What is your biggest wish for endwalker that you know probably won't happen?

- I'm highkey hoping for outdoor items (especially plants) that will be Thavnarian themed. Given the track record though, even for when we had Ala Mhigo as a feature in one xpac, I doubt it.
- I hope DRK gets reworked to be ... itself. Not a CTRLC+V warrior.
- Lyse and/or Hilda's hairstyle
- Expanded glamour chest.... :(

For Yoshi-P to give us Zeno's hairstyle, but edited and fitted for playable characters. And also Zeno's broken red Katana. Would be sweet to have as a special savage raid reward with a special effect with it being drawn, it summons the phantom broken half of the blade with the ominous red aura around it, like what it did when Zenos fought Gaius and Estinien

Challenging Story bosses (I know that is what extreme and savage is for), but the bosses for this coming endgame needs some kind of challenge like previous final fantasies.

Make all outfits on mogstation Dyeable and make it where horns on aura isn't part of the face. So each face can pick which style horns you want.

Letting ears on female Viera poke through most helmets/hats just like horns poke through hats/helmets on Au ra.

Keep the Ascians, get rid of the empire. It feels like the Ascians JUST become a really cool villain and now the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc is already ending? I'm not ready to let go.

Honestly, I'm still hoping Emet-Selch, Lahabrea, Elidibus, Mitros and Minfilia get reborn. Maybe on the first or a different shard where time runs faster, so we can meet them as adults and they're all untempered but still as powerful as Amaurotines and still want to rejoin the souls of the living but without death and destruction. I want Amaurotines back. I want to bring them back to life.

I know the game won't have us help the Ascians. Instead we are forced to murder them which makes me really hate the WoL, Alphinaud and Aliasae. It just feels like moral injury to murder Ascians. And the WoL is showing no remorse.

Make MSQ cutscenes skippable again (PROVIDED EVERYONE IN THE GROUP HAS COMPLETED IT ALREADY)

A reveal that, actually, they're also adding a third class, the Mystic Knight!

Sort of like a melee-oriented opposite to the Red Mage, using Star and Lunar-themed magic, with a Scimitar as their Job weapon (being crescent-shaped to represent their Lunar magic, figuring their armor would be a fusion of Arabrian-themed clothes and some light armoring, or magically-imbued bracers and such).

Kind of unrelated, but there's also a part of me that wishes Dark Knights should change our battle-stance and how we hold our weapons. I feel like it would look both cooler and more ergonomic to hold the weapon similar to how Cloud holds his swords in FF7. To which point, I feel like DRK's should get the OG Buster Sword as a glamour at some point. To be fair, SAM's should also get Masamune (and presumably, another optional battle-stance, to reflect how Sephiroth held the weapon?).

I'd rather keep and help both, given that the Ascians and Garleans were both dealt a very poor hand and unlike the protagonists, never had the luxury of plot convenience and 'I WIN' buttons to overcome any and all obstacles placed before them. Furthermore, the inability for Pureblood Garleans to manipulate aether - with rare exceptions - makes for a pretty cool premise in a setting where aether is actively used to get ahead by every other race. Unfortunately that particular aspect of their background was never really played up as much as it should have been.

One wish? hum... Instancied, evolutive, housing for each character (Wildstar/Swords of Legends-like).

I was seriously hoping that the Devs would expatiate a LOT more about their story through our echo ability-- their childhood, their friendship, their ambitions to clean house, Regulas' restructuring of the corrupted VIth legion when he took over, the machinations against him at the imperial court and how Varis staunchly supported him. All these would have been fantastic side quests we would have explored extensively whenever we made it to Garlemald. When Gaius re-appeared in patch 4.X, I was super excited not only because he had been one of my fav NPCs from the very beginning but also because his return and subsequent interaction with Varis would have been perfect for our echo ability to discover the Garlean past. We could have used the echo to further understand the narrative of the Empire's past, the genesis of Emet's reign, the political agendas of the earlier generations of the imperial family, the identities of the nine aspirants to the throne -- all through the eyes both Gaius and Varis. In other words, Varis would have shown us the inner happenings within the royal family-- Gaius and Regula would have shown us the happenstances around the royal family and the empire.

I always had the impression Yoshida and/or the writers try to get rid of 1.X legacy, even in plot form, as soon as they can out of spite or something. And I think that spite is really unnecessary no matter how bad 1.0 was, because a) He was the one who made those changes in 1.19 onwards that weren't even that bad back then and b) He's the same guy who recently talked about how XI would keep going even if they stopped updating it because "it's important to preserve the memories/keep them alive", but I guess that doesn't apply here because nightmaaare, and that seems to include wanting to hurry up and get rid of garlemald.

The way they're handling the empire since 5.0 has been extremely disappointing tbqh. More so than all the interesting hooks they completely BOTCHED from 1.0's lore, either wrapping them up with "well, calamity!" or just downplaying their importance to almost nothing.
The fact Bozja was also rushed as hell doesn't surprise me.

Yeah honestly this is why i’m just probably going to leave after 6.0. I came for the story and to see them just not really respect it and throw things away is immensely frustrating. Along with the fact that content just seems to keep downgrading over time. A lot of the things people are asking in here really shouldn’t be so difficult to implement but for SE it is.

-Better and more diverse healing and tanking actions. Healer DPS options are a joke. As a DPS main I find this highly annoying. I can only imagine how any healer or tank main worth their salt feels.
-Slightly higher difficulty in all content for combat and crafting. The game is too easy right now, but we don't need to break people either. Gathering is fine as it is, but I certainly wouldn't be upset if it was a bit harder for the best materials.
-More race and gender specific gear and gender specific hairstyles. We aren't going to get enough diversity in style, if every outfit has to fit both males and females.
-Female gear that is more womanly than girly. Our characters are supposed to be adults.
-More emphasis on fantasy/adventure style clothing. I'm not saying don't have other types of clothing. Treasure maps and seasonal events are the best time to do the latter.
-Body tattoos and more options for current character customization. My character is from Tailfeather. She often does but doesn't always wear Tailfeather style clothing. Would it make sense for her tattoos to disappear, during the Moonfire Faire? I'm sure a lot of people would like having options here.
-In game parsing. If it is cool to have it, and we can just report those that harass, then we should have it in game. This can help those that struggle to complete content.

There are a few things that should be addressed as soon as possible:
-Being able to report harassment/griefing that is not directed at the person reporting as well as looking at the behaviors of all parties involved.
-Implement a system/ team that actual bans cheaters. There are people that cheat in raid content, pvp (mainly ranked feast), and crafting/gathering. They are never banned. Cheating forms toxic behavior in general and apathy from those who would otherwise pursue a goal. People were caught on stream cheating in ranked feast.

Doing those two things will go a long way in making sure people will not cheat their way through any difficult content nor harass people when things go south in an instance. The less drama in the new expansion, the better.

Our character finally gets a voice.

Then they need to find a better way of conveying the power of antagonists in the MSQ, some of whom are amongst the most potent beings faced to date. Keeping things simple the way they do now isn't doing a great job of that, IMO.

Granted this is a challenge to do, and perhaps one way forward is to use "solo" engagements (maybe with trusts to complement them) with variable levels of difficulty selectable, as sufficient to progress in the story, possibly with trials being the optional/alternative group way of doing it, where both normal ("canonical") and EX difficulty can go much higher. The concern then is what would occur to those normal trials since they wouldn't be mandatory anymore, but they have a trial roulette and can use the rewards system to figure out how to incentivise it.

Same here. Ever since Stormblood XIV has been feeling less and less like Japanese rpgs I enjoy and more like Eorzean Second Life unless you're into savage and ultimate content. I want to see the plot I care about wrap up first hand but once that's done Im not planning on staying. After all, the writing was the one thing I would absolutely agree they were doing very well. But then 5.1~5.55 happened.

Although I'll echo Theodric's desire to keep Garlemald around, I agree with this mostly. I'd even be keen on keeping Zodiark and, I suppose, Hydaelyn around, e.g. if they were to be merged and continued to be useful.

It also depends on how they handle it for me. If it's done poorly, it could serve as a bellwether of what to expect of future writing.

Let us unlock job trainers as Trust partners. Maybe once we complete the job quests for the expansion that job was introduced in. So, a level 50 warrior could recruit Curious Gorge, a level 60 dark knight could recruit Sidurgu, a level 70 red mage could recruit X'rhun Tia, and so on.

Or maybe just some Trust partners that aren't elezen, miqo'te, or Thancred. Or just some who aren't fair-skinned and pale-haired.

... now here's an idea! Agree with your second point also, the Scions having so many design traits in common has always been a bit off-putting to me. I normally wouldn't think twice (okay, slight exaggeration) about giving my characters white hair, but I felt I had to in this case just because... they've all got white hair (or close enough)

We know they'll (supposedly) be retiring the Scions as our constant companions once Endwalker wraps up, so here's hoping we get some less homogeneous character designs after that...

Guildhests weren't even a thing in 1.x, though? You had Behests (essentially, patrol FATEs) and Guild Leves.

Guildhests are effectively just Hall of the Novice exercises, but with a unique setting and scenario each time.

Would love having Hamon, Chuchuto, Rurukuta from Pugilist or Radovan\Sophie from Gunbreaker quests (as the latter already fill a tank and healer role too!)

Elai is really NOT friends with any of the Scions except - now - Estinien. She doesn't mind doing stuff with Estinien. And she'll let Alisaie tag along, but she cannot stand the rest of them. She thinks they just see her as a weapon to point and fire.

Less G'raha. I just want to punch that annoying fan boy square in the face and leave him on the side of the road somewhere. Why can't we have just more regular friends? Alisaie is great in that role. She isn't arrogant like her brother, she talks to us like we are a normal person, she doesn't fawn over us...she's just a bud.

Also for them to stop

killing off all the good villains and leaving us with the just awful ones. Emet and Yotsuyu and Iceheart were all just magnificent, even characters like Regula van Hydrus that were not given nearly enough screen time, were good. But nooooo they were all killed off so we could have more cringy anime villains (Zenos and so far Fandaniel fit this bill quite nicely), blech

People who do previous expansion level DPS get automatically locked out of all current content (including MSQ) until they are able to clear a specific instance that will force them to learn or quit.

- Burmecians as a playable race

ShB story has set the bar a lttile too high ...

I wish EW story will be as good as ShB or even better which I'm pretty doubtful atm . . . I sure hope SE will prove me wrong though.

Apparently I was suffering a stroke while I wrote this. Apologies! I did indeed mean leves. Such an awful, awful system. Why we still have it is a mystery to me.

Guildhests could have been something nice but, as we know, everything below savage is not allowed to be difficult anymore so they would have been like dungeons but shorter.

I don’t think it set it too high tbh. That being said though, the story went from finishing in 7.0 to being put back to 6.0 with no post story patches to wrap it up. So i expect it to be heavily rushed considering the devs themselves expressed concern at this.

I would keep garleans since sum of them aren’t so bad but I would get rid of the ascians don’t know about anyone else but I would never help a group that has slaughtered countless of innocent people by their rejoinings I’m surprised that doesn’t matter to you but maybe I shouldn’t be surprised.

I want to be able to fight Hydaelyn.

We all saw on the First what happens if she’s running the show.

SE deciding to take the ongoing issues with cheaters/bots more seriously and realizing that no, it's not normal for people to be doing *insert repetitive activity* for more then 24 hours straight on a regular basis even if their fancy "tools" are not detecting anything abnormal.
