There should be other ways to obtain the Field notes.

Yea that's the biggest problem it really makes u feel boring and upset when nothing dropped after that much time of waiting.

Yeah i'll take a break with Bozja, the game taunts me by showering me with Lyon 1 and Dyounbu notes while Dabog nothing and rarely get to do the Vigil CE as well for the duel
While it is nice seeing big parties working together and shouting for these skirmishes, i know it is just out of desperation and we get to mock how stupid it is at least.

This is wrong on mutliple levels. The grindy mounts you mentioned have a set end point. They are intended to be long term goals with a clear ending. They have an associated end point. There is a clear start and finish to obtaining these. Do I need to repeat that another way for it to make sense?

Field notes are 100% RNG. There is no guarantee. There is no set end. There is no limit to the amount of time that can be wasted attempting to obtain these. Spending 8 hours a day for 5 months does not guarantee one by Endwalker release. Spending 8 hours a day for 10 months doesn't guarantee one 5 months after Endwalker release. 4 or 5 of these notes have inconsistently high RNG associated with them. They need to be increased to be in line with the other obtainable notes. The intention to make them harder is without merit.

Your logic is flawed and incomplete. RNG of this magnitude should not be acceptable. Gaming has changed over the decades.

If you complain about this kind of RNG you should also ask SE to remove RNG from other content like Big Fishing or Triple Triad cards, because it's the same for those. You could farm those for months as well without ever seeing them drop.

And there are some kinds of fish you can attempt to get only once every few real-time days (or weeks even iirc) because they're gated behind certain weather conditions which have extremely long respawn timers.

I know all about how dumb the rng is with fishing. I'm at 1,034 / 1140 on unique fish for the resplendent tacklefiend's rod. I'm not a fan of it there either believe me, but I also think the circumstances behind fishing rng, note rng, or say a mount that can only be obtained from one source, like an ex primal/savage mount are entirely seperate content rewards and should be treated as such. There are different levels of acceptability with the mechanics that go into different rewards. The reward difficulty needs to reflect that. Arguing one versus the other is a pointless conversation. In the context of notes, the amount of work required for a select few notes of the total 50 is disproportionately bad.

Agreed, it would give us something to spend platinum coins on since there is only one gear set and no augmented. I am sitting on pile of them after getting all the gear from farming Dalriada for Lyon pt 2 notes....that I still haven't gotten after 31 runs!!

I don't disagree with you, a lot of people are really used to instant gratification and want it now or want to be the first person to have the new shiny and show it off and rub it in other people's faces. I do think there should be an alternative way to obtain field notes albeit a very high amount of bozjan coins or clusters as well as the current way now. I've done Bozja off and on since it's release and have never received Lyon's or Sartauvoir's notes which is all I need left- and I expect that's just how it will be unless they do increase drop rates or add an alternative method. I'm a very patient person but I do not enjoy grinding mindlessly in Bozja or the RNG put into being picked for duels. I'd like to get out of here asap but no-one is forcing me or anyone else to stay.

I'm fine with the low drop rate in a way but I'm getting kind of tired of the way the skirmishes and CEs work in Bozja. I once stayed for a full instance and helped prep Absent Friends/MDK as well as cluster farmed and did skirmishes off and on to clear them off. Literally EVERY OTHER CE went off. Person who got the Gabriel duel didn't even go in so a waste there. One CE took forever to clear (not sure of the reason, there seemed to have been enough to do good damage) so the others had to wait to spawn. When Absent Friends FINALLY popped I barely had enough time to clear the two skirmishes. Not only is it annoying for people that want to get the notes, it's annoying for people trying to get the Duels.

I've spent the last two weeks doing Dalai runs (41 so far) whenever I can and I still haven't had the "field notes of Meryall" drop for me.

At the rate I'm going, I'll get the F'ing title before RNG deems me worthy of it dropping...

Are you trying the squirmish "Attack of the Supersoldiers" in zone 3 too? I got Meryall there, but I haven't seen it drop in Dalriada so far either.

Nothing drops in Castrum or Dalriada for me (except the guaranteed one) :(

the pattern i see on people is that that one thing they already got will keep drop the same, like some guy got 7 sartavoir and zero dyunbu, or people keep getting meneius but never dropping lyon, as it like the machine learning leaning on the one we have for awhile

even thinking being a polite player and do all available ce and skirmish until steel of flame pop expecting some pity system like "oh this guy did most other ce lets drop it" but to be dissapointed as always :D

The stupidest part is that those notes are a 2* drop. They're only rare because there's only 2 places to get them from. It seriously wouldn't kill them to make the drops possible with ALL Fates/CEs connected to the NPCs. Meaning Dabog would have 4 fates, 2 CEs, and a Duel his could come from, and Meryall would have 4 FATES and Dalriada.

That was me until today, I had like 5 dyunbu total until I finally got Sartavoir today, where I see people in there doing this longer then I have been not have a single one of hers. Now I just need Menenius.... At least I can work towards the mettle title with that one.

I felt bad sitting around so I'd either help kill the stuff, do skirmishes, or become the lifeguard for the CEs people wiped on lol.

I am probably an odd one out but since we are reporting experiences here’s mine. I was missing 8 notes initially after mindlessly collecting them while raising my rank, over the course of 3 days I was able to obtain all of the 5 stars notes- 4 star notes I still needed. I was prepared for a long time investment given the grievances I read in this thread, but I guess I was spared the pain. Good luck to you all as well in your lore/hovebike hunt!

Random is as random does.

I wish those rare notes could be obtained via something else... like 999 platinum coins or something very grindy.

The 1% droprate (that I've been told) is so abysmal that you might be grinding this for years. And after Save the Queen stops being relevant content, it's gonna be even harder to get them.

I ran more than 60 Copied Factories ever since it was released trying to get one of the pod minions, and I never got lucky with the roll. The only way I could was when those items became just party-exclusive recently.

Things gated behind RNG is okay... but the droprate needs to be a little less drastic.

For Sartauvoir, you have spent 5 hours like i did today and everyday since the release of the patch, in the Southern Front killing scorpions and doing fates which give you a mere 15K mettle. After one hour, you are basically fed up and just sit and wait with the other 20 people, moving to go to Help wanted and unrest for the wicked which are quite rare too.

I know what a grind is and to prove it with your criteria, i have the Triceratop, the centurio tiger and Astrope. I knew the objectives and i worked for them. For the big fishes (i have 221/249), you know the time/weather windows and you are free between them. As for the TT, you can generally have several attempt per hour (i have 299/312).

For the Sartauvoir note and other note, you are just wasting time ... waiting for a rare fate with a very low drop rate to pop. And the time wasted is not 10 min here and there .. it's hours a day

Exactly! You can't compare those because they are two completely different types of grind.

You can measure exactly how long you'll be getting something even if it costs an absurd amount of X currency.

A very rare RNG drop, however, you might not get it ever. Plus, taking in consideration that unlike pony mounts from ARR, this is not something you can do on your own... you depend on a large number of people.

I have run castrum LL 75 times and still haven't gotten field note 17 aka lyon. Ive gotten 4 runners pieces which are supposed to be rarer I belive and about 6k coins. I dont know if I have to run it another 50 to 100 times but could we put an option for lyon to cost 1000 plus coins Id like to see the end of the tunnel its pretty demoralizing. I know you can get it from duels but they are something Im uncomfortable with. also 90 loathsome memories

I'll sit through most grinds in this game, but as of right now, I've spent more time in the past week grinding for notes, than I spent progging and clearing UWU. It's a complete joke.

Even just to vent spent 5 lockouts over the past 2 days trying for Dabog 1 and Dyunbu with neither in hand. Miserable doesn't do it justice the southern front's mettle gains are so poor and I dare not risk doing Castrum in case one of the thimble full of skirmishes spawn I feel as if I've made zero progress. Yes I've tried to do Aces High it's too hard to get into and too hard to do every mistake is a one hit death..... maybe if I could actually practice the fight I'd stand a chance but one chance at actually getting into the duel once a lockout at best and being stressed out just managing to get in, so MDK every 30 minutes or so if lucky to no avail. This isn't a grind it's misery given form

Myself, I started the grind for the notes to get the mount on May 28th. At the time I had 8 from Southern and 4 from Zadnor left to get, I already had all the ones from Reginae.

Turns out I was already lucky in Zadnor as I only had to worry about Dabog for the 5 star. The rest just were from stuff that hardly showed up. Southern though I had ALL the big 5 star ones to get, and some of the annoying others like Dyunbu.

I thought this was going to take some weeks to get.

Ended up getting all the notes I was missing in 6 days, with the last one, Dabog 2, finally dropping on Wed morning. (That one was a royal pain!) I would say about 20 hours of grinding the various skirmishes, engagements, and instances since the 28th. Did no duels.

So yes, not impossible, just time consuming and hoping for Lady Luck to be on your side.

But hey, we have a long drought ahead of us, gotta do SOMETHING to stay interested in the game, right? ;)

Since that goal is now done, I have turned to trying for those TT cards and learning how to play the card game so I can get that mount.

Im usually solo farming for an end to atrocities fate in Zadnor, and it's annoying when players just sit by and wait for the fate to pop and not help - but they're the ones who get the note on Fabineau. Same with Sartaurvoir- me and maybe one other farm scorpions- and others just idle by. But I've been tying to get sart for a few months now and he's never dropped his note for me- same with lyon. But Zadnor overall doesn't seem to be a big issue bc i have nearly all except 2 notes there but I assume they're another sart and lyon type rarity for me.

right now im at 49 Dalriada I'm at 2/10/0 valor buffs and ive gotten lyon II 3 times and 0 memeius notes.

just hope I'm not 10/10/10 before i get it

12 and 14 are a major issue now. People are camping at all spawn locations so its almost done by 30 seconds and you can't get a gold if you even get there on time on top of the horrible drop rate.

I only need the Lyon field note now.
I've been doing the Dalradia for like 4x a day now for a week and no luck, but at least I got the other mount once.
I'm seriously thinking about just doing the duel now..

I just got my raw emotions from Dalriada and no Lyon drop, so I probably will too. You can use the RDM trick to beat the duel in 1 minute.

Well, after several more evenings of spawning her skirmish chain I finally got Meryall. My unlucky friend is now at over 50 runs of the Dalriada without getting Menenius' notes. No dino mount either.

Good luck to everyone still farming, I hope SE adds a coin exchange option eventually.

So i managed to get the Mount a couple of days ago, i got the vast Majority of them just by playing the Save the Queen content, or grinding Coins for Augment pieces or running Castrum/Dalriada for the 50 clear achievement titles.

Notes 12, 14 and 43 though were a problem and very time consuming to get. After i got my first 12, i got another two of them before i actually got Note 14, waiting for upto two hours at a time for one FATE to pop and a tiny chance to get it, was quite frankly absurd.

I know several people who have ran Dalriada 60 + times and seen no Lyon Notes drop, i myself have done over 60 runs and only got them once (run 37/38).

Also, at no point have i done the Duels, i got all mine by FATE drops

I definetly think exchanging Coins for Missing Notes is a great idea, more people seem to want to quit Save the Queen all together because of all the annoyance and time wasting, and i do. not blame them.

Nothing has made me feel this upset with RNG until this came out. I've spent 7 days full lockouts trying for Note 12. It has completely upset me to the point where I don't even want to go back into Bozja. Nothing this awful should make me walk away from content.

I've still got the Zadnor notes to do, I've been farming Lyon from Castrum because my ping won't allow 1v1 :(
I wish I could trade in like 1000 coins or 5 mil mettle something high in price, but not unobtainable

I got the bike today! But I still think they need to do some fixing with how the skirmishes spawn in, especially in Bozja where other CEs can block the spawn for both people grinding the hard way AND people doing duels.
