I've felt this a lot today with the game just eating every other pitch perfect button press.
Yeah, I think all ranged physical DPS suffer pretty heavily from this in one way or another - DNC struggles during the opener and every burst window, while MCH can't even single-weave Gauss Round/Ricochet between Heat Blasts consistently. It's rough.
Thank you for taking up the mantle and putting in the work to hopefully get this resolved. While I'm fortunate enough to have a low enough ping so this bug does not affect me, I'm sure there's 10.000's out there who are struggling with this.
Bump. /10char
I'm posting in support of this. I don't have much more to contribute, the first page is full of good information. But I also know that YoshiP doesn't see these threads unless they make it onto his weekly report, and I believe that is driven by number of comments. So here's my comment.
Your bug report seems to have been unlisted https://web.archive.org/web/20220515...unintended-way
Quick and easy fix: Implement NoClippy in the game.
It'll benefit literally ALL players.
But we all know that Sqenix will never get out of their superiority throne to implement a fix that players made.
Sqenix will never even consider trying out a 3rd plugin just to see how broken their game is and how this simple plugin solves it.
Ah, not quite, I think that's a byproduct of how thread IDs change when they get moved to another subforum.
The bug report is still here: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...23#post5930223
I've checked the "Accepted Bugs" subforum, and it's still visible on (currently) page 2.
Weird, because I cannot see it in the accepted bugs forum.
It might be a bit hard to spot in the list - currently, it's the only thread on page 2 of Accepted Bugs that has a four-digit view count.
I'm commenting here again to try to keep this visible.
The problem still exists and if they say "we don't have enough information" again it wasn't because we don't try to tell them, but instead, it's because they don't like to read the foruns '-'
Commenting so this gets bumped up again. I really hope this is fixed one day, it's rough not being able to double weave as an EU player on a NA server.
Bumping this so people don't forget about this post, preliminary patch notes for 6.2 went out today and nothing was said about this problem on it. hopefully they will implement a fix in the patch.
Yeah, fingers crossed!
I've received no further communication regarding the bug report, unfortunately.
To folks who're used to the assorted tools that address this issue artificially, good luck adjusting to the janky clipping timings until those programs are fixed to work with the new patch.
Please take a look into this SE, we would really appreciate it. As an EU player on a NA server (where all my friends have been since 1.0, so I am staying) I want to be able to double-weave as well.
Hahaha, same thing here, the friends that got me into XIV mostly live in NA or Canada but I myself currently live in EU - it's frustrating knowing that this issue isn't that complicated at its root, and ultimately completely avoidable
The full patch notes are out! This issue was not mentioned anywhere, so it looks like we're still stuck with the problem (unless it's part of the "Other various issues", but I dare not hope).
The list of "Known Issues" is not necessarily comprehensive, since they seem to focus purely on problems related to new content. I hope it's at least on their radar...
Bumping this again. Fix was not implemented in this patch but it's at least an accepted bug now.
Bumping this for more attention, since Yoshi-P did recently ask for us to report latency related issues in high detail. This one is documented in extreme detail. I hope it is on their radar and in consideration for a future fix. :)
Awesome Nekkowe, thank you! :) *fingers crossed*
Logged in just to contribute another bump
As someone who plays from south america in a range of 180-250 ping, I can never get 9 GCDs in my No Mercy window while playing GNB, at least not while doing the double weaves required in this tier
To give more concrete examples, in the opener of P5 and P6 I have to weave Hearth of Light next to a Damage oGCD to do my opener, Add to that the pot animation lock, double weaving a oGCD with No mercy and I have already clipped a oGCD out of the No Mercy window. I have even tried delaying No Mercy to the last .7~ seconds of my GCD spin to make sure I squeeze the most time out of it and I still cant get 9 GCDs In
It gets really frustrating to have fun with a job but be unable to play it properly, specially in Savage or high-end content where I end up feeling more like a burden to my team
Giving this the weekly bump so that the NA community team can forward all the helpful information in this thread. :)
Being honest, Square and YoshiP do listen but mainly to the JP playerbase. I've been playing since 2014 and as a South American player I feel like we're the leftovers even if there's promotional material for the game in spanish. Unfortunatelly I might be the negative one in here but I don't think anything will happen as this problem exists since ARR and it has only got worse over the years with the speed of the skills that some jobs have if not all have been going through. In ARR the jobs played a lot more slow that they do now and the high ping/animation lock didn't felt as wrong, however it was still pretty noticeable specially for some fights like Titan Ex.
I never post on the forums but on the chance that this will get some attention this is also my bump for this situation, however like many fixes that players do, like waymarks and UI extensions, Square is not going to care and just ban everyone that thinks they're going out of their way to make the game a better experience without affecting direcly anyone else, like the amazing UI mod that allowed people to have a bigger number on the skills when they were on cooldown.
So if you can, try to google this little thing called XIVAlexander, like many have said it can help you understand the problem better and who knows what else, but again just don't talk about it, sometimes it's better to keep a low profile and avoid detailed conversations, specially in this game where GMs can ban you without giving you a detailed explanation or feedback for it.
Kinda ironic, how the JP playerbase was complaining at the start of Endwalker about the jobs gameplay situation and YoshiP addressed that saying that it stressed the devs and they wanted more precise feedback, ironic that he says that when they can't give you detailed feedback when someone gets a warning even.
Weekly bump, hope the community team can forward this issue as this is exactly one of those latency related issues that Yoshi-P had mentioned that the DEV teams need more information on. :)
in all honestly i dont think it is an issue with ping that much i play on 300 ping and there is not a huge issue slight issue to be fair but not great for those that are bellow 300 ping i would say not a problem but also with machinist you can animation cancel alot or you can chose to use certain skills to weave or do certain skills in order some skills you can cancel faster than others and it depends in the order of the skill but that is with ranged classes when it comes to melee it is a different story if the tank moves so the enemy moves the hit i thought connected did not actualy connect so the combo messed up so yeah you can see the difference there but they have fixed that to a certain point were with ninja the finger hand jutsu is done local first then sent to the server but if the enemy is not at x y z when you hit them on your end as a melee class then honestly i dont think they can make it client side first for every person on that respect
Time for the weekly patch, in the hopes that the NA or EU community team escalates this issue again. :) Would be awesome if the game could improve this in the future, as we know it is possible since there are third party tools that already achieve this.
Ah, I never followed this up!
I took a brief break from the game, and when I came back, I'd gotten a response from the support desk:

This would be amazing if they could address and fix this. It's been so frustrating being monk on console. Excellent thread guys!
Fingers crossed for a fix for this in the future. :)
I really wish you best of with this matters. This issue is plague the game ages ago.
Time to bump this thread again. :)
I hope they actually do implement something at some point for this, even east coast US the difference using the things mentioned here is just insane. I and others I've been doing P8S with feel like the game plays worse since patch adding the new NA datacenter so hopefully that gets fixed too.
Time for the weekly bump, fingers crossed that this issue is acknowledged and can be improved in the future. :)
Been a few weeks since the last bump, so let's get this topic on the first page again and hope it is forwarded. :)
Has there been any updates in regards to this matter, Nekkowe?
