode for months. I wouldn't be surprised if a number of the Japanese staff went home only a couple times a week or snuck home every night for three or four hours.

Why do I wish for FFO servers to explode? Is it only me that wishes this? I swore if the game servers wore "Offline" this pain we are going through will not be felt as much as it is now.
In case You did not know you can experience a disconnect when getting to Q of 1 and send back to the end of Q. I just got that exact Experience 5 min ago, my Q now is 5000+. Fuck this!

OP got a good point regarding establishing a grace period for dcs and a better queue implementation but he/she/Preferred pronoun expressed in a really bad way...Like we all are in this together getting in line no need to flame each other, we already have something to bother us all.
Hope we could get some info from the dev team regarding both connection grace period and queue line stability and ability to go back to the queue in a more better implemented way instead of getting error and having to open the game and enter you credentials all over again.

Yes, they did say there will be difficulties at launch (shortly before the launch). However this doesn't change the fact that they failed to address these easily foreseeable difficulties within the ample time they had. They didn't even bother improving the queue system following their failure to increase server capacity. So here I am, writing this post as I babysit my login queue in case it gets sacrificed to another 2002 error.

They're giving more subscription time? Nice. But playing requires my actual time too, and it's not something you can spend, replace and restore like subscription time. Not to mention the issues won't suddenly go away in the next week. They already screwed over many people by pushing back the launch date. Looking back, I wish they pushed it even more considering how these problems spoil the experience.

Agree, 7 days extra is worthless since we've already gone 3 days without much play time. I have serious doubts the queues will get any better within a week. People making excuses for SE or blaming other companies is sickening, I thought WoW defenders were bad. The reality is SE took people's money and have DENIED them access to their paid product, this is no ones fault but their own. What they are doing is simply theft, there's no other word for it.

Blaming hardware shortages is a bad excuse, the servers have had queues every day for the past 3 months, nowhere near as bad as now, but they were there, especially during a crash, then you could get similar queues to what you have today. It should of been very easy to tell from pre-sales and existing population data what to expect in terms of numbers. Sad thing is there is NO shortage of CPUs, you may pay above MSRP but they are available from many retailers. As others have stated Cloud is a better alternative as it allows you to scale for surges in use, AWS has plenty of specialty servers including AWS GameLift which is specially for gaming servers, used by others like Ubisoft.

All this queue, lobby error, error 3001 and all others take community apart with one, who use scripts to prevent auto-logoff and those, who hate 1st group.
It's take too much time from all to sit, watching endless queue every evening and wait for a miracle.
For me it's better to not play at all some time, but get a bugless product, then just feel hate and butthurt every time I see an "lobby connection error"

7 days is fine - but it's crappy replacement for hours of waiting on release.

As for me, I accept the apology and I understand there's little you can do, but I don't accept your compensation. "Have more of something you can't use" in no way compensates me for being pretty much completely unable to play for the entire duration of early access, I want something that actually makes me whole for the lost time that I was unable to play. Start passing out something with an in-game benefit to people to people like bonus experience (ITEMS we can use when we're actually capable of playing, NOT FREAKING WINDOWS. Time windows don't help *anyone* right now, us or you) or tomes to insta-level reaper or sage to 80 or *SOMETHING* that's actually makes people whole for lost time playing, rather than $1.50 of playtime.

I have been playing since ARR and have grown into a big fan of the game. Nowdays I can only play a few hours a week mainly during evening hours. The fact I bought an expansion which I can´t even play because I have to wait 3 to 5 hours just to log in is outrageous. The only compensation that justifies this is a full refund.

The OP isn't acting like a child, they've every right to be angry. 7 days paid time doesn't give back the missed opportunities that were presented as an "early launch." Empty "sorry" posts are a tired bone developers have been throwing to paying customers for too long. Each of pays (14.95$ x 12) $179 USD a year plus the cost of this expansion--and it's clear little of the profits SE makes is spent on improving their ability to handle and mitigate server loads.

So, you log on to attack someone for being upset about what--what they're paying for isn't being delivered? At what point do we call your attempt to defend a billion dollar company "childish?" You're literally complaining about complaining.

Feel free to continue to post whatever you'd like, but I they're absolutely not being childish by holding Square Enix accountable for their shortcomings. They've had a very long time to prepare for this and it's clear, once again, they chose not to do enough.

Ok this right here is an outright lie Im going to call out.
Nobody was DENIED access. To say they were means they were outright told they cannot play the game...which did not happen. There is an Error happening to everyone (myself included) on the log-in queue, and to some people in game. It is a technical issue caused by Server Congestion, not by the Company or the Client Prohibiting you from the game.
Calling it Theft is another lie, because nobodies money was stolen. You paid for something, and you got it.
What you DONT have, is a Perfect Experience trying to access the game, because of issues everyone is facing to some degree.

Don't tell Lies and blow it out of proportion by making Slanderous Remarks.

Let's sell lots and lots of Endwalker copies, Early access; charge the customer on the planned release day- but delay the launch 2 weeks, start the actual "early access" knowing that there will be so many players who preordered that there is no way they will all be able to play. Apologize over and over again, it will work cause the community is so understanding, offer 7 "free" days and have the white knights cheer at the generousity- in fact we've been robbed by 14 days of endwalker even before this release as the charge was performed Nov 23, I assume that applies to everyone or else it's just me who paid for something I can't possibly access during weekdays and only for an hour or so during weekends.

This is terrible indeed and it's unexcusable, it should not been launched at all given the situation but of course the time is running out for this fiascial year so they needed the money. I don't think these 7 days offered is generous at all, we should have gotten 14 days just at the time the release date was postponed.

I said it before the "anger" you see now is only the start of it, and there is no indication what so ever that this will die down anytime soon, why would it?
