Suggestion - Gender equality "Battle Stance", "Victory Pose" and weapon idle emotes

This thread has gone off the fucking rails. It's just people asking for /cpose with weapons to be unified, same with /Bstance and /Vpose. The whole discussion about equality and gender differences has nothing to do with FFXIV, get over yourselves. Please, thank you, bye.

I think it fine the gender lock as I said male and female are basic on how we hold weapon in really yes they different how men held great sword in medival age and woman hold them. I think limit leave more room for creative more amazing option to expand male and female emotions that why I want more emotion for male and female no less. you want carbon copy male stance to female stance doesn't that remove the unqine of creative between male character and female character. character are unqiue leave them to be unqiue we still run in character that look similar to are own that almost look like twins yet player behind that character made they character unique. to my criticality goliath sword was 6 feet long it maybe shorter them the buster blade but that big sword back in those day toke a lot strength to lift. great sword are also 6 feet long in dark age men weild them because they had upper body strength to do It if I think back to time when men fought in full plate armor men must died of over heating. they stance the male samurio have that pretty cool hold the katana backward while be idle female character don't have that stance while idle I like but I fine with not have it. I fine with female and male character be different I think a lot players are fine with this too.

another question how much does metal weigh in ffxiv it could be like mithal weigh as light as feather.

first off in video games we have two gender of miq'ati because people complain original the were only female. I will ask for more gender base emotions. when come to video games male and female are base on really genders which right now are culture is tried total destroy for sport to movies to the way men sit on public transit. I would like one place were men aren't the target for destroy or woman aren't every I hope it would be video games. male and female are different. I fine with gender lock animation because aleast nobody be attack here. male and female are different in rl why shouldn't they remain the different in video games. Okay, but how does this apply to the fact that female characters can't use the weapon idle pose used by one of the most famous dragoons (Kain) in the entirety of Final Fantasy?
Will your escapism be completely shattered simply because of a female character holding a weapon differently?

I'm all for unlocking them tbh I'd kill to have the female drk cpose.

Have your emotes. There’s no issue with the suggestion. Your enjoyment of the opposite gender emote has zero effect on my life, so if it’s a positive change for you, I wholeheartedly support it.

Another game, I won’t name to protect its fan base from the sad vitriol that seems to be infecting this topic, allows an option to toggle preferred pronoun. It only affects NPC dialogue and seems like a nice bit of inclusivity. I suspect the trolls will take issue with something like that too.

You talk about immersion and escapism as reasons for why the divide should be kept, yet I would argue that the divide soils the immersion and escapism more. From an immersion perspective, why is a female DRG incapable of performing the iconic DRG pose? Or why can a male DRK not do the badass cpose that female DRKs get? From a design standpoint, I can see the reasoning, to keep uniqueness between genders, but from an immersion standpoint, it makes no sense. They're poses that each gender is apparently incapable of doing due to some...reason. I would say this does far more to break the immersion and escapism of the game than letting people CHOOSE between the poses.

I don't think anyone is asking for the eradication of all unwanted poses and everyone getting stuck with the same poses. More so, they are arguing for the choice to have the DRG pose or the generic lancer pose for females. As male characters have voiced a want for the female DRG pose as well as the female DRK pose. Allowing others to choose what poses they like, would actually allow for the player to have a wider range to convey their character's personality, thus allowing for a deeper level of immersion and escapism. So, to answer your question. Yes, this divide does mess with my immersion. Because from an immersion standpoint, it makes no sense.

It's interesting how this goes, because when I played as NIN I always thought the female NIN idle pose was cooler. It seems we all want what the other has, so I don't know why this hasn't been given to us yet.

I'm a constitutional conservative who just wants more poses to use in gpose but please. Go on how locking how someone stands behind gender is breaking the idea of fantasy when Fordola uses the make Paladin pose during a cutscene.

It's pretty funny cause I seem to recall (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that at one point, a certain character in the SAM quest series is called out for holding the sword like that... and it's the male SAM pose lol.

I just think some of the male/female weapon emotes look better than their gendered counter-part. Especially WAR, DRK & DRG, I think the male emotes are just better imo.
If this was enacted you would be able to use any emote you want so I'm not feeling like this will force anyone to change.

It is great that you like them. But no one is asking for them to be changed. They are asking for the option to choose between them. When I eventually get DRG fully leveled, I would much rather do Kain's iconic Dragoon pose, than a generic lean on my lance pose. I would also like to be able to do the male cpose for WAR sometimes. No one is asking for the eradication of the other poses. Just the power to choose between them. Which honestly would not be that difficult, we've seen time and again, female NPCs using male only poses and vice versa. So, the work to allow this would be minimal.

The heaviest amount of work, would likely be the UI to allow these choices. But it could be as simple as a screen of toggle switches, which would take some time, but in the long run, I think it would be time well invested as it would enrich the player experience for those who put time into giving their character more personality due to a wider range of emotes at their disposal. Again, this isn't about getting rid of one pose in favor of another and if you like the female DRG and DRK poses over the male ones, that's fine and no one is trying to take those away from you. We just want the power to choose which one we want our character to do.

Creating a emote would likely require more work than it'd take to rework an already existing weapon idle emote.

That's nice, but not what this thread is about. This thread is about a request to unlock the Battle Stance, Victory Pose, and weapon idle emotes for both genders.

It doesn't matter if it's the exact same pose or not. The fact is - some people that play female characters prefer male dragoon idle pose.

It's good for you if you like the female poses and well, nobody is forcing you to use male poses if one day SE gives us an option to pick between them.
Literally no one here is asking for the poses to be replaced, only for some freedom to choose between them. And if you don't like the male pose - just don't switch to it, it's that simple.

No they wouldn't. SE add emotes all the time and have no need to go back and re-write old content. This is unlocking emotes that already exist and can work with any character model - because they do already from Lala to Roe.

Is there any reason why you are focusing on victory animations when people are talking about bstance, cpose and vpose?

People don't care about DRK's victory animation. It's pretty much the same already. What they mainly want is access to the cpose stances in DRK's case (which are very different from each other).

in original snes game Kain victory pose was put away his weapon (estinen pose to do this too) through alittle more flare one could spin it around and then sheif on they back . the female dark knight put her sword in to the ground and hold it there while male dark knight.

a dragoon intimation pose could to hold one spear in one hand a beacon your enemy to attack you.
