It is really sad. I was expecting there to be a lot of pushback on criticism against the mount but I still find myself surprised by how conditioned the player-base has become to be thankful for any scrap of new content that’s included with our sub instead of shilled out to the cash store, you’d think this was a no-sub game with how militant some posters are in defending the cash shop on here.
would it make you feel better if i went back and edited it to probably? it probably wouldn't have been implemented, in this case. most, if not all, of the cash shop mounts were only created purely for the cash shop from the team behind it. and in the case for sleipnir(sp?), i could be remembering this wrong, but i believe it came to the cash shop BEFORE the trial, but don't quote me on this as its been about a good 6 years or so.
so no, i don't agree with you, though i wish that was the case.
You know what would make me feel better Zomkei?
You know what!?
Staring at your damn gif, it's mesmerizing.
I actually think we do agree, but just on entirely different scales. Probably is exactly a wording I think that would have fit very well (but don't bother with going back to edit it unless you want to, seems like too much extra effort for our casual back and forth lol, having the conversation was more fun anyways).
You think very unlikely, but 'technically, I guess' possible, I think pretty much the same to be honest but given the equation of time I could see a very unlikely can become 'actually sort of likely' which is what I tend to think of when talking about feedback with SE anyways. I hardly ever comment a desire as if I expect them to get it done in the same expansion cycle I mention it in.
Sleipnir is just a straight port from the game though which is a bit in bad taste I think, but they don't really do that often. Even with the carriage they clearly simplified the model because one of the reasons Yoshida said they couldn't at the time was it was too complex (had loads of objects, lots of curves)- clearly whoever worked on this for the cash shop had to work to make it not explode everyone's PC (wasn't just a straight port, but it was very obviously inspired by the intro scene wagon and maybe even the model base used). Where Sleipnir was just like 'yoink'. Again though I'm the fool talking here since I purchased the horse lol. I liked the way it looked a lot XD..... So weak am I... The myth around it is fun too. Still kind of hope they 'remix' him to up his desirability now that they've so many crazy mounts in the game, but even without he's a bit special to me (just think they could have more fun with the myth, and raise his sales again).
Again which is why I'm not against the cash shop but I think when they design brand new things, or particularly welcome is things from their other licenses, that those are the better choices to go into there and they should try to avoid stuff from the game itself (exception made for seasonal). Obviously they'll do whatever they want lol, but just voice a desire- if they had a list of potential new items maybe pushing them towards those items in their list.
I'm not buying the mount. I will never buy any shop mount in any games I play. That being said, I'm glad they are offering these mounts for the people who like it and also because it funds the game I enjoy. I'm just happy with all the new dungeons, raids, trials and in game events we get from the constant patches.
dodos are the best thing this game has ever produced...
and i suppose youre right. nothing is 100 percent grounded, so my wording was a little off, though i still believe it is very unlikely as you said.
i agree it is distasteful about sleipnir, and the cash shop team knows what to target and when to release it for the best sales thats for certain. im the type of person who believes to vote with your wallet, and have never been against the cash shop myself. i've also bought sleipnir, though it was on sale, for the sole purpose of its incredibly slow walking speed. i also got the carriage for a friend who wanted it but couldnt exactly afford it.
i still stand by what i said about people taking it too far though. this was a good, albeit short, debate.
americans are out here saying the 35 is too much when canadians are here paying 60$ lol
This argument is getting silly imo.
Next it'll be "man, how about if they put ex trials or savage on the mogstation?"
I'd like to point out, that while literally everything else has gone up in price, mmo subscriptions have stayed the same (and in the case of the entry level, cheaper)
If we were paying adjusted to inflation, and only inflation, you're looking at $22 a month.
If you don't like the price it, don't buy it and stop let your own vanity took over you.
If no one buying it and they will get the signal, stop wasting time ranting
Salty is not healthy
I don't see anything overly wrong with them wanting to gain extra funds so long as the funds are funding the employees and the game (with a parent company you never know). It's a steep price for me.. but others in my fc have it and it's pretty ^^ Maybe a sale will tempt me but who knows. I don't see the point getting upset. More upset about the event items going in the cash shop and not just being openly there in game every event year :P
Or that over sea shops have all class crafting sets they can use as glam.. you want me money.. give me those crafting sets for all class use <3
I really do wish they would use that more...I'm sitting on 243 of that currency...and have nothing to buy with it. The patch notes for 5.3 mentioned something about there being new items...but the only thing I can see that was added was the Flyer Shaffron barding.
From the patch notes:
New items available in exchange for achievement certificates have been added.
Mounts have always been overly expensive in this game. That said, idk why they don't put a version on the store that's for a singular character so they you don't have to pay such an absurd price... Not all of us play alts.
Yeah I can't justify paying $35 for this. I can buy some really good full games on steam for this price or even less and I don't need to keep paying monthly to use those games.
These mounts shouldn't be over $15 or $20 tops for multiplayer mounts.
I didn't know you could ride 4 people in the tank, I'll try it when I connect lul
Inflation is not something that concerns the players, because it is not something that we did not provoke. It's like when PSN services go up in price and instead of improving the service is worse, imagine having the most expensive sub of all MMORPGs to receive the same thing you have always received.
Granblue Fantasy Skins cost 25 dollars plus it includes a x10 ticket.
I've been playing that game for 5 years and have paid less than I have paid in FFXIV for the same 5 years.
It seems that this post was not at all wrong really

You do not have to buy anything. You think the prices are high? Don't buy it, it is completely unnecessary. "Oh, but don't like it don't buy it is just enabling this behavior", no. Enough people don't buy overpriced products, they reevaluate their pricing. "There will always be the whales who buy everything", so be it. It still doesn't mean you should buy it, you aren't the target customer. Lastly, In my own opinion, I don't even think it's that cool. The outfits also look dumb.
Here we enter into a good discussion.
I'm not going to buy it but anyway I find it bad, I don't need to be the target of something to see that something is "wrong" in the same way that the target of the Ultimates is not me and I fully understood the complaints of people for not having a third Ultimate in this patch.
And this can be extrapolated to many things within the game or even in other games where certain decisions are "questionable" and I can understand the reasons for those complaints (like what happened recently with FateGO)
I've played FFRK since launch and each roll is 43 cdn and good luck getting items I want in 1 roll.
I will always enjoy paying a static price over rng.
I wish i can show the screenshot of me talking to a BnS gm regarding to not getting the accessory after spending 2000 bucks XD
The dollar is falling:)
Thank your government:)Quote:
Since the beginning of the month, the dollar has lost 4.9% against the euro, following a bet that the European Union economy will outperform the U.S. economy. The greenback, in the same period, has fallen 2.5% against the yen; 6.4% versus the Swedish krona and 4% to the New Zealand dollar. In emerging markets, the Brazilian real has risen more than 6%, and the Mexican peso is up 4.9 % against the dollar. China’s currency, controlled by its central bank, is up just about 1% against the dollar in July.

PS. What I'm really wondering is...if FFXIV costumes are costing $18 what are Blade and Soul costumes going for now? $40?
Man, imagine if there was a perfectly free, easy to obtain 4-seater mount for anyone willing to put in a couple hours of work already in-game huh? Who knows, it might have already been in the game for over a year now!
To rehash all the usual points every time people start up the usual complaints over a new mogstation item:
-The team that creates stuff for mogstation is separate from the team that works on FF14; they create stuff for the sole purpose of being sold. There is no guarantee whatsoever that any of the stuff on the mogstation would have ever appeared in-game if it didn't exist on mogstation. From my experience in game-dev though, it's extremely unlikely you'd have seen maybe 3-5% of unique stuff to mogstation in-game; the vast majority of stuff just simply gets canned or shelved indefinitely instead of moving to production stage.
-People waste money on all sorts of useless/one time things all the time. Going out to dinner, alcohol/cigarettes, food delivery services instead of cooking, etc. Most people could easily find a way to save $36 if they look at their spending and decide not to buy that extra chocolate bar each month. And if they're living life on the edge that they can't even save $36, they have far more important things to be worrying about than the price of a digital mount in a video game, tbh. For me, that $35 translates to cooking my family up burgers & hotdogs instead of ordering Pizza on the next time I host a family gathering.
-As I stated above and early in the thread, there's a completely free alternative in-game if you want a 4-seater that just requires a modicum of effort., and a potentially 2nd alternative coming whenever they bring back the FF15 event like they've talked about, it's not like this is the only 4-seater that's available, and wasn't even the first 4-seater ever.
You don't like the price? don't buy it. Still want a 4-seater? Go dust off your rotation and put up a PF for E4s, or wait till FF15 event mk.II, both are perfectly free.
Also personal opinion, I much prefer cool mounts in the mogstation over having them in-game because Square often like to tie ridiculously long grinds to some of the coolest things (Feast, Astrophe, etc, the hunt mounts, the Restoration point mount, etc.) making it near infeasible for 90% of their playerbase to achieve them.
And that's why I only play some gachas, in Granblue Fantasy if I want something I buy a subtix and that's it, if I want a limited character I make Spark. I will always have what I want because the game gives me the options or even in games like Ark Knights or Azur Lane people hardly pay for roll, they pay for Skins.
And here I was and thought for one second we would get something like that as an ingame rewards...I mean its not like certain achievement points are sitting there useless or how about the veteran sub rewards that you did once and never again? But of course its much easier to just want money for this while the unreal mount is nothing but a copy pasted ugly unicorn...
But after seeing the cash crab that is the new Avengers game I shouldnt be surprised anymore..
I don't know who that is.
The last part of my post was opinion, as I stated. Personally, I probably wouldn't even buy that mount if it started at $15, MAYBE $10 just to have it, otherwise nah. To be fair, I pretty much never buy cash shop mounts in general. I have one in total, that I got on sale, because I kind of liked it.
I never said in my post I agreed with the pricing, I literally stated "enough people don't buy overpriced products, they reevaluate their pricing". Which should infer that I also think this mount is overpriced, for that matter.
If you don't care about the price or the mount, what are you doing in this post? defending a multibillionaire company for free? lol. If us as customers think that the price is too high or the product should be a part of the game which we already pay for, we do have the right to complain. Nothing changes just by being quiet about it, and I bet most people that complain will not buy it.
Honestly these cash shop items could be used so much better...just take the big mounts..use them inbetween patches to keep people subbed by giving them out if you sub a certain amount of time in that period (thus even if people dont play they have payed you the money). This will in turn also mean that those that do continue to pay you money (which keeps the game alive..) get something out of it..(taking away the veteran rewards and never truly giving us something back in return is just awful)
And instead of the other and only such reward that we got like that they could put it into the mog station afterwards for everyone to buy if they did not want or could sub at that time..there win win..those who play the game will get their reward and those who did not at the time still can pay the money.
