I ended up switching to Elezen before release for a bit so I could get used to the height differences. I absolutely love my viera though, I don't think I'll be going back to Au Ra or Miqo but I do have alts of those races lol.

Come to Hyperion if you want to see Viera and Hrothgar. We takin' ova.

It fills a niche that was missing. I tend to go for the more beastly races in RPGs I play, including table tops. Roegadyn was the closest, but it was still just a tall guy with a tiny head.

It's entirely possible that's just on your server. On Zalera the only place I've encountered Viera running around in their starting gear is in starting cities, ostensibly on new characters, where I would expect to see that. gotta keep in mind these forums account for maybe 3% or less of players so they don't really represent much

I've seen about three-four male roe's today while I was grinding three areas to rank 3 in fate levels. Four at maximum. Then again I knew that a lot of those Roe's would switch over as its very niche and roe just seemed to be the 'settled' race for that specific niche. Good for them though.

Female Viera have still got their butts out, but not all - it just tends to be the few chaps who are rocking the asschaps so the globes are popping out so their life is complete as they grind through levels. Thinking about it, seen plenty of near-naked Hrothgar. Meh, whatever rocks ya boats.

I've been seeing a lot of Viera on Zalera, but also a lot more Hrothgar than I expected. I made a new character as a Viera to test it out to get a feel of it, not really for me; largely due to the animations not being for me. Of all the female race choices, I like the Au Ra animations the most, followed by the more expressive Miqo'te.

Yeah, I have noticed fewer lalafell. Not a lot less, just maybe 25% less. I suspect most had the doldrums which hit late in an expansion.

On Cerberus there are some Vieras in non Shadowbringers Citys.

I was playing Mithra/Miquote a long Time.
Heavensward was a good Time for a Race change.
Now i stay with my Au Ra.

Yup if you race changed, you did not get the Viera race outfit. Would have to purchase it from a vendor. Only new character start with the race outfit.

Honestly, if I changed, it would solely be because of Viera's racial gear heels. However, I had made a promise to someone, who I convinced to switch to Au Ra with me, that I'd never switch since they were.

Eh, from how I've always seen it, the people pushing for Viera were mostly the same people here on the forums. I don't think it was nearly in demand as what the support was made to suggest. The hair and face limitations aren't really that much more than Au Ra face and horn option limitations, but people are quick to forget that. For the few hairstyles Viera have, they are nice - much nicer than most of the standard hairstyles, to the point that I'd rather have Viera's quality over quantity, but then again, I don't really change my hair that much to begin with. I'm rather happy with the two I find myself switching between.

I've surprisingly seen far more Hrothgar. Not to say there aren't a lot of Viera around, but I've seen more Au Ra, Miqo'te, Hrothgar and Midlanders in comparison.

They're very common on my server, you can't walk an inch without finding a mass gathering of them.

I've spotted a ton of Face 1 Viera followed by Face 4 and 2. Face 3 seems to be the least favorite from my observation. As for Hrothgar, their face distribution seems about even thus far, at least on Hyperion.

I wonder how popular they are on the japanese servers, since JP is known for having a huge preference for Lalafell.

No offence but I can not even tell you what face I used for my Viera. How can you distinct between the different faces from passing Vieras? And how do you Keep track of how many Viera faces passed by? I can barely tell which is the favorite hairstyle here xD

As I said before - Viera didn't take off too much, as far as I noticed. Looking at our FC (we got a small Group of 14 People) only three changed to Viera. We got a bunch of cats, Aura, lalafell and even a two elezen and a hyur.

In low level content I've been the only Hrothgar I've seen so far. There's been a few Viera.

Because, I am an observer. :p You can notice the differences more if you zoom your camera in or look in first person mode. Looking at your character portrait here, your Viera looks a Face 1.

She actually really like Viera a lot. Tried them out with a free phantasia she won and had a blast. She did end up switching back to Au Ra, however. She was split between them, but after looking to her partner to decide what we should be (we coordinate), we did decide to be Au Ra. We do a twin setup and we really liked how it looked to be identical but one of us have Xaela scales and the other Raene scales. The frame of Au Ra fit a bit better with more outfits currently in the game, while Viera can't make use of many headgears atm. The outfits Viera look great in are wonderful, but Au Ra have outfits that she feels that way about too, albeit just different ones.

Some things she likes about Au Ra that Viera don't have is tails, she enjoy having little extra things like that, and she tend to put her tail to max in turn. She also likes how bright Au Ra's eyes are, even without the ring on. Viera eyes, while very big and adorable, always look very dark even with the brightest colors. She feels like they could of had more brightness range with the colors they have. She's not sure why you would ever use the right half of the colors since the left half are already plenty dark for those who like dark eyes.

Ultimately, she still like both races very similarly, just for different reasons, but the small things Au Ra have in terms of variety right now just tip the scales for her partner and herself. Her top 4 (since these 4 are kinda close vs the others for me personally) races she likes to play as atm are the Au Ra, Viera, Lalafell, and Miqto, in that order. She really loves supporting and being partied with Viera for sure though so she's always excited to see one in her party. Lotsa wuv to all you bunbuns! ♥

@Tanama - Her favorite by far is face 3 for Viera. She likes very cutsie looks and the face 3 for Viera is really good for making those kinda looks~ If she ever is one again, she will be rocking it for sure!

on odin we have a lot of viera, however, even if on some servers there not a "ton of viera" - thats fine, Its nice to see a lot more different races now. gives some variety. i want more big buffy cat man xD i love em, they are so pretty.

I would say that Viera definitely blew up. Moreso than Hrothgar for sure.

I see Viera everywhere, especially Viera dancers. Viera dancer is probably the most common combination I've seen recently.

The races that I am seeing much less of are Roegadyn (especially female) and Elezen (again, females in particular). Actually, I haven't seen many Midlanders, Highlanders, or Lalafells either.

Almost every female character I've encountered in the game recently is either Miqo'te, Viera, or Au Ra. It's to the point where seeing a female character of another race is refreshing. Shouldn't be surprising though. According to the June 2019 census there are more catgirls than lalafells, elezen, hyur, and roegadyn females combined.

I know femroe and femelezen are endangered, but midlanders, highlanders, and lalafells are getting there too. The male population seems more balanced out but Miqo'te, Viera, and Au Ra are definitely thinning out the other female races.

Viera didn't blow up because there are some players don't play female characters, like myself. xD If Viera was a full race (both sexes), then it probably would've blown up.

I've seen exactly as many Vieras as I expected, way more than female Au Ra when they were new. What I didn't expect was how many players chose Hrothgar. Beast races used to be so disliked here. I'd guess their numbers are higher than those of Roegadyn and Elezen but we'll see in the next census.

Also, normally when they release a race, there are a boom. After a month we will see who remains and those that fantasia back.

Duh it's because the don't represent children. People love children and playing children and role playing and running around in sexy outfits on a teen body of questionable age!

I see a lot of bunnies, I think the female only rule-set is what it kept it down much more than it would have if it was male and female gender.

Tons of Viera on Cerberus. Not as many Hrothgar though. I think the Hrothgar population is already higher than Roe.
